I had some concerns after recent reviews and prepared for the worst. I travelled from London with a friend for a week in NYC . We got an Uber from JFK. Reasonable price and really quick.
The hotel is not perfect (such as hand held shower missing so shower cap was needed and bathroom door was half missing). However, it didn't matter to us as we were so impressed with the size of our suite and the comfort of our beds.
There was no maid service but there was a coffee machine a microwave in the room and staff were very responsive to our requests.
We slept well every night without noise disturbance.
The local area is lively, especially around the subway station. There appeared to be alot of homeless people and the corners felt a bit like an episode of the Wire at times but everyone was friendly towards us.
Davids Brisket House round the corner was a great place to get a decent sandwich and absorb the characters from the neighbourhood.
The hotel is situated close to the A and C lines with great links to Manhatten. The room was nice and really good value for money. I would stay here again.

Overall, this property would be pretty amazing with some simple fixes and upkeep. The rooms, hallways, lobby are all updated but have some things (mostly furniture and trim) that needs to be replaced/repaired. I stayed in the Executive Suite which was nice, and on the backend of the building so it was quiet enough by NY standards. Went to an amazing Thai restaurant just around the corner. Front desk staff was very professional and friendly. I would stay again.

My family and I temporarily relocated to Brooklyn to help during the COVID 19 crisis. The staff have been more than amazing! John and Joey have been so helpful during our stay. We haven’t met an employee that hasn’t been great to us. Everyone is always willing to help. The rooms are so spacious and housekeeping does a fabulous job keeping this hotel clean. The breakfast is always perfectly set up and it’s so nice to grab a bite and a cup of fresh coffee in the morning. This hotel also has a great location! I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!

I would give zero stars if possible. I am so disappointed in this place I don't even know where to begin other than admitting it's my own fault and I should have checked the other reviews before booking. This hotel LIES. The pictures posted online are clearly either fake or at least a decade old. The hotel is filthy and outdated, as well as poorly lit. The neighborhood it's in, isn't great and there are no additional security precautions for the guests. They also advertise breakfast, and have a spot for it, as well as an espresso machine however nothing was put out and when we asked the answer was just "no" with zero explanation. The elevator is a death trap. If you have to stay here- DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR. In the room the walls were scuffed and damaged, as well as a ceiling lamp barely hanging on. None of the outlets worked, and the sink was full of dirt. On the bed we had 4 pillows that appeared to be couch throw pillows given that they were 8x8 bricks from hell. No fitted sheet, just a top sheet and a thin blanket over a gross mattress. The worst however was the hotel staff member mopping the hallway at 2 am and shouting into his phone at the top of his lungs for well over an hour. Do yourself a favor, book literally anywhere else. I'd ask for a full refund but based on other reviews it wouldn't even be worth my time.

The hotel is located in an area at the limits of legality and decency (especially after sunset), in fact every evening we preferred to return to the hotel by Uber rather than by metro for our own safety.

As soon as we arrived in the room we immediately noticed the very poor level of hygiene of the structure: pillows and pillowcases with black stains, torn sheets, stained towels covered in hair. After requesting replacement, we were given other material twice in terrible condition. The toilet bowl also had strange stains and the shower cabin lacked the button to activate the shower.

On the first day, as we went out at 7.30 in the morning, we encountered a disreputable male figure in the hall accompanied by 4 "young girls"...

The second night, around 2 am, we were abruptly woken up by a female voice repeatedly and very alarmedly shouting "get out!"... It seemed like a scene from a horror film.

As if that wasn't enough, the following night around 1.10 we were woken up again by the fire alarm due to some guests intent on producing unspecified smoke inside their room. This deafening noise lasted for more than half an hour, almost until 2 in the morning, without any of the staff doing anything to make it stop.

I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy. A nightmare

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in a while. The housekeeping was nonexistent. I was told housekeeping only cleans the rooms AFTER check out. No beds were made, no trash taken out, no vacuuming while we were there. I find this to be unacceptable for any hotel that bills itself as luxury and accommodating. I was a guest yet I was not treated as one. We could hear housekeeping ramming the vacuum into the walls early in the morning in other rooms yet we could not get service while we stayed there. We asked for additional towels to be delivered but that turned out to be an unreasonable request as there was only one person on-site. We had to walk down to the lobby and retrieve them. There were stains on the wall and furniture. The handle on one of the drawers fell of when someone bumped into it. The shower knob came out of the socket, rendering it useless from switching the shower from rainfall. The hotel staff said no one was available to repair it but we could use the shower in a different room. The inconvenience was astronomical and beyond comprehension. Because the hotel was booked through Booking, the hotel staff believed they could not help with any of these complaints. According to Joey, the manager, the hotel is working with a skeleton crew. In a nutshell that means you’re on your own. The manager was not helpful and in my opinion needs to be replaced. I understand the pandemic caused financial strain in every industry but hotels should have also used that time to fix all their issues since guests weren’t in the way. This hotel was a self service hotel with a hefty price tag. Breakfast was supposed to be include me in my package, that didn’t happen. Not even a prepackaged donut was available. The shower door was off track so I told JOEY about it , he said someone would fix it which they did but the door wouldn’t completely come together. Five days of motel treatment. I would not recommend anyone spend money with this hotel, it’s not worth it at all.

