The Baltic Hotel comes highly recommended for its exceptional cleanliness and the warm, inviting atmosphere that numerous travelers enjoy. Guests have consistently lauded the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, adding to the hotel's cozy charm. While some guests find the rooms to be on the smaller side, the hotel's prime location near key attractions and transport links like Atlantic Terminal is a major draw. Opinions are divided on value, with some citing reasonable prices and others questioning the cost-quality balance. Despite some finding the amenities basic, the overall comfort and cleanliness are well-regarded.

Stayed 1 night and got everything we needed. They let us check in early and we got to the clean room with no problem. It’s very tight but the room has everything you really need + cable, large 6’ mirror, and other little stuff you wouldn’t expect. Breakfast is very small and basic but a good wake-up snack like croissants, coffee, and oatmeal so can’t complain. Little pricey but like I said you get everything you really need and it’s NY… everything is pricey. Provided clean towels at 12:30am when we asked for them and digital a/c worked just fine in the room. Overall clean gem on a somewhat dirty NY block. 10-15 minute walk to the Barclays Center for a concert and plenty of restaurants around so great location. I’d definitely stay there again.

This was a great hotel for a weekend getaway in the Gowanus area. The hotel itself is very industrial and "no frills" but I don't mean that in a bad way. It was comfortable to sleep in with clean bedding, a window with a cool city view, and blackout curtains if you want to sleep in a little. The room was very clean and the staff we met were very nice (especially the front desk agent who checked is in!) If you are planning to go into Williamsburg it is a little out of the way for that but we took an Uber on Friday night to head to a concert. Otherwise, the Gowanus, Fort Green and Park Slope areas are all walking distance and fun to explore.

The hotel is bare bones. Concrete floors, no closet or drawers , only a ledge for keys and small items. Sink in bedroom, very tiny with barely space for a toothbrush. That being said, the staff was very polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable with clean, soft linens. Just 1 bath towel per guest. The room was tidied and towels replaced upon request to the reception desk. The lounge on the lower floor has coffee, tea, instant oatmeal and a few unimpressive pastries.
All in all the hotel is adequate, no frills, clean and reasonably convenient to restaurants and public transportation. In a time when hotel prices are stratospheric, the price was relatively reasonable.

Terrible room that was supposed to be an upgrade was cold and loud. I paid extra for a balcony room and was switched to what you call a suite because the flowers i ordered for my guest were delivered to this room. I did not agree to this room and couldnt even switch back to a balcony room like i originally requested because they were already taken. So we got the crap room, behind the front desk and next to a propped open exit/fire door. The AC wouldn't turn up, keeping us frozen all night and shades were falling off the walls. Random people would sit on the window sills of room and talk at night and no one around to help. Breakfast was old and stale. Coffee dispenser empty and no one around to speak to. Stay here if you dont want any help for anythjng and wish never to be disturbed by staff. One positive was that when staff was there, they were very nice and very apologetic for lacking what has seemed to be complained about already. Even something as simple as tape, you could NOT provide to temporarily fix the biggest problem: Leaving the shades torn so that people can look in your room is terrible and an invasion of privacy. There was already tape that failed stuck to the wall that was used to try to fix it previously. So don't trust to explain this away like it just happened. Be responsible and FIX THE SHADES!!

Very non accommodating Couldn’t get extra towels, toilet paper, or another shampoo for our stay. Front desk attendant advised of a $100 security deposit and instead of holding $100 they immediately held 173.50 ?? When I asked about this I never got a answer. The air conditioner never worked and when brought to their attention they said they were working on it. Tried to call them because they released the $100 but charged the $73.50 to my account and got no answer. Had to have someone take me back to the hotel to confront someone regarding this. Finally got part of the $73.50 refunded after they said they were charging an extra facility fee. Very disappointed!!

