Mrs. Michele was the difference maker for our trip to New Orleans. Our organization had a major conference at the hotel last weekend and I cannot think Mrs. Michelle enough for her graciousness. Make sure when you come to the Royal Sonesta ask for her!!! She is the truth!

Hotel's Favourite
10 year anniversary/family trip. I’ve been staying at the Royal Sonesta for over 25 years, I have never been disappointed with its professionalism cleanliness and location especially. The amenities are unsurpassed in the French quarter. I have developed hundreds of great memories in and around the hotel. We highly recommend it to anyone that is not afraid to spend a little bit more to stay in the Center of it all , with the perfect amenities.

We booked an interior balcony room. We received the interior walkout balcony room that leads directly out to the pool and pool bar area. This being our 1st time to New Orleans we have nothing to compare it to as far as hotels in New Orleans go. Our room was small and dated. The curtain mechanism for the balcony door was old and tattered so that we had to squeeze through to get out of it. The bed was comfy...room temperature great..bathroom clean. The pool area was nice during the daylight hours only. We saw mice running around in the evening at the pool and balcony areas. Needless to say I did not go out there at night! The hotel lobby area is beautiful which leads you to think the rooms will be the same..NO The interior (balcony, courtyard, pool areas) need a deep cleaning and rehabilitation. It looks old and dirty. On two different nights we were locked out of our room and couldn't get in with the room key. Our room key was deactivated TWICE for whatever reason. Having to go back down to the lobby after a long day was such an inconvenience. The front desk staff were nice but all were not helpful when asked about local dining spots. The bellhop and security staff were nice and very helpful. If you want to be in the action then this is the perfect location directly on Bourbon St. We will choose a much nicer well maintained hotel if we decide to visit New Orleans again. A location away from the loudness and filth of Bourbon St. We stayed in room 3081.

Dear Sam40, Our lobby's grand architecture and beautiful design has been admired by many guests, and we are happy to read that it caught your eye as well. Although we trust that you found our central location to be convenient and enjoyed the more peaceful atmosphere in our courtyard, we regret that there were other details of the experience that fell below expectations. We were elated to have been chosen as your home base during your inaugural visit to the French Quarter and hope to welcome you back in the months ahead and win your heart in full. All the best, Royal Sonesta New Orleans

Royal Sonesta is a much better than average hotel. Accommodations were nice, but I will say that Denise, at the front desk was worth her weight in gold. I believe she went above and beyond with getting me into my room earlier than the scheduled check in time. I am euphoric with her assistance and care. She is top notch and should train all others on what customer service is/should be. I stayed in a Bourbon St balcony suite. I was good. If you do not like late night noise, early morning drummers, you may want to opt for an inside courtyard room. The pool, although smallish, was well received and Patrick at the pool's bar was fantastic. Great drinks, great conversation, and fabulous food. Desire served good food and their wait staff was able to seat my large party (15) without a reservation. They are recommended. Royal Sonesta was also able to cater a brunch for my group's Saturday morning meal requirements. It was remarkable. Attentive staff, great selection of fruit and food, and beverages and quiet location for our meeting. Overall, I recommend this hotel, not because of the rooms, but because of Denise, their location on Bourbon St, amenities, and ability to fulfill business needs at reasonable prices.

Paying $300.00+ per nite should at least assure housekeeping visits each day of your stay. Hotel advises we should request this at check in which we did. After repeated calls to front desk we were required to leave room when housekeeping finally arrived after 3:30pm each day of our stay. Not acceptable for hotel in this price category!

During my latest journey to the USA, my partner and myself visited New Orleans, Louisiana. The travel was planed in details, since this was the first journey after the pandemic. We have chosen The Royal Sonesta Hotel, located in the heart of the French Quarter. To be able to enjoy our visit, we reserved a Club level room, included all services, a guest should enjoy (drinks, snacks, nice ambient, amenities and good service). Upon arrival, we discovered, that there was no Club level, only a very high price of the room was there. We got in contact with the front desk, where a member of staff, explained, that we noticed it correctly. They have no Club Level, meaning no snacks, drinks and other services were included. Due to a very high price of the room, he said, that we can eat and drink on the hotel’s account and apologized. On our departure day and while checking out, there was no deduction of the bill, on the other hand everything we drank and ate (5 x breakfast and 2x dinner) including the Club level room price was on the final bill. We then spoke to four members of the staff of the front desk, while waiting to leave to the airport and we did not finish the business, since we had to catch our plane and the hotels staff kept as waiting and waiting etc. The promised that the Hotel manager would call us later that day and he did not. We called them again and no final solution was found neither Hotel Manager. I sent 5 different emails to the hotel’s front desk and nobody even bothered to answer. It seems like each and every member of the hotel’s staff was either lying to us, playing stupid or simply being totally indifferent to what the explained to us upon arrival. Stay away, future travelers. The Hotel Management is totally incompetent and does not care about giving a good service to their customers. So, I felt, that ‘Royal’ Sonesta N.O. should be baptized to Lousy Sonesta N.O.

Dear daviddevin, We thank you for choosing our property during your most recent visit to the United States and it is our hope that you found our central address made exploring New Orleans a breeze. While we regret that you were caught off guard by the temporary closure of our R Club, we are happy that we were able to offer a nightly discount on your accommodations. We had hoped that this would make up for the lack of club-level amenities and provide greater opportunity for you to explore our food and beverage venues, however, it is disappointing to discover that you did not find our agreement to be sufficient. Your perspective is appreciated, and we hope to one day have the opportunity to restore your confidence in our hotel. All the best, Royal Sonesta New Orleans

From the time we checked in until the time we checked out our stay was nothing but wonderful. Denise at the front desk took care of us and made sure our experience was great. She even remembered my name when I checked out. The room was great. It was right by the pool. It was clean and nice. New Orleans southern hospitality at its best Once again shout out to Denise for taking care of us

When we checked in was greeted by April who completed our checkin and also when she found out it was our Honeymoon she sent a bottle of champagne to our room. Also the front desk Manager Matthew that work the swing shift has been a great help as I've had problems getting signed into the internet and he got me in with no problem. Everyone has gone over and above.
