I visited this place on 4th January 2020.,for our class reunion. To begin with as per my expectation i found this property below par as mentioned on many accounts.

1. The first most irritating point is the road to reach this place. No steps had been taken to improve it.
2. Once you enter the property, you find it very difficult at times to reach your room. The structure and management seem pretty basic and old.
3.rooms seems pretty basic, with no concept of modern touch and you can see basic distemper paints over filled up cracks on wall.
4. Some rooms are isolated and stinking and we have to change accordingly.
5. Restaurants closed at night after dinner, with no option of any midnight binging or simple eating.
6. Frequent light cut outs and generator issue were there, which were handled immediately.
7. Food was pretty basic with very limited options for both veg and nonveg. Dessert spread was reduced to tasteless cake, and staled carrot halwa.
Breakfast was also basic with limited spread, slightly unhygienic especially the outside live counter for dosa and omlette.
Tea not at all soothing and tasteless.
8. Moisturiser given in room was very poor quality with no effectiveness at all.

Only point this place if any one like me would be visiting will be only for morning sunrise view which was breathtaking.

Otherwise this place is total no from my side unless and until management take step to recruit proffesional staff for each and every department.

Be it from chef to room services, i didnt find this resort appealing complying to visit this place in near future.

Upperdeck - as the name suggests, decks at different level overlooking the picturesque valleys. Perfect room setting in a awesome atmosphere. Post small initial hick ups on check in it was the most comfortable stay. Thanks a lot to General Manager Saurabh who personally attended to my query and had a solution
Due to Covid few rooms were occupied. Though operating with minimalistic staff all the guests were promptly attended.
Special thanks to Hari at reception, restaurant manager (sorry missed his name) and restaurant service staff Dhondiba. All were very courteous.
Food was amazing,simple and tasty.

Must visit place for all couples and families.
Few public areas are yet to function, hence call and cross check as per your preferences.
Location, room quality, food, service all 5/5

Made a special request for celebrating my wife’s birthday. Same was immediately acknowledged rather they went overboard and offered us complimentary wine and late check out.

Kudos to Saurabh and his team who are performing their best with all current challenges in the hospitality industry.
Shall visit soon

Property is great , location is great, food is good.

The points which affect the overall experience and don't have any cost attached to it are:
1. As the place is quite remote, you are somewhat relieved when you reach there. But at the entrance, the guy is an underpaid security guy. No smile. Not interested to comfort the guest, but looks like peon in school who is only interested in making some bureaucratic entries. Needs improvement.
2. Reception staff is similar. They are more focused to somehow completing the procedure, and not interested in guest comfort. Highly under informed.
3. Parking advice needs to be there instead of 'no parking' boards placed all over.
4 Cleaners invariably leave dirt at the cottage doors.
5. For resort type location, continuous deep cleaners are needed to clean the empty water bottles and wrappers thrown around.

As regards to the salary is concerned – we are paying them as per Industry Standards. 2) The Front Office Team has also been briefed with Soft-Skills, wherein the Government Statutory matters are to be duly complied and also guest comfort must be taken care off with utmost care. 3) We have a Security Guard who directs & guides our esteemed guests to the designated parking area. In all, there are two ‘No Parking’ boards in our resort and NOT placed over. These ‘No Parking’ boards are there to ensure that no one parks their respective vehicles in haphazard manner to avoid inconvenience to our guests. 4) The Housekeeping & Public Area Team have been alerted to ensure that, respective garbage / thrash is to be taken over & placed to the designated areas with proper segregation of Dry & Waste garbage keeping the property clean & hygienic. We also have Plastic Free Days organized at our resort at regular intervals. Planning a wedding from another country seemed like an impossible task for me especially within a
time frame of 7-8 months without physically being there. After hours of research in trying to find the perfect wedding destination , I came across this small quaint resort in Lonavla. It fit perfectly within my criteria of being scenic, serene and not too far from Mumbai.
From the moment I contacted the Management team with my wedding query, they became an important part of my wedding . The management was upfront honest about their policies and quotations.
Especially Mr.Jayesh Kadam who assisted me in the whole planning process. He totally understood my requirements and gave me suggestions of how they could make my wedding from their past wedding experiences. From customizing the food menu to other services like music and entertainment, the management team was super accommodating to cater my needs.

Moving on to the actual venue, the pictures do not do justice to it. It is extremely beautiful and scenic, surrounded by the mountain ranges and the lake. The wedding decor by Innovative Events just elevated the beauty of the venue and made my wedding picture perfect.
The food was super delicious, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.And they have a huge variety in the savory section.
The staff was extremely courteous and ensured that all my wedding guests were taken care of.
The rooms and the facilities like pool, game room etc were well maintained all the times.

The only point that was a bit bothersome was the network connectivity. Being at such a height, not a lot of cellular networks have range out there. Also there is very limited Wi-fi range only in the reception area. So, communicating with people without phones was a bit of a challenge but nevertheless it was an experience. Even though it was challenging, it didn’t bother me much because my guests now were far away from their phones and busy lives and truly participated and enjoyed the wedding without any distractions.

