Detailed Reviews
Great place to stay if you don’t want to stay in a large resort full of families. Very quiet place away from the road. Nice tropical, well maintained gardens make it very relaxing. We requested a villa up the back of the property away from the street noise and bars. Pool was nice and not crowded so could always get a lounge. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The toilet, shower and kitchenette are outside the bedroom but was under cover and perfectly fine as the weather is always warm. Compared to the price of other hotels in Seminyak it was great value for money, close to bars and restaurants and only a short walk to the beach. Would recommend for a great priced stay for those looking for more authentic Bali accommodation.

Great staff who were very friendly and went out if their way to be helpful. Excellent location in the central area and a short walk to the beach. It had a beautiful garden and pool and a wonderful outdoor shower, with a very comfy bed. We would recommend.

The Putu bali Villa and Spa is a great place to stay. Very friendly staff and nice quite location.
Don't bother with the included breakfast - there's so many cheap places within walking ditance of the hotel and it's great to pretty much eat food cooked by local "mums"
The rooms are big and clean, the kitchen is function - why would you cook when great food is so cheap - and the outdoor shower is great. They have the biggest baths i have ever see - reckon you could fit 10 people in them no problem!
For the price I don't think you can do any better. Only a few minutes walk to the beach!!!!

We were looking forward to staying in the villa. It wasn’t exactly a very warm welcome from the staff that checked us in, although quick the process lacked any personal touch which we’d received at other hotels during our visit to Bali.
We were then taken to our villa, on the way there is was clear that the pictures were “very good” and in my opinion were not representative of what we saw in person.
The villa bedroom and kitchen were small and not the cleanest. The bath, shower and toilet were outside with dim lighting, the villa seemed rather dark.
After an hour of being there we decided it wasn’t for us and checked out to return to our previous hotel. I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

I love his place for its thatched roof bungalows which remind me of the beautiful old-style losmens that use to grace the shores of Legian and more remote destinations in Bali.
It's intimate, you have the pleasure of engaging with the friendly (long serving) staff and at the same time, have all the mod cons you would expect from a boutique hotel in the Seminyak area - just a little more homely.
And of course now all the most fabulous restaurants, beauty salons, cafes & shops have sprung up around it.
Putu Bali Villa's is my first choice for my stop-overs in Bali. I've stayed over 6 times in the past 8 years.

Some people are just miserable and angry which has clearly clouded their judgement and overall ability to enjoy a beautiful little slice of paradise!
Putu Villa and Spa is a small property with only 20 rooms. The beautiful pool sits halfway between the rooms with a swim up bar that is always open when guests are frequenting.
Breakfast has an unreal selection of sumptuous goodness and the coffee ain't too bad...
The front desk is open 24hours and the staff are more than happy to assist you! Some language barriers but that's expected!
We are staying in a one bedroom super deluxe villa. The bed is super comfy, the LG TV and DVD are great for a lazy day or evening in! The surround sound is tops! Our bathroom, outdoor shower and huge bathtub are wonderful! There's something special about having a shower with the morning sun shining directly on you!! Our toilet does not smell and it flushes perfectly well.
The mini kitchen is a great addition although we've so far only made a cup of tea for ourselves.
Room service is great, they're very thorough and always leave the room looking perfectly neat and fresh!
Yes there is construction next door but it doesn't start until 8:30am and its not noticeable by the pool or in your room if you have the air-con cranked!
Mosquitos are present but they are present everywhere in Bali. The staff supply you with a large can of repellent and a constant Bagon air mystifier runs. We purchased two more Bagon air mystifiers for good measure at the local Circle K for pittance and are so far doing pretty well!
Potato Head is a hop skip and jump and Ku De Ta is a 5 minute taxi ride. Sarong is so close it's not funny!
To access the beautiful beach, cut through one of the large hotels to the right of Putu Villa and you're there in an instant!
Ignore miserable angry people comments! Clearly they wish they could afford the ritz but can't and will continue to be grumpy about that for some time!

I first stayed at this hotel 15 years ago, as then I needed a quiet sanctuary amidst the chaos of Seminyak, but in a good location. I have stayed here on numerous occasions since that time.
It's definitely not a four star hotel, but rather a cosy yet simple 2 or 3 star facility with nice staff and rows of individual small villas separated by a single and long pathway.
The pool is lovely. Always has been. And the staff are friendly.
On this trip however, the inevitable has happened with Australian travel agents now promoting Putu Bali Villa and Spa Hotel, and the owners have been building a cafe come bar at the front of the site. It's made for Aussies with big screens so we can all get drunk watching football.
The hotel was fully booked; mostly with Australians so it was Bintang beer in the pool at 9am, and last night at 1am I lay in my villa listening to drunken Aussies across the pathway yelling loudly and telling each other to "f..k off you fat "pr..k". Why do my fellow Australians carry-on like this when the Balinese are such polite and quiet people?
I guess I was spoiled for far too long. Today, this hotel makes serious money from Aussies with tattoos, beer drinking and parties. But it is definitely not for me.
So sampai jumpa Bali Putu, as now I have found a quieter place with a more courteous clientele. But if you want a smaller hotel that whilst a bit period and old, but full of Aussie mates, this is where you should go.
Enjoy.

We had booked a 2 day stay in Putu Bali Villa and spa reading the ratings on tripadvisor. But it was such a put off as there were lizzards in rooms, the staff was rude , the rooms were dirty specially the toilet and the kitchen it provided..
Unfortunately we had paid the entire money upfront while booking else would have never stayed..
The ratings for this property is miss leading as its a shady 3 star property which is highly priced !!

