A very enjoyable stay in hotel Korkyra is what made our vacation. Situated in the center of the town, the location is very convenient and within walking distance from the ferry, harbor, shops, cafes, and restaurants. The staff was really friendly and helpful and was more than willing to show us the places we wanted to visit around the Vela Luka and other parts of the island. The rooms were clean and were regularly cleaned. The beds were quite comfy and there was enough room for all of our stuff. Breakfast was very good, we could choose from dozen meals from the kitchen, I really enjoyed cheese omelet and french toast. We enjoyed quite a few drinks by the pool too. We didn't have much time for the gym, but there is a convenient small gym with a terrace with a breathtaking view over the harbor and sea at sunset. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel Korkyra very much and we are definitely coming back again soon!!

Nice hotel, clean and spacious room, but very small balcony. We had some problems with air condition in our room, but they offered us a new one, so problem was solved. There are Parking places in front of the hotel and it is free of charge 👍🏻

We stayed here for 2 nights in May. It was shoulder season and they were getting their terrace and bar ready. Our room was fabulous: spacious, breezy, super clean and quiet. We didn’t need to use AC as we just opened the windows facing the Harbour for natural air conditioning. The pool was clean with lots of seating options in the sun or shade. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was both a buffet of cold items and we could custom order hot items. What a nice hotel in a beautiful town. Hike to the cave when you visit :)

For this season we are glad to open, next month, Hotel Korkyra pool bar where guests can enjoy the pool while having refreshing drinks with one waiter available to serve them outdoors all day. Our newly renovated restaurant is also ready to serve our guests to the righter standard level. The season seems to have started early this year and as you mentioned the weather is great, mostly sunny with warm and pleasant temperatures, perfect to wander around or simply enjoy the harbor view from one of our comfy rooms. Hiking to the big cave and enjoying the beautiful hidden beaches around town are guests' favorite to-do lists in Vela Luka, along with trying good quality local wine and cuisine. We stayed at the marina for one night and had a terrible experience. Despite marina was opened in 2020, staff is still disorganized and in addition rude/arrogant:
1. Only 2 showers for men and 3 for women were available for more than 120 boats, with endless queue and regular cleaning not done while Covid is spreading;
2. They told us very impolitely to use hotel facilities (showers, gym, open swimming pool), but also in this case services were not enough for all the people (marina plus hotel guests);
3. Reception young staff was totally disorganized and rude/arrogant, we had to wait several minutes to pay as they still had to register us in the system while we had arrived 8h before, same thing happening to other people. Moreover, their online booking is useless, they are not even checking/answering clients' requests;
4. Ferries and cruise ships were generating quite annoying waves and a rip current.
In summary, a perfect example of laxity and mismanagement. Customers should be treated with respect and should be provided with adequate services, given the high prices requested (€83 for a 10m boat). Never again.

We are very sorry to hear you were quite unsatisfied with your stay, and we will do our best to respond to each of your claims. 1. & 2. As you mentioned, extra showers and facilities for marina guests are available at the nearby Korkyra Hotel. This information is conveyed to all our guests during sailing in, and additionally on our reception, to avoid any unnecessary queues, and to let our guests know about all the facilities they have at their disposal. We apologize if this information somehow missed you at the very beginning of your stay and we truly regret if you felt that it was not properly conveyed to you. Also, our toilets and showers are regularly cleaned and disinfected, more so when the marina is full. In such cases, cleaning takes place several times a day. 3. We thank you for your patience if you had to wait several minutes for payment. When the marina is full, it takes some time to register all the vessels in time for payment. As for our online booking, we beg to differ. The majority of our reservations are made through our online booking engine, and we respond to all requests as soon as possible. We kindly ask you to inform us when was your request sent, and we will investigate if it was not timely responded. 4. Unfortunately, our marina is not able to influence the speed of sailing in of ferries and cruise ships. We intend to build in a breakwater, which is planned for 2023, but before the works can commence the local authorities are required to relocate the existing ferry port. As we are striving to provide all our quests with an impeccable service, we are truly sorry to hear your impressions were not positive, particularly since many of our clients emphasize how friendly and helpful our staff is, and that our rates are quite favorable. We understand the difficulties during this uncertain times. We have been traveling to different countries and the hotels have been very accommodating to changes and even upgrades.
Unfortunately this Hotel Korkyra did not.
We arrived at 6:30 pm hungry ready to have dinner. The restaurant was closed and they recommended us to walk to town, there was only one restaurant operating, because there were no tourist in town.
The following day we went to use the spa and to our surprise nobody was there to help, not even the lights were on. We were told that it would be working. The guy at the front desk help us by turning on the sauna but everything else was not working.
We asked the same guy if it was possible to check out one night earlier that our reservation, and he said yes, with no problem and they will refund the money for that third night. We asked again to another person at the front desk, the night before checking out and she told us that everything was ok and they will refund the money, they just needed to speak to Booking.com
We checked out and the next day we called them to ask for our refund and this time the assistant manager told us in a very rude way that the hotel was not going to refund any money. This was a terrible experience. She was not there the past two days and she kept saying that the restaurant and everything was open.She just would not listen to us and for sure to the people at the front desk either.

