Upscale property in a great location. Easy walk to City Market, River Street and numerous restaurants and squares.

Our room faced the street and that brought some traffic noise, but it was tolerable. We stayed two nights and the room was not cleaned on the stay over night but the housekeeping manager responded quickly to replenish coffee and towels.

Valet parking is $37/ night but the Whitaker St garage is one block away and less than half the cost.

We stayed here two nights and had a nice 3rd floor room overlooking the Riverfront. We had heard from friends that the hotel was a bit weathered but the location was great. We found the hotel, while a bit older than some of the newer ones such as the Westin, to be in great condition, and the location couldn't have been better!

The hotel was COVID clean, staff and guests alike wore masks, and it was basically a valet your car $38, and don't pick up your car again until you checkout type of stay. Everything is literally within waking distance, and there are many tour (hop on/hop off trolleys) that will take you all over the historic district. Parking is definitely not the way to get around Savannah as it is so pedestrian friendly, and the trolleys can do the rest for you.

We had breakfast each day in the lobby restaurant, which serves until 11am. The restaurant also serves other meals as well, but we went out for our lunches and dinners, as well as the hotel lounge.

The hotel has an open air lobby, and as the hotel is on multi-levels has a couple different elevators to take you to the river or parking level where you pick up your valeted car upon departure.

Like most hotels in these COVID days, daily housekeeping is only on request, however they will gladly bring you fresh towels and deliver them to your door if you ask.

There are so many restaurants, pubs, and shops within walking distance it's too numerous to mention, but we enjoyed the Moon River Brewery across the street, and a couple of the nearby rooftop bars. They Hyatt itself does not have a rooftop bar.

The area by the hotel is very walkable and safe, and has everything from River Cruises to Historic and Ghosts tours available to choose from. We were there on a weekend in April, and the city was packed; probably people just ready to get out of the COVID pandemic now that it's easing up. You definitely want to make a reservation for dinner as the dining slots filled up quickly.

In short, I would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency for it's location, service, friendly staff and quality accommodations.

Check in was quick and easy. We were told, due to COVID concerns, housekeeping would not be available during our stay unless we made a special request. Valet parking is available at $38 per day. When I asked a question about the city, I was referred to the Concierge desk. The Concierge, Nina, was helpful and friendly, sold us tickets for the HOHO Trolley and the River Boat. She also make dinner reservations for us at Vic's. Everyone we came in contact with was masked, and safety protocols were observed. We then went up to our room and on a quick look, we were pleased. When we came back to the room that evening we started to notice a few things, bobby pins on the rug, the bathroom not quite clean, mold in the shower. The balcony we had sure could have used a cleaning, too. I always travel with lysol cleaning wipes so I gave everything a once over and carried on. I could have called downstairs, but at that point I just wanted to rest and not wait for housekeeping. I was very surprised at how the noise from other rooms carried. We were woken up on several occasions during the night. In the morning, we tried to make coffee, but the Keurig malfunctioned and only spit out less than 1/2 cup of coffee. We ended up leaving early and I was very surprised that the front desk person never asked if everything had been OK, why we were checking out a day early, nothing. The hotel is very conveniently located and the view of the river was great.

For the 3rd year in a row we spent our anniversary weekend at the Hyatt in Savannah, Georgia. We like the location and the river view rooms. I had an expectation about the cleanliness of the room because of COVID and the statement released by Hyatt Hotels talked in depth about the stepped up sanitation procedures.

The public areas of the hotel were following all precautions and very clean in addition to having hand sanitizer stations. The room we stayed in was another story. The room was extremely dusty as this it had not been stayed in for a while. The ac filter was very dirty and the vent had dirt hanging on it. Thankfully I had Clorox wipes with me and was able to wipe every surface down. In the bathroom the sink was not wiped down, there were long hairs on the counter, spatter on the floor around the toilet. The under counter shelf where the towels were was covered in dust and the back of the door looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in a while as well as the light switch.

We could have asked for another room or complained at the hotel but with COVID we chose not too and just wiped all surfaces myself and sprayed a lot of Lysol.

There’s more...when we checked out on Tuesday morning the hotel held our luggage so we could make a run down to River Street, The desk
person told us we could leave our car in the hotel garage and luggage checked until 3:00pm with no additional charge. Currently we have a $26.00 charge pending on our account for parking.

We will not be staying at the Hyatt next year.

The location was great and the lobby makes you feel like your stay will be great until you get to your room and it is clean at first glance. We struggled with simple things like trash can liners, getting our used towels taken. Housekeeping did take the trash out but did not put liners back in. They gave us new towels but didn't take the used ones which is weird. There is no complimentary anything downstairs, everything is additional: coffee and breakfast. In 2021, hotels should have something complimentary but not this place. They give the standard coffee machine in your room which we all know how that goes but downstairs, even the coffee out of their "corner market", is extra. The coffee in there was $3.75 while at their restaurant it ranged from $3.50 to $5.00 if you got something fancier. I understand charging for coffee at the restaurant but the hotel market should be complimentary.

