We stayed here during August 2022 as a couple. When arriving by taxi, the roads are very winding and steep & each car that drives down the road to the accommodation must pay 5K every time. I assume it is to pay for costs to improve the road. The staff here are wonderful. They carried our suitcases down to our room and were very welcoming & polite (as are all Balinese people). We were surprised to see how steep the accommodation was, there are many many steps down to some of the rooms which are rather exhausting to walk back up. The place itself provides breakfast, lunch etc. and drinks. The choice isn’t particularly wide & the food isn’t anything special but it is handy because there aren’t many restaurants near by. The view from the pool is absolutely beautiful. You are completely surrounded by the views and sounds of the jungle. This means many jungle creatures (e.g lizards) too that sometimes entered our room because the windows and doors had a gap between the glass and the ceiling/floor! Rooms are very clean and well kept with good working air conditioning. During our stay, there was building work going on (more rooms being made on upper lever) but we did not mind this noise, however some people may dislike this. They tried to complete the work during the day when guests are likely to be out. The pool is well kept. There are only 2 bean bags and 2 sun beds (which are rather uncomfortable). There isn’t much room for anymore sun beds or places to sit either. To get to the centre of Ubud, we mainly walked via the Campuhan Ridge Walk which took about 30 mins to get there. If you do not wish to walk, it is a 20 minute car journey. There are a few small places nearby to get food or drinks, however they are very quiet with no atmosphere. We have enjoyed our stay here but I think the location let us down a little.

We did enjoy ourselves but would never stay again. I realise the family are hard working Insonesians who need our support but felt that the pictures in the property did not depict it properly. From 7-7 there was banging from the property next door and below us. There are open holes above the doorso it's like beling on a building site. Not the family fault. Our bulcamy view was amazing. In 1 years time this place will rock. If you rise early and go to bed early perfect for you. Now...
The real issue I felt aggrieved with. The whole area is operated by an organisation of media taxis. Once you are there you will pay a fortune to leave. They do not allow both grab and blue bird in and are very aggressive. Rent a bike in Ubid if you can.

- Stunning views
- Lovely pool
- Excellent breakfasts- great coffee and best pancakes I had anywhere in Bali
- Very helpful staff- very accommodating when we didn't like the room we were in.

Things to be aware of:
- Some of the rooms are 'standard' rooms with walls, glass etc. Some of them are open air rooms separated from the outside by a curtain. In one of the rooms this wasn't a problem (there was a large mosquito net), but in one of the rooms there wasn't a mosquito net and there were quite a lot of insects. Just something to be aware of and worth checking what room you'll be in when you book.

Overall we had a fab experience though and the staff were great at moving us into a room we were happy with.

stayed here four nights in November last year.i booked two kind of room, first night i stayed at deluxe double room ,the second till fourth nights,at mountain view room.the first night room has a balcony and kitchen, which is nice, cuz it has a fridge, can cool your drinks .and this room is open air,no glass window, you can face the jungle all day long, love it!but the bathroom no drain hole,so water will flows to the room, thats a defect of the room.also wifi here not strong, maybe it is in the jungle,so signal not strong.the mountain view room is located beside the road, but still can see the jungle, and windowless also.i dont like its glass door, hope it can be a traditional wooden door, but anyway,i did enjoy my jungle stay here.there is a pool here, but not suitable for kids, very deep, your feet cant touch the ground. be careful if you bring your kids here. breakfast is great, they have three options, i had balinese breakfast,it included fruits platter, coffee or tea, chocolate bun and balinese rice crackers. you can upgrade your breakfast by extra money, during the stay,i add mie goreng, nasi goreng, scrambled eggs with toast , omelette with toast, all were delicious. i love everything i had. also,i love the Balinese rice cracker, crunchy and yummy! you can have your breakfast in your room, beside the pool or at the reception area, i chose to dine at the reception area, there is a dog there, shared some of my food to it. the owners's daugther handle everything, you can ask her if you need help. the owner Made is a painter, met him there and had some short chats.i did laundry there also, reasonable price.hope can back to Made Punia's jungle very soon.