Upon arrival I was welcomed by a woman at the front desk with an attitude. Due to unseen circumstances I arrived a day later, which I had emailed about. I expected to be at the hotel at 3 p.m. but I ended up being at the hotel a little after 1 p.m. I was told the check in time was at 3 and that I needed to wait. I found this very unprofessional. After explaining that I had already paid for the night before and had reached out about arriving a day later, she gave in with some resistance but told me the room was still being cleaned. I was waiting for a while without any further communication. When I was checking in at the front desk I had to pay for my stay, which I did. After I just paid the terminal was shoved into my face again without saying a word. When asking what this payment was for, I got a simple 'deposit fees.' This could easily be said instead of not saying a word.

With that being said, the hotel itself is small just like the rooms but very clean! The room I stayed in looked very new. There is some space to store your clothes and suitcase. The neighbourhood isn't very touristic but it easy to hop onto the subway from different stations that are on walking distance. There are several (grocery) stores around the hotel just like places to eat. The room was also very clean and the beds were great! We got some soap, shampoo, etc for in the shower and different sizes towels.

I definitely do not ask for much when travel besides some customer service. I work in customer service myself and would never want my guest to feel the way I was treated. The towels are not changed just like your trashcan unless you ask. Even after asking they might not change your trashcan. It was not such a problem for me, but there was left over food in there which can start to smell if it sits out for too long. Your room won't get cleaned either, but that was not really a problem for me.

There definitely were some other front desk employees that were nice and hospitable, but the one I met upon arrival definitely was not. Most of them also don't care to say 'hello' or 'bye' after entering or leaving the building.

When I asked about the possibilities to leave my luggage at the hotel after checking out, I was told that this was certainly possible which was very great! However, they forget to mention that this costs money which I noticed after I was on my way to the airport.

The hotel also has some grab&go breakfast with tea, coffee and some pastries. I did not make use of it as it was all to sweet for me, but it was definitely nice to have the option to get something in the morning.

I definitely felt safe in this neighbourhood, even at night as a solo traveller, however I would not be interested in going again.

I used to live in the neighborhood. Now I’ve moved away, i chose to stay at the Baltic so I can be close to those I planned to visit. This hotel was a nice surprise! It is close to many public transit lines, and isn’t directly IN the middle of the shopping district so you feel some privacy. There are some amazing hidden gems within blocks away - archery range and indoor tennis just across the road, two climb gyms within 3 blocks, shuffleboard bar, my favourite ice cream shop (Ample Hill Creamery) and many, many more.

The rooms have incredibly high ceilings so it did not feel small to me. The amenities are basic but I was very comfortable. As a solo female, I felt safe the whole time. Highly recommend

My husband and I were driving up from Bucks County PA for one night to celebrate our son’s birthday in Brooklyn, NY. When I went to check in, I was told that there was no reservation for me. The woman behind the counter checked. She shrugged her shoulders and said “Sorry.” I showed her the print out and email confirmation. She called someone else from the back, they looked into the computer a bit together whispering. Now she claimed that PriceLine cancelled the reservation. The hotel was booked there is nothing I could do. I told her that was ridiculous, what am I supposed to do? She replied in a very demeaning tone that “well, you choose to book through PriceLine.” She made it seem like I’m an ass or a loser because I used PriceLine. I checked and I was billed on my credit card for the room. Why would the hotel associate with PriceLine if they feel it is a joke or they cancel the room on a whim? I am still fighting to get my money back and both my credit card and PriceLine say that the Baltic Hotel is not responding!!

This Brooklyn hotel is located in Boerum hill and not too terribly far from Park Slope and Downtown. The neighborhood doesn't have much to offer, but it is close enough to subway stations to explore elsewhere. I did enjoy walking by the many pretty brownstones in the area.

The hotel itself is very small and definitely bare bones. There wasn't any soap to wash my hands with. The view from my window was facing an abandoned building which isn't the prettiest. Again though, if you're coming to NYC the likelihood of staying in your hotel room for a view is not very probable, so that didn't matter much to me. I was able to walk from my hotel to the Brooklyn Bridge and into Manhattan which was very nice. It takes a few miles, but it's worth it. Wear comfortable sneakers to do so!

Overall the price-point is much cheaper than a few blocks up the road, especially for a solo traveler.