Dear Adriana, We would like to start by thanking you for visiting us and for sharing your experience. We do appreciate every guest, especially in these uncertain times when many are reluctant to travel, and we strive to make everyone feel welcome and relaxed. Please accept our apologies if this was not the case with your stay, but we also believe your review lacks in providing complete information. Please note that we have been accommodating and have provided free upgrades for you. You booked our standard double room with breakfast, and we have allocated you to our junior suite for free, to show our appreciation for your visit. Also, before making your final reservation, you have booked the same dates but have chosen a non-refundable rate by mistake. As you were not certain if you would be able to come to Vela Luka, we have approved booking cancellation for free, though we were entitled to charge the cost of your complete stay. Regarding our facilities, they are all open with adjusted working hours due to the low season. Our restaurant is open and operating. However, as it is not an a la carte restaurant, if no dinner is booked or ordered at least a few hours before scheduled dinner time, our kitchen, restaurant, and bar staff will not be called to duty. Our wellness centre with sauna, gym, terrace, showers, and massage rooms is also operating and available to our guests. During the low season, our reception staff oversees the wellness centre, and as you already stated they helped you with starting the sauna. Other amenities, such as gym equipment and showers are available to guests without requiring staff assistance. Massages are also available after making an appointment at the reception. The only unavailable facility was our seasonal courtyard pool, which is always closed from the end of September due to weather conditions. Regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic, October is quite slow in Vela Luka as it is the low season. Many town facilities are not open to the public, but this is not the hotel’s responsibility. The services you have booked were available, as well as other hotel amenities. Therefore, we were not able to approve a refund for the night you did not use. Our reception staff confirmed you are free to check-out earlier, but they were not at liberty to confirm a refund, as this is determined by our booking policy and only senior management can make such decisions. They informed you about the booking policy (in your case the booking was eligible for a free cancellation up to 2 days before arrival) and also advised contacting the booking agency and our sales office for all matters regarding the requested refund. One of our receptions even spoke with you in Spanish to make everything clear, and in no case was the refund confirmed. We apologise if there was any miscommunication, but we believe our booking and cancellation policy was quite clear. Since I was the person taking to you on the phone, I apologise if I sounded rude. This was not my intention. I was trying to convey why we are not able to meet your request, as we have already communicated to the booking agent via phone and mail, and I am sincerely sorry if in any way my attitude seemed uncivil. To conclude, as the services booked were available there was no ground for approving a refund, and our reception staff did not provide any information that would suggest otherwise. The hotel is in a n ideal location. It is near shops and restaurants and has a view of the water. The room was a one bedroom suite with huge bathroom equipped with the a large tub and standing shower. Two sinks. Very nice.
We had requested 2 single beds but got one full. We were told that we would be moved in the morning, but we’re never contacted. Fortunately, there was a pull-out couch.
We came during an unexpected cold snap. The heating system failed to achieve warmth. Not pleasant. We misplaced one plastic key and we’re charged an extra 100 kunas at checkout. Lifelines most business establishments we found, they did not accept American Express or Discover.

Dear Wander, Thank you for being our guest and for sharing your experience. We appreciate every guest's feedback. Although we are really sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay. We apologized if you did not get the room you booked, there must have been a miscommunication. Anyhow, you should have just informed our receptionist and they would be more than glad to assist you with a room of change and also by providing extra blankets, the hotel has plenty of bed covers and there was no need to feel cold. We were just not informed of any of those issues so we were not able to assist. We are also sorry that you lost the room key, our plastic keys are very expensive so it is the hotel policy that in the case the key goes missing we charge 100 HRK to cover the replacement cost. This rule is written inside the in-room directory located in every unity. Another issue mentioned in your review was that you could not use your credit card. Unfortunately, from 2020, American Express cards are no longer accepted in Croatia, nothing we can do about it, sadly. The hotel is well situated in Vela Luka. However the room was very basic for the price and had no view other than surrounding buildings and roof tops. We asked for double room but received a twin. The bed linen was just left folded on the bed rather than the beds being made up.
Staff were not overly welcoming other than the housekeepers cleaning the room. We only received one room card and we were told on arrival that we would have to pay if we lost it. Not the best welcome and not something we have ever come across at any other hotel.
The breakfast was very disappointing. There was nobody to greet us on arrival to explain what was available. We went down to breakfast an hour before end and much of the breakfast buffet food had gone and was slow to be replaced. The food quality was generally poor eg tinned fruit and veg, lack of choice. We believe you could order items but during our 3 night stay we were never offered a breakfast menu, in fact we had little contact with any staff at breakfast.
We would not go back and not recommend others to visit.