Dear Niketa Malhotra, Warmest greeting from Putu Bali Villa & Spa Thank you very much for your stay with us and thank you for your review as well. We are in tropical island and we designed the garden as a tropical garden where a lot of plants you could see in the garden. There are several frogs, lizards, squirrels and gecko you could see around here and it is normal in tropical island. But, if you mentioned that there were lizards in the room, you should call the staff to came to the room and the staff would definitely help you. We can not stop if one of those tropical animals come into the room, but if there is any, so we suggest to the guest to call the staff to take it out from the room. "They are tame animal and definitely will not bite or attack any one here" One thing we would like to know from you is regarding your review that mentioned "the staff was rude", could you tell us here, what kind of rude thing they did to you? we need to know this because "always" ask and train the staff to be a friendly and accommodating to everyone here. Our culture here teach us to be a friendly people and it is a easy thing for us to learn it, and our daily life here goes on very friendly and easy, many people know about it. That's why when you mentioned "the rude staff" we want to know what they did to you? mention it clearly please! Well, hope you will have great day a head !!! 3 females stayed here for 5 nights during April 2015. The villa was clean and tidy and supplied everything you need during the stay. The shower was amazing and the bath huge! Fresh bottled water is also provided to your room each day during cleaning. We stayed in villa 2011 which was set back from the street with close access to the pool. Live bands are on stage Friday and Saturday nights and from our room we could not hear them when playing. The swim up bar was lovely and always had a smiling face to serve whatever you needed. We booked with the breakfast included and found their breakfast menu had a wide variety of options to satisfy even the pickiest eater. In this area there is a mosquito problem at certain times of the year so the resort and surrounding resorts do use a fogger occasionally to try and combat this problem. They do notify guests before spraying to give you the opportunity to vacate for around 10 minutes. I do suggest you vacate when this happens! The rooms are airtight and a mosquito net is provided for further comfort. The staff here are very helpful and go out of their way to ensure an enjoyable stay. Location is good for access to Potato Head Beach Club, beautiful restaurants and there is a lovely massage place within a 1 minute walk. There is also markets close by but I would recommend taking a taxi to kuta for the serious shopping where they are more willing to negotiate. The resort is more than happy to arrange a driver or taxi to take you where ever you want to go. We ended up using a private driver "Toples Tours." All in all a great place to stay for a very affordable price. We will be staying here again when we come back!

We stayed at Putu Villas in January as a group. We had the very front room, accommodation was clean and staff were excellent.
Shower was right next to the bathroom/toilet area with only a very small glass screen between the two areas that didn't come out far enough to stop the bathroom from flooding with water, also no shelf in the mirror section for cosmetics etc. Was pressure was very god though.
Good location, not central Seminyak but close enough for a 15 minute walk. Also on a great street that had most things you would require, DVD store with good quality, good cafe/restaurant options, massages etc and very close to Potato Head. I preferred being away from the bustle of central Seminyak and our little street had everything we wanted. I highly recommend The Deck, awesome food and cocktails.
Pool was great, the area around the pool a little on the small side, not enough pool chairs in busy times.
Breakfast was nice, made to order with a few continental options left out (bread for toasting, spreads, fruit, pastries). The made to order menu had plenty of hot options and yummy banana pancakes.
I've stayed a lot nicer places in Bali but it was reasonably priced and staff were very nice and helpful. I think the staff in most places are helpful though and the amenties were lacking slightly for my preferences.
One downside was the restaurant didn't have any airconditioning and even at breakfast in the morning it was boiling hot and many mornings they didn't even have the fans on!

Dear Bhumi L,
Warmest greeting from Putu Bali Villa and Spa,
Good Afternoon, first of all thank you very much for your inquiry, yes you are right Super Deluxe Pavilion Villa has a bath tub as the same with Deluxe Pavilion Villa and all of other facilities of both rooms are almost the same, what is makes them different is the Super Deluxe Pavilion Villa has bigger space in the main bedroom than Deluxe Pavilion Villa and it also has combination between traditional and modern style if comparing with the Deluxe Pavilion Villa only has traditional style.
Hopefully, all clear now and thank you very much for your kind cooperation.
Have a great day ahead...

Dear Bhumi L,
Warmest greeting from Putu Bali Villa and Spa,
Good Afternoon, first of all, thank you very much for your inquiry, we need to inform you that the Deluxe One Bedroom Villa has a bathtub with shower which is still inside the building and besides that, we have also an open shower for the second option which will offer you a different shower experience.
Yes, we have a mosquito nett over the bed in the main-bedroom so it can protect the guest from the mosquitoes when sleep. We do a fumigation once a week as well in order to decrease the mosquito.
Hopefully, all clear now and thank you very much for your attention.
Please feel free to contact us should you have any further assistance.
Have a great day ahead...

While they say the bath is "in the building" it is still every bit open air as the shower. It just has a roof, but it's outdoors. You will be bathing with mozzies.
familyoffour_2010_10 asked a question Jan 2017
Auckland Central, New Zealand99 contributions29 helpful votesHi
We are looking at the 2 bedroom deluxe villa. I have been reading other reviews, can you please advise whether the staircase to the upper level/bedroom is internal access from the lower level or is it an external staircase? Thanks
Hi...
We have two types of two bedroom, such as:
- Two bedroom with 2 stories building, and
- Two bedroom inter-connecting.
The staircase in 2 stories building is an external staircase but still in unit building, it means that the staircase is located at the terrace of downstairs room, so it is still in one building and it is not for public staircase, it is only for the guest staying in this room.
This kind of two bedrooms is located in the pool side.
The two bedroom with inter-connecting is located near to the lobby and restaurant and both rooms are in ground floor with inter connecting door inside the room.
