I went to the hotel to watch the Mardi gras parades, it is on a great location, very close to many attractions and the room was very nice, clean and big. I could walk to different places near the hotel, the area is safe.

If, like our family, you want to experience all New Orleans has to offer, then decompress in a classy, quiet hotel only a few blocks from the French Quarter, then the Jung Hotel is for you. This beautiful, landmark hotel is located on Canal Street, making it within easy walking distance to the French Quarter, but far enough from the crowds and noise for a restful stay. It is also across the street from a main streetcar location, and an easy spot for Uber/Lyft pick-ups since there are no crowd/traffic jams to contend with. But lest you think that the reason to stay here is only the convenience, rest assured you will find the accommodations to be stylish and well appointed, with lots of cool whites, porcelain tiles and dark wood floors. Rooms are spacious, with all the amenities, including an in-room coffee maker and tiny fridge. In room buttons, when pressed, denote either privacy, or the desire for room cleaning. Staff was professional and easy to work with. Restaurant, coffee shop, bar and interesting conversation nooks in the lobby area make for a cozy and intimate environment within the hotel itself. Much to recommend here - check it out.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I originally booked a different hotel in New Orleans but kept reading indifferent reviews about it as time went by, but kept seeing this hotel advertised for a bit extra money, but the reviews in comparison were so much better. So eventually I made the change and was very glad that we moved to the Jung. The rooms are pretty big ( and we had two separate stays here and both were big) and are very well equipped and thoughtfully decorated. The walk in shower area is very big for a hotel, and the bed was big and comfortable. Each room has a large screen TV. Check in both times was very easy and on both stays we were able to stay without issue right up to check out time. We used the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner and every meal we thought was very good and at a very reasonable price. The bar is a bit in of a no man's land occupying an area off the reception area, it's ok staff are nice, one of the beers , a porter was fab. The pool area on the roof would be very nice in summer. The hotel is a 15-20 min walk to the French quarter. We had quiet nights and so sleeping was not an issue. I really rate this hotel and we really liked staying here, Burton Transport provided our transport to and from the airport. We would definitely stay here again. By the way the laundry room on the 2nd floor was very handy, it is free to use, there are two washers and two dryers and washing powder is provided.

We stayed here for 5days in January. The hotel is ‘boutique style ‘ with large open (wasted) spaces. Small cold pool on the roof. Our room was a reasonable size, lovely bathroom. We had a coffee maker in the room which was helpful.
Rooms with kitchens are on floor 2.
There is a microwave on floor 2 in the laundry room!!!! 2 free washing machines and 2 dryers plus a large TV but no seating.
The hotel is about 20-30 mins walk from the French Quarter.
You can catch a tram but until Canal Street is clear, it is quicker to walk. As other guests have stated, I felt uneasy walking back to the hotel in the dark past groups of young men.
Reception staff, concierge and bar staff wonderful, so helpful.
The only downside to the Jung hotel was the service at breakfast and the quality of the food. Coffee arrived with no milk, toast with no butter, poached egg swimming in water, no cutlery on the tables. If you asked for anything it took 10 mins to arrive ( always with an apology or excuse) The expensive, buffet breakfast was never replenished ( once a dish was emptied it was removed). Staff removed the heaters that keep food warm before service had finished. Training and supervision are required. We had breakfast there 3 days and then decided to eat out.
Can thoroughly recommend the Red Slipper across the street. The breakfast queue was long with good reason.
Would I stay again.
Sadly No.
I would select a hotel nearer or in the French Quarter.

Don't let the location throw you off. Sure, the Jung hotel is just far enough down Canal to feel a little shady, but its really just a few minute walk to the heart of the French Quarter. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and very upscale. The rooms are very modern and the bathroom makes you want to take an hour long shower!

Due to new Covid cleaning guidelines, guest rooms are only cleaned once every 3 days...completely understandable. Being that our stay was 3 days, it would have been nice/courteous/hospitable to provide extra trash can liners, ice bucket liners, (as they do tissue) etc. without having to request them. We had 2 rooms, one’s power outlets in half of the room were inoperable, both were without tv service during the entire stay. When we inquired about the aforementioned, we were simply told, “It’s not our fault, it’s due to the storm (which took place over a week a go). I’m ok with that it was resulted from the storm, but the fact that we HAD TO ASK was the issue. There could have been a pre-warning i.e., signage notifying us as such, or simply being verbally informed during check-in. The level of front desk service has somewhat diminished; they were very nice and helpful, albeit, compared to my stays, pre-Covid, were disappointing. Everyone (that we encountered) now sits behind the desk with cell phone in hand, instead of standing and being present as before. To say the least, the typical standards I enjoyed and appreciated have “fizzled out”. There is no longer valet service due to rainy/weather conditions, that lead to flooding. So the hotel has installed flood barriers/walls where valet service previously resided, to prevent flooding in the hotel.

I always try to start a review with a positive so here goes, upon arrival the hotel was clean and when we got to our room it was pleasant. The gym was ok although with the temperature set to 72.5 and no fan or cleaning wipes for the equipment was somewhat off putting. We did try to change the temperature but were unable and In the end we brought our own cleaning wipes down with us. Now for the one star review, upon approach to the hotel people were sitting outside the front doors smoking both cigarettes and weed which was off putting to say the least. As we entered the hotel the staff couldn’t have been more unwelcoming. There was a sign telling us that the pool, bar and restaurant were closed and when we got to our room that housekeeping would be every 3 days. We stayed 6 and never had our room cleaned once even though we called to request it. On the second day I called down for towels and was told to come downstairs to get them, I asked about housekeeping dropping them off as I was ready to shower only to be told that if I could find them on the 6th floor knock myself out. At no time did any employee of the hotel go out of their way to be friendly or helpful. With all the lack of “service” you’d think they’d give a discount or at least let you know days before you are to arrive of the closures so you could make different arrangements. The pool and facilities was the major draw to this hotel. I feel like the use by facilities of the statement “due to Covid” means, due to laziness and the under commitment by facilities owners to pay good wages to staff has lead to unhappy employees who won’t do any more than the bare minimum. We will not be staying at this facility or any facility managed by this group in the future. Don’t waste your money!

This hotel was very nice. Very clean, the staff was very friendly and professional. It seemed to be geared towards conventions but we were staying there for the LSU/Clemson Football Game. My only complaint would be that I reserved 3 rooms, one for each couple and paid for them. All the same type rooms upgraded premium kings and each couple got a completely different type of room. One couple got a massive suite, one couple got a pretty nice room, and we go a very small room. If we were they for the views etc. I would have been extremely upset, but let's face it, you are no staying in New Orleans for any views. The staff was great. It was located at the north end of Canal street so reasonable walking distance to most things.

This hotel is blocks away for bourbon street about a 8min walk or you can catch the streetcar directly out front. The rooms are spacious and clean. Nice pool area with a full bar on the roof as well as a full lobby bar with night time reception. They also offer apts when they are available.

My cousins and I were in town for a girls weekend and chose the Jung as it was most accommodating to our budgets. The property was beautiful, the room was immaculate, and all of the staff were very professional as well as friendly. The location was great for us as the four of us enjoy walking and when we needed our car, accessibility to the interstate and surrounding areas was easy.