Dear Janeto, Thank you for your review. We really appreciate the guests taking the time to leave their point of view. As you mentioned our hotel is located downtown and that is the reason why most of our rooms have a city view. When we book a double standard room you will have a basic standard room, guests that would like a more spacious and chic accommodation will have to spend a bit more and book a family or jr. suite. We have double standard rooms with double and twin beds. Guests that perform a last-minute reservation will be assigned to the unity we have available at that moment, and we believe that was what happened regarding the twin bed issue. Our breakfast menu carries a big variety of dishes, either displayed in our buffet, which is refilled till the end of breakfast time, as well as, guests can order a la card (all they can eat) from omelets, pancakes, waffles, french toast, sandwiches, etc. The waiters do not had breakfast menus for any of our guests since those menus are placed on every table under the plates as table mats, and that is how all other guests place their orders. So we can't quite understand the complaints regarding the poor breakfast option. Also, it is worth mentioning that every breakfast we had daily at least 4 waiters working on the dining floor at the guests' disposal. It is the policy of the hotel like in most hotels that if you lose your room card you have to pay for it, and our receptionists are you executing their duties when they inform the guest about it. Wonderful hotel and a great holiday.
We stayed for 2 weeks in this gorgeous hotel in Vela Luka, which turned out to be a perfect base for exploring the whole island of Korcula, as well as Lastovo island and the towns of Split and Dubrovnik.
We had day trips almost every other day, and the reception staff was really nice and helpful with the arrangements. Special thanks to Ivan and Daria, you guys were the best :).
Not to forget the nearby Proizd island, make sure to visit it if you have the chance.
This was one of the best holidays, we enjoyed every minute, even when we were just resting in our room or lounging next to the pool.
The hotel had everything we needed for relaxation, and all the staff was extremely friendly and eager to assist.
As it was our anniversary they even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and a fruit basket.
That’s why we are a bit puzzled to see some bad reviews about this place. Throughout our stay we didn’t come across anything even remotely negative.
Everything was perfect, from cleanliness, to staff, service and overall ambience.
The town itself is quite nice and peaceful, but also with many interesting sights and great restaurants and taverns.
A visit to Vela Spila cave and a stroll along the world’s longest mosaic walking path is a must.
We ate out a lot, but we always had breakfast at the hotel. It was excellent and with a wide selection of freshly prepared meals.
We also had dinner a few times in the hotel restaurant, and it is highly recommended.
We got to choose our main course, and the salads and side dishes were served at the buffet.

Vela Luka is a lovely place with plenty to see and do.. The hotel is situated in the centre of town, the room we had was very spacious and was facing the front with a sea view. The room was very quiet at night. It was spotless as was the whole hotel, we loved it! The staff were all hard working and so friendly and helpful.
The room had a fridge, safe and free wifi.
Breakfast was excellent and there was hot and cold food. We had half board and it was very good with plenty to eat!

Fantastic stay! Delicious local wine!! From the seafood platter appetizer to the perfectly grilled steak, everything was on point. Sunset view is amazing and you really get the feeling of a floating restaurant amidst the boats in the marina. Very very cool!

Hotel Korkyra is definitely a great option for dinner and was newly renovated for the season 2022.
Another great option is the new Luky Restaurant located in Marina Korkyra serving Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner.
Dear Sarah please ask at reception desk we have shuttle transfer for 35€ to Dubrovnik.

From Split you can get the car ferry (you can walk on you don't need a car) to Vela Luka (it's a 5 min walk from the ferry port to the hotel) and then for Dubrovnik you can get a catamaran from Korkula town. We got a taxi from Vela Luka to the old town it cost £40, the hotel organised it.
You can book the ferries online, or buy tickets on the day. But either way get there early as its first come first served when getting on!