This hotel is nestled into the bluffs overlooking the Savannah River, and offers a high level of comfort, a warm welcome, and captivating views of the area and the shipping up the river. It is located in the heart of the tourist district, but the facility and the staffing make this far more than a tourist spot. I heard multiple stories of people who were married at this location -- and loved it. I was there for a conference, and the staff were extremely easy to work with. The hotel is very well maintained, clean, and pleasant. The food served at the event was top-rate, varied, and accommodated dietary issues easily.

While this is a 4 star hotel and the lobby is absolutely gorgeous, the rooms are a complete disappointment. Our room appeared to be forgotten about for an endless period of time.

The bathroom was filled with hair and mold. The shower curtain smelled of mildew and everything was covered in dust and grime.

The black doors were showered with grimey finger prints and splattered grit.

When we called down to have them clean the bathroom at minimum... they apologized and we had to come up with a remedy. By this time it was 10pm and our 3 and 6 yr old were completely done with the entire experience, one was crying and the other was falling asleep.

We were given extra towels, breakfast and a $50 credit... the $120 left over that we spent was not worth it in the least.

I do not recommend and certainly will not be returning. The only pictures I snapped do not give justice to how much hair and mold were present.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location! It is ideally located within easy walking distance of many fabulous attractions and beautiful parks and fabulous restaurants. Despite the fact that we arrived late in the afternoon (well after 4:30) our room was not ready and we were told they were we were going to be upgraded to a "city view". Indeed, the room offered a dual aspect view showing off a wedge of the river and a view out over the main street. The room itself was very spacious but the bathroom, in stark contrast, was ridiculously small. There was barely room to get in the door and close it behind you (not kidding)!! There was also a great deal of mold growth in the shower stall which was very disconcerting and the louvered closet doors just outside the bathroom were just disgusting (literally clogged with dust and other detritus). While checking myself out in the full length mirror in the bedroom I noticed a big wad of some kind of gummy goo that had congealed on the bottom of the mirror. Clearly the cleaning staff needs to pay more attention and/or this particular room was overdue for a "deep cleaning". The bed was very comfortable however we did find it odd that the head of the bed was definitely lower than the foot of the bed which made extra pillows mandatory. We opted not to have any housekeeping during our 48-hour stay but made one simple request at the front desk for two extra hand towels. We were told they would be delivered to our room. They never came. Also during our stay, the only regular passenger elevators were out of service and guests were forced to use the service elevators. More than a little inconvenient given the number of people that were staying at the hotel and the fact that, in our opinion there were not sufficient elevators in place to begin with. There are other lovely hotels nearby and based on this experience, we won't be returning to the Savannah Hyatt when we return to Savannah next year.

Kitchen/Breakfast staff were not changing gloves between guests and after handling the register (touch screen, pens, credit cards) before touching food. This should have been a practice pre-covid! Staff not wearing masks in halls at times and not enforcing masks for guests in "sold out" hotel. Found dirty cup and cotton swab under bed when looking for a sock. Unfortunately, the glove issue was at most places I went.

I visited this hotel the end of August for a work conference. I arrived at the hotel early Monday morning as the conference started the night before and upon arriving I was told my room was not ready. I continue to check throughout the day in between work sessions to see if my room was ready and my room was not ready until after 5p.m. which was not good. I was given garden inside room with no view of the beautiful river as upon entering the room the room was dark and had a very worn look to it. I had a king bed which was comfortable and the air conditioner work very well. Also, I had no issues with the hot water which was a plus. We were given breakfast and lunch the days while at the conference and for the most part the food was good as the serving staff were amazing and did a wonderful job. There are safety covid protocols there at the hotel as they have extra masks if needed as well as hand sanitizers around the hotel which was good. The conference rooms were very nice at the hotel and some provided beautiful views of the river while there. The hotel is in an amazing location right on the Savannah River and Riverstreet which was good if you wanted to check out downtown as there are nice food options to walk too as well as a convenient CVS convenience store a few blocks down if you needed any items. I did have an issue with parking as parking at the hotel is valet only and my car was actually ding by the valet staff as well as some other people who was participating at the conference their cars as well as I am still waiting to have my vehicle repaired through there claims department. While there also, they did not provide any staff to come clean your room or provide extra towels or etc. The hotel is in a beautiful location and could be a whole lot better as the hotel needs a renovation as well as staff needs to ensure they do a better job with service of the customers that are at their hotel.

If your checked in with a room number then it works but if you have a future date stay and you would like to ship things in advance, you would have to speak to a manager. I believe it would just be the logistics of making sure they can store the item.