We booked this hotel for two nights since we had a function to go to in the vicinity. We were told hotel was renovated and all rooms came with coffee machine, hair dryer. The lobby was a total dump with ripped couches. The room looked nice, but drawers in night table must not have been cleaned for weeks. Coffee machine was broken. There was no hair dryer. Upon request, I was told they were backordered and should arrive in the next few days. That was not exactly useful to us. The shower handle was not functioning and we were told repair could occur only in the afternoon eventhough we were going to be out the whole morning and wanted to rest prior to the function in the afternoon. Also toilet was leaking all noght and flushing improperly. The room was overlooking the above ground part of the subway so we heard trains regularly. Te light in the entrance of our room was flickering. Since we did not get a hair dryer, I had to plead and beg to get extra towel for my longue hair. Also they refused to clean the room while we were out, said they had no one available until the afternoon, so even though we were out from 9 to 2 they would have accommodated us only once we needed to rest. When we came back on the 26 from our brunch we were locked out of our room. By mistake, they had changed our card lock. They claimed we kept our cards with our phones, except, I never ever do that, always keep magnetized cards and car keys and phones separate from each other. Contrary to what they said, the hotel was far from full. While hand sanitizers were placed strategically, every single one of them was empty. People coming in and out of this place looked very shady and not sure if they were even clients. A scum place. We were there from Sunday to Tuesday July 25-27.

My wife and I spent a weekend at this hotel in September 2022. Our room reeked of stale weed and cigarettes. There were unknown stains on carpeting, furniture, and curtains and sticky, dirty laminate floors. The bathroom sink had a broken, non-functional hot water faucet. Large black garbage bags lined the hallway. The elevator was janky; the lobby smelled overpoweringly of industrial cleaning solvents (presumably to cover up more weed/cigarette odors... or worse.) I immediately requested to speak with the manager, and was told there are no managers on-site during the weekend, and that no manager could be reached by phone, which is a huge red flag for a hotel—the highest-traffic days of the week are going to be Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Seems pretty important to have a manager around! On Saturday morning at about 1am, we were returning from a late dinner and drinks with friends and found that the guest across the hall was hosting a room party in direct contradiction with the hotel's own posted policies. We know this because the guy who rode the elevator with us from the lobby told us (he wasn't staying there), only to get turned away at the door of the party. While that is objectively hilarious, this stay was anything but. The front desk attendant did eventually move us to a slightly less terrible room for Saturday night (fewer stains, didn't smell as bad, etc.) but refused to process a refund or put me in touch with the manager on Sunday. Ridiculous, disrespectful, and a huge waste of money and time. I've filed complaints with New York City's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) and the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC), and am disputing the charge through my credit card company. In the meantime, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Stay away.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Not a great neighborhood. Bears little resemblance to the website. It is NOT luxurious. The room was very large, but extremely noisy and not well kept. Family staying next door had kids running through the room, yelling, well beyond midnight. Furniture was worn and/or broken and rattled with every step from next door. Bed covers were stained. Never saw any sign of housekeeping staff. I’m guessing that it may have been nice several years ago, but whoever currently owns it has kept the previous website without maintaining the actual property. Seriously false advertising now. And ridiculously expensive as well.

It was a very bad experience. Luckly we came by my car, and after seeing our room on the first floor hidden in the corner with a small window showing a messy outside I said to my very scared grand daughter "we are not staying here".
This was below "T E R R I B L E".

I think the plugs there were three prong US but many adaptors including ours are two prong. Unless you are looking to power something stronger than a PC or phone, I would just buy a two prong adaptor -- it will work in a three prong outlet. (I'm not familiar with A and B types)

Hello! We don’t have parking at the hotel but the Mobil Gas station which is half a block from the hotel at Atlantic and Bedford has a parking lot which you can buy a spot for $20 for 24hrs.