To summarize, UpperDeck Resort is the perfect destination wedding venue . I highly recommend it not just for weddings or events, but even for a quick getaway if you wish for a peace of mind.

We had our BDS class Reunion on 4th and 5th Jan 2020 in UpperDeck Resort.We were a group of 55 batchmates.
Despite of the many offers we received from other hotels, we decided for Upper Deck Resort because of the unbeatable deal they offered us.
It was a very good decision; We enjoyed the ambience, the food, all other arrangements- the high quality offered in all the facilities of this gorgeous resort. The excellent service of the staff in every segment of the resort.They gave us an excellent package with all meals, stay, DJ, Cocktail starters, Banquet hall,Bonfire,etc etc ( one day one night package)at a very good price.The ambience and location is awesome, rooms very clean, the food very tasty .Except for few issues like the rooms being scattered around at different levels because of the terrain, we had no problems with the arrangement at all.
Every staff member with whom we came in contact was attentive, kind and professional including receptionists, the helpers and waiters, also the restaurant management and Mr Jayesh Kadam, who patiently worked through the deal and our queries from time to time very patiently.
We will definitely recommend Upper Deck Resort to everyone for corporate n group events.

We checked in on Wednesday October 6, at 2 pm and was treated to a poor customer service from the beginning . We asked them if we could order lunch and they refused point blank that we do not serve ala carte menu or room service, kept going back to our booking.
Ok we said they’d fine, then they do not have wifi in the rooms, we met that go to.
We were told they do not provide room service, we have pics of served food outside other guests room. I will post it .
Then we asked them for ice in the room, again we were told to walk to the restaurant in the rain to pick ice up as they do not bring it to the room. That was also charged 150 RS, pls note the refrigerator in the room was not working and we had to ask for a replacement.
Next morning , we go to the reception to request late checkout, without asking our room number, the person say No point blank for late checkout, for Pete’s sake it’s Thursday, hotel has only 10 families.
So we are now checking out at 10:30, it’s a very disappointing vacation.
Only the view is good the rest be prepared to be treated to very untrained staff!!!!

Whilst staying on this topic, please find our clarifications towards your concerns below: 1) Room Service & À La Carte Service: We always keep wondering why our patrons keep on mentioning the concern of Room Service & À La Carte Service when as we do not have - published NOT ONLY on our website BUT ALSO on all Online Channel Partners, (The option of aforementioned service/s is disabled), however, as a special case, at our discretion, we do extend the same during low occupancy & with limited dishes for people with DIFFERENTLY-ABLED PEOPLE / PREGNANT LADIES / INFANTS / SENIOR CITIZENS. You have booked via our website – all non-operational services were duly mentioned on not only on our website but also on the booking confirmation voucher too. 2) Wi-Fi: We certainly have Wi-Fi available in designated areas near reception and we are at mercy of only one local service provider – again with their service too, the service is intermittent !! If one desires a good break, our resort is certainly IDEAL, in that case, one does not want to be disturbed – in a way one can take Intermittent Wi-Fi and Mobile Connectivity in a positive way. Also, again, our EVER EAGER Wonderful Front Office Team is always Happy to assist in case you wanted to speak to someone – they usually assist by allowing 1 - 2 phone calls from the Official Mobile Phones - again - we never got any information regarding the same. 3) As regards to the picture that you posted with the perception that we served the food to the guest, we would like to let you know that, we DID NOT serve the same any guest/s. The guest themselves carried the same. 4) Yes, ice in Ice-bucket is chargeable and the same was announced while you asked for the same, if one buys Liquor from us, we supply ice in Ice-Bucket without any charge. As regards to Refrigerator – we take complete onus for it’s malfunction and kindly accept our apologies towards the same, though, It was identified as a technical fault; it was duly checked and it was fully operational before the room was allotted to you. 5) Late Check-Out: Even though there were fewer rooms on the date of your Check-In, however, allowing Late Check-Out is entirely at the discretion of Management and on the day of your Check-Out we had a group booking check-in by Noon, hence, had to ensure readiness of the allotted rooms. 6) Employee Training: We keep on training our employees which is a cyclic process round the year. Many of them are new at this time of the year, hence, it’s their first interaction in the Service / Hospitality Industry. They are certainly doing their best & like any Service / Hospitality / Manufacturing / Processing / Any Industry, we are in constant process to groom them to be the best soon. It's a wonderful place with serene beauty & peaceful location. It's situated high up in the mountains so makes it very unique from others. The service was average as we had to summon the housekeeping & maintenance staff at times. The Sr. Executive Manager, Sundar was cooperative & made sure we got the Cottage of our choice with the best view quickly as we had opted for an early check-in (it was clearly mentioned during bookings that early check-in will be provided only if our Cottage was available so please don't expect the same service every time you reach early). The food was overpriced but in terms of taste & spread it was nice & with no other options nearby you're bound to have your meals at the property or travel 3.5/4 kms to & from every time you decide to eat. The approach road is not good as it's not been maintained. Upon inquiry with the hotel management they apprised that if they would be allowed they would repair the whole stretch but they can't as it's a Forest property where private or even govt. authorities (Municipality or Gram Panchayat) can't make any changes to repair the road, Overall a nice short holiday at a good location & with everything available above you barely feel the need to go downhill, including swimming pool, children play area & lots of open area for photography/selfies.