The positive. The open view room is indeed an open, panoramic great view of the jungle. The pool is large and clean.
The negatives.
check in time is 2pm at 2::40 our room was ready. This place has an incredible amount of stairs to get anywhere. Checkin is down a lot of stairs, dangerous with luggage. I had to leave my partner at the roadside with the rest of the luggage and repeatedly had to ask staff to go up to help her. Not a great check in experience.
The room was a surprise as its not in the major complex but next door on the roadside, with all the noise. Also inconvenience to get to the swimming pool.
The room is a converted shop with the original full glass walls and door, so you are in a fish bowl unless you always keep the curtains closed. There is a lot of foot traffic.
Food and drink is taken in your room and only ordered on the Whatsup app. Last night's dinner plates were not taken from our room until mid afternoon the next day, we had to ask for them to be taken.
Food was continously late, up to 70 minutes and of average quality. We had to skip breakfast after waiting for the 70 minutes, even though we warned them of our driver arriving at a set time..
Their continuous reply to all this, was we are very busy.
We got the wrong bill on checkout and they had to ammend it.
Overall, not run well and you have been warned.

Absolutely horrible place to stay, extremely rude staff with ‘don’t care’ attitude. Rooms are not secure, our room had balcony with no windows separating from the room, hence it was open with many lizards in the room including big ones. Advertised pictures are nowhere near the real things. So stay away from the property, and obviously we booked through booking.com and their customer support is extremely bad too.

If you’re offered the ‘villa’ room 16-
Go elsewhere, there is mould all over the ceilings.
Ants & lizards everywhere.( as the rooms are open to the outside
Wood rotting , literally missing glass window in bathroom - In serious need of TLC!
Asked for a room change & tried to charge double! With this said -
The rest of the place is decent & Nice views of the jungle

more than two years not coming to Bali,so when border reopened,i cant wait, straight to Bali at end of May.the first three nights i stayed is Made punia jungle.finally, back to jungle again.this time i stayed in deluxe double room, the one i stayed for one night in 2019 November.room quite the same, but feeling different.there is a balcony, can sit there to view the jungle.there is a fridge, which is great, evrytime i buy drinks in ubud,i can keep them cool here.the bathroom is half open, very natural in jungle. breakfast have to buy on site, you can WA the staff every morning, during the stay,i had lots of food, love its mie goreng, omelette and scrambled eggs.all yummy, this time i chose to dine in my room,be noted that there are many ants in the jungle,so you have to have your food quickly,or your food will be enjoyed by them.dont blame the ants, cuz it is natural. room soundproofing not good if you mind this, cuz you have traditional roof here not modern one.i dont mind this,it is very natural to hear human voice,so those who stay here should note this, and keep your voice down, cuz you will be heard by others.you can enjoy sunrise, sunset here.it is a bit far from ubud center, each day i go to ubud via campuhan ridges by foot.so you can save taxi fares if you walk.at night i used gojek to go back,no problem at all, like what i did in 2019.i will be back again, there are other room types in Made Punia,i may try other one next time.

We’ve turned up after travelling from uluwatu where we’ve had a great stay to the made punia jungle hotel after booking through booking.com to find it’s still under construction with guys building .cement mixers spinning .with the only three rooms ready being the ones we had booked the pool was finished with a great view but covered in cement dust. No bar no restaurant and the reception are full of the builders mopeds see pictures attached don’t book here for atleast the next six months

Amazing room! The view from the room was spectacular. You truly have the feeling of being in the jungle. The pool is also great, we enjoyed it very much. Staff was very kind and friendly.
Downside: a bit far from the centre (we spent on taxi), the room door doesn’t lock easily so you have to be careful and cautious.
