Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our reservation had to be made on short notice. The online process was simple. The rates were very fair. The room was very clean and neat, and the in-room features made it very easy to keep with our normal traveling style that relies on having a small refrigerator and microwave. The breakfasts were very good, with a variety of hot and cold choices, with fresh fruit as well. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Stayed 3 nights Friday thur Sunday and 2 of the nights it was 0 degrees overnight and the the other was a 10 inch snowstorm so was in hotel room alot. Room was excellent, clean and heater worked perfect. Staff from every department was friendly. Breakfast they serve had eggs every morning and they switch off with bacon or biscuit with gravy or potatos with sausage and comes with alot more. Hotel is about 10 miles from Turning Stone Casino but is an easy ride to get there. Great job Wingate in Rome NY!

This hotel is good one night stand for several reason. Basic, but comfortable bedding, a better than average “value” breakfast, a good lobby/breakfast area and a short drive to a good pub and a local brewery taproom are available here at a fraction of the cost of the alternative. It’s across the street from a huge park with art installations and walking paths. In short, you get a bit more than you pay for. It’s not perfect. The rooms are sparsely furnished, you can’t walk to food or drink, it’s a little bit shabby in places and the fact that the pool has been “temporarily” closed for nearly four months isn’t a good sign whether you plan to use it or not. One of their two ice machines belongs in the Smithsonian and produces very little ice. The hotel faces the same post-Covid staffing challenges as everyone else; those who are here are welcoming and proficient.
Wyndham’s “midscale” hotels generally don’t match the quality of other chains’ midscales, but usually are well above Wyndham’s “value” hotels and don’t cost as much as those other midscales. We could have spent an extra $70 for a spiffier alternative a half mile away, but if we wanted to be in this location again for a night or two, we’d pocket the money and stay here.

The hotel seemed generally good at first, but little by little it became less so. First, I was disappointed that there was no hot tub in the pool area even though there was one shown on the website when I signed up before my trip. It had been filled in with cement. I mentioned it to management and that they should take it off the ads, but it's still there now 4 months later. Also, I had been bitten at least 6 times in room 206 by what had to be either bed bugs or spiders. They gave me another room in the middle of the night and ultimately didn't charge me for that night, but only after I made a fuss via email after I had left. I probably only got an hour of sleep that night. Last, maybe a minor point compared to the bites, but they had/have a policy of only spraying the waffle iron in the breakfast area once when they open in the morning and that's it. Everybody's waffles kept sticking to the iron and when I asked for the no-stick spray that's when I learned about the ridiculous "one spray a day" policy. Won't be staying there again. Rick

The manager on duty is a liar her name was Judy. Our tv was broken as soon as we got in the room we noticed we called them she waits 6 hours to come look and said we broke it and kicked us out she was very rude she lied and said we had noise complaints as well when we spent most of our time at the pool except to change and eat due to having no tv. She don't want to take blame for not doing her job so we were charged the price of the TV!!! I recommend if u do stay u make a staff go with you to check everything over in your room sad you have to do this but unless u want over $500 in charges you better be safe bc staff don't care to come check it out when asked. Waiting on a call back from the GM if not I will be contacting corporate! All they have to do is see their cameras to know She's a liar

We have stayed at this windham twice now a as a couples getaway because of their indoor pool and location near the casino.

On both stays we were helped above and beyond by the night manager Judy who, from the moment we arrived, was courteous, professional and accomodating. We are already looking forward to our next visit and that is due in large part to Judy.

The rooms are above average and excellent for the price and the pool is a great escape during Covid and winter months.

Don't expect your room cleaned every night, in fact, according to the staff, it's every 3 nights. Doesn't sound like a problem until you see the hall rugs, elevator and common areas. They would have been wise to keep staff on during covid to help keep the hotel clean. The breakfast is a lot of carbs, not much variety for fruit, no cold cereal for kids, and maybe yogurt. Kitchen staff has to be asked to refresh items on the breakfast bar.

Bring your own hair dryer, ours was broken and the front desk was too distracted to hear my complaint. The room cleanliness was not what it could have been. There was a bottle cap and crumpled paper just slightly under the bed when we got there. Family members who spent 2 nights never had a towel change. And go out for breakfast if you like good coffee. The sausage egg patties were OK but they need to improve on the muffins. And maybe get their 2nd elevator fixed! Next time I think a B & B would be better.

The guy that worked the nught shift was not friendly and wasnt at the desk when needed. The key cards had ti be recharged several times a day. Rooms were not cleaned daily, had to track down the staff to get clean towels. There was MOLD at the top of all four walls in the bathroom of my room.Breakfast was terrible, could have gotten a better one at a conveinance store.

Yes. There is a nice sized pool, and hot tub off to the side. The pool was warmer than I expected, but we did not swim, just used the hot tub briefly to warm up on a cold evening.

Answer from 515madim

No, just a refrigerator section. I had one of those re-usable ice bricks, it was half thawed but I put it in there and turned the temp up, but the next day it was cold but all thawed out.
