Despite, no evidence of live bugs there were other signs of bed bugs aside from the bites. 1. The first night that I arrived, I was greeted by a musty smell in the room. 2. After the housekeeping staff left the room, I further inspected the bed and found small blood specks alongside the edge of the bed. I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and therefore they could not put me in another room. The hotel manager informed me that if I was uncomfortable with staying, they could cancel the rest of my stay and try to find me accommodation elsewhere. While waiting for my work company to make arrangements for accommodation, I was rushed by hotel staff to make a decision of whether or not I was staying at the hotel. He explained that if I was not going to stay, they would need the room for another guest. This just proved that none of the staff members took my concerns of bed bugs being present in the room seriously. The hotel was more than ready to occupy a room with bed bugs to another guest. This is just shameful and awful because they did not even hire professionals to rectify and further investigate the issue.
Though staff members were nice and as helpful as they could be, it was very sad that they were willing to let another guest go through the same traumatizing experience as I did.
Other thoughts on hotel: the reason why this hotel was chosen was because of its location and in/out parking privileges. Although there are limited parking spots, the hotel further limits guests but not allowing any vehicles to park near the fence. Though parking was very limited, I thankfully never had any issues finding parking at the hotel. Additionally, the breakfast choices were limited compared to other hotels and there was not a fridge or microwave in the room. The room’s sheets, pillows, curtains, and shower curtains all need to be retired and replaced immediately.
WRONG!! Ended up using an ice bucket to keep them cold.
Went to complain the night before I left, and the clerks at the desk couldn't be bothered to listen. Hotel manager was never available.
Compared to other Marriott branded hotels the free breakfast was a joke especially on the weekend.
If you arrived towards the end of breakfast hours, I was lucky to find any clean silverware or a bowl for ceral much less a decent piece of fruit or bagel.
Breakfast area is in dire need of a upgrade to catch up with the rest of the Marriott chain.
Tried reaching out to the hotel manager again when I got home from my trip. Again no answer from the manager.
Elevators are so noisy that a person can't think in it!!
Room was OK at best.
Room felt like I was in a sardine can.
Bathroom was one of the few highlights of my stay except for the hot water running out Thursday and Friday mornings before 5:00AM!
Had to ask numerous times for towels towards the end of my stay.
I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this stay. My employer did.
As a Marriott Silver Rewards member, this hotel was a major FAIL!
I choose this hotel because it was a centralized location across the various places I needed to commute over a period of time, with a parking lot.
Not many New York City based hotels have a parking lot. It is small and some of the spaces are paid for and rented per existing customers outside from the hotel.
Unfortunately the parking lot is very crowded. However the hotel management makes every attempt possible to accommodate guest as best they can.
It is without waking distance of Barclay center and various other locations for individuals who have the ability to walk for commutes.
Nice hotel if you have the ability to enjoy the hotel.
Housekeeping doesn't show up ever, no laundry services, manager lied to the corporate office when asked if I had requested laundry pickup. Even Uber drivers are sketched out to pull in the parking lot. I cut my two week stay short after three nights and had to peace the eff out.
13/10 would not recommend.
Best of luck if you stay here. I recommend staying at Townplace Suites on President if you can, minimally higher rate for an exponentially better stay and experience
In the unlikely scenario that every hotel in all five boroughs but the Fairfield are sold out, I recommend instead crashing with the rats in the G train tunnels. They are certainly much happier with their accommodations than I was at the Fairfield Inn on 3rd.
Much love ✌
