We stayed three nights in room 711 in the Alii tower of the Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii April 7th to 10th 2021. We had a fantastic time both at the resort, shopping and dining close-by and with our island activities. It was my second time seeing the property but my first time actually staying on the resort. I was impressed with how well it is being kept up and second, how authentically Hawaiian it feels. The huge tree and tall wooden tiki in the car park...the coy pool, the surf crashing on the lava rock coast...and the location in the village of Kona...loved it and will definitely stay here again.

This place has the best location in Kona. You're walking distance away from numerous shops, bars, & restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. The chipotle pasta at Don's martini bar was amazing! I enjoyed my stay.

Our ocean view deluxe rooms was very nice. The only issue we had was that they did not have the room we reserved available for our first night there. This was very disappointing as it was my birthday, and the room they tried to put us in had beds that were kid sized and was not nice at all. After they moved us the room was very nice and we had a great time there.

Nice location and walking distance to great restaurant and shops . Parking is expensive. Property looks old but nicely managed and ocean front swimming pool make it special place to go again. I like salt water lagoon and walk around that street.

The location can't be beat. The room could have used some updating and paint touch-ups, but was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Due to Covid, some facilities including the waterfront Don The Beachcomber bar were closed.