We want to place on record that, very few of our esteemed guests understand and respect our policies categorically regarding the Check-In & Check-Out times and allotment of rooms as per availability. Whilst staying on this topic, please find our clarifications towards your concerns below: Housekeeping and Maintenance: We have alerted the respective departments and have counselled them to be prompt at all times. Location: Our Heavenly Abode is nestled in a very Serene Location & next to the Reserve Forest, away from the Hustle & Bustle of the City. We are certainly connected to Rail & Road Transport, i.e., Lonavala Station is hardly 5 KMS from our resort. If one requires any transportation, our EVER EAGER Wonderful Front Office Team is always Happy to Assist – unfortunately, we never got any information regarding your Travel Arrangement/s. The cost for Auto / Taxi is between INR 300/- to 800/- respectively – we are quite sure that the Google Community would agree that, this is quite common for a Tourist Place with a 5 KMS distance. Furthermore, there are more than 100 plus hotels and restaurants in and around Lonavala and one can certainly explore a few. Road: We are at the mercy of the Forest Department, Lonavala Municipal Corporation & Gram Panchayat towards the road issue, hopefully, this will be attended by them to boost tourism. Even with the existing road, our resort has witnessed the vehicles right from Auto Rickshaw, Nano to Rolls Royce Phantom, hence, clearing the dark clouds of restriction to accessibility to our resort. It is our constant perseverance and endurance to train our employees to provide the best services and ensure that all our esteemed guests have great memories to share with their colleagues, family and friends. Upper deck once upon a time was highly recommended....alas just once upon a time! Only the location is nice ...food is terrible, no hospitality or customer service of any sort, run down rooms and tapestries. Unkempt common areas - which resort doesn't put on lights during rains and drk? The walk from restay to room post dinner was by the mobiles flashlight to avoid slipping or tripping over! And absolutely no covid protocols in place. Best avoided - now as well as in future.

Great location and views although the last leg of the approach road is very narrow and in a poor condition. A sign board with direction arrow at the last junction would help motorists in easily finding the place.
The breakfast was included and had a good variety. The meals were also of a good variety and taste but the paid meals were a bit pricey.

The room size was decent but was of average quality and ambience but the bathroom / toilet was clean.

Only a very FEW Deluxe Rooms have a good outside view. Most overlook another cottage. For a good view of the mountains , you have to book a Cottage at an extra cost.

Overall it was an enjoyable experience and a quiet vacation from the hustle bustle of the city life.

Worst experience, worst then a lodge, just great location by which people are fooled. Stayed in Deluxe room but just big size, Bath room has no door mate and when we asked for sleeper it was refused, so big bathroom but smallest size wash basin and soap and glass kept in a way which can fall anytime (pics enclosed) . People are very rude, average breakfast spared, no ala cart so are farced to have there fix menu and exorbitant price even if you want light dinner and road is so bad that rainy season going out in night is difficult. Don't get fooled by great location as for enjoying great location you need comfortable stay too. Giving one star to location too as no proper direction from city and very bad road.

Kindly treat this stay as a case of isolation & we will ensure that, you would notice a significant change during your next visit. Whilst staying on this topic, please find our clarifications towards your concerns below: Requesting you to not to demean our Property & compare it with a Lodge - your comments are without any Cognizance towards rational comparison on this subject. 1) À La Carte & Room Service: We do not have À La Carte service & Room Service/s (published on our website & is not an option on Online Channel Partners too), however, as a special case, at our discretion, we do extend the same during low occupancy & with limited dishes for people with DIFFERENTLY-ABLED PEOPLE / PREGNANT LADIES / INFANTS / SENIOR CITIZENS. On EXPEDIA – the very fact that the Room Service for Food & Beverage is not there in the amenities list – clearly indicates that, the aforementioned service is not in Operation. 2) Bathroom Slippers are not a part of our Amenity. 3) Road: We are at mercy of Lonavala Municipal Corporation, Forest Department & Gram Panchayat towards the road issue, hopefully, this would be attended by them to boost tourism. Even with the existing road, our resort has witnessed the vehicles right from Auto Rickshaw, Nano, Super Cars to Rolls Royce Phantom, hence, clearing the dark clouds of restriction to accessibility to our resort. 4) Regarding Food, our efforts have been always to ensure that we serve the best food across Lonavala, an attempt is to satisfy everyone, even though we are well aware that, in the matter of food, taste do differ from person to person. We certainly try and customize as our guest/s taste during low Occupancy.
