This was my first time in Bali and I stayed here for my first night before meeting up with my cousin and staying in Seminyak the following stay. Staff here were pleasant, room was clean as well as being a decent size and the price of staying on the main strip was just a bargain. I didn't get to use the facilities as I did not stay there long enough, however I did go check them out and they seemed clean and in order. The buffet breakfast had a great variety so no complaints there from me. If I go back I would definitely like to stay here again as it was close to the beach, shops, clubs, restaurants. You basically walk out of the hotel and everything you need is within walking distance for you.

Great location and friendly staff but the room was a big let down. The bed was uncomfortable, the balcony was so tiny that two people couldn’t really fit on it and the air conditioning either turned off or switched itself to 23 degrees which made the room too warm to sleep. Nice pool area but the pool was shallow and pumped out very loud music the whole time. If you want a peaceful night sleep then I would suggest going elsewhere.

Dear 742013, Warmest greetings from Sun Island Hotel & Spa Legian. Thank you for leaving us an honest review of your recent stay. We understand that our rooms along with the layout and the bed did not quite meet your preference. Additionally, we have taken your feedback regarding the air-conditioner and the music at Sunken Pool Bar into our immediate concern. On the other hand, we are pleased to know that our location, our pool, and our hospitality still met your expectations. Please be assured your feedback would be passed on to our team as a reminder to keep delivering the finest service in making every stay as comfortable as possible. In the end, we do hope to welcome you back in the future with improved service and warmer hospitality during your next Bali getaway. Best regards, Paskalis Damar (Public Relations - Sun Island Bali),

We absolutely loved our time here. Staff treated us like royalty.
Rooftop bar appears to have been shut for a wee while?
Inhouse massages were amazing.
A wee bit noisy with the music at night and street noise in the morning.
Awesome location! Loved being so close to everything!
Very clean.
Would stay again, but might choose our own room, we stayed in room 105, might try and get a room on the opposite side to try and lower the noise from the cars etc in the mornings outside our room :)
Breakfast was good, nothing special but definitely enough options to keep everyone happy.

The hotel is well positioned in Legian, with access to shops and restaurants. Beach is a 15 minute walk along a very busy route. Room was good, pool bar with sunken bar great. Breakfast was average but there were some minor issues - like a shortage of eggs one morning to make an omelette, very stale pastries, not a great selection of fruit. We had a cocktail drink included in our rate but the selection was very poor and on more than one occasion not available due to a shortage of the required fruit - eg watermelon. Legian is a very busy and bustling area, lots of clubs and restaurants and local shops, overall a good experience with minor issues.

We came here for our honeymoon but after our first night here we are already looking to leave and book somewhere else.
We booked a deluxe room which is not deluxe at all. When we checked in the room it was very dirty and stunk of mould,we could barely breathe in there. We asked to be moved witch they did straight away but the new room is as dirty as the first one. Took my shoes off after a long day of traveling and after 2 min walking barefoot in the room,my feet were black.
Wifi in the room does not work, only in public areas.
Swimming pool advertised to be open from 7 am,8:30 we went there and were told that is closed for the day.
Wanted to go to the hot tub which is advertised on their website but found out it doesnt exist so we spend our first day if the honeymoon walking around legian looking for hotels to move in to and trying to get in touch with their manager to get our money back so we can move hotels.

Awful!
Please do not stay at this hotel. The hotel has no care or compassion for its hotel guests, that have saved a year to have a holiday.
The pool area is not useable, broken decking with huge holes all over. You get splinters just walking to a lounger. The pool looks dirty and grim.
Bedrooms to the left hand side of hotel have another hotel within feet of you with around 15+ noisy fans or air con on constantly so you cannot sleep.
To the right hand side there is a hotel, or someone's home with around 10 dogs that bark constantly.
Staff hardly acknowledge you!
In my opinion having been 3x to Bali, there are so many hotels, you have such a huge choice to choose from. Do not waste your hard earned money here!

If you want a great hotel with kind and caring staff, Plus be walking distance to everything needed eg: Beach, Shops, Markets, Tattooists & great street food and shops ? Then.....The Sun Island Hotel And Spa is the place for you. A quiet hotel and Non smoking rooms are what I like but still close enough to walk to the party zones and return to a quiet place to sleep. A+++++ for this Hotel.

The pool on the 3 floor is exactly 1.2 metres. There's a pool on the roof which isn't used very often, but that one is alot shallower than the one one the 3rd floor
