Nestled near downtown attractions, the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront is commended for its prime location and river views, making it appealing to those attending nearby events. While the hotel's cleanliness generally receives high marks, there are occasional grievances concerning maintenance and housekeeping. Guests have experienced a mixed bag in terms of service, with some praising the staff's professionalism, yet others pointing out slower service. The hotel's atmosphere and amenities are appreciated, although the value is often questioned due to high costs and the dated condition of some rooms.

We chose this location due to traveling to Jacksonville Zoo & needing to be at VyStar Arena for an event inJacksonville the next morning. The check in process was quick & they were very nice. The room was as expected with a spectacular view of the St. John's River. The on site restaurants & gift shop were rather expensive but I guess that's what happens when they're serving a captive audience. $50 for 3 sandwiches, a bag of chips & some cold fries was disappointing. Their heated pool was still too cold for most adults that attenpted to get in, including myself & my husband. We were disappointed about that because we were looking forward to spending time in there with our granddaughter.
In our room, the king sized bed was not the best we've slept on compared to other hotels. It was hard & you could feel the other person's every move. Our granddaughter found a used QTip & makeup brush by the couch. I was sent a text about the cleanliness of the room after 9pm & after responding was offered a free buffet breakfast for our entire party. Thankfully that was comped because 2 adult & 1 child breakfast buffets came to $76 which is exorbitant for a few omelets, baked goods & fruit. They also added nearly $10 for a service fee that we have no idea what it was for since we were also expected to tip. Post COVID life perhaps? The line at the front desk Saturday morning was crazy. Only 2 people working the counter & a dozen customers waiting in line. It was a painfully slow experience. I wanted to speak to them after breakfast but didn't have time to stand in a longer line the second time so we left.
All in all it was a beautiful place & very convenient for where we needed to be. We might consider staying there again if the need arises & if they upgrade their beds.

My significant other & I were there for 1-night (7NOV) to start our Veteran's Day holiday weekend. We are both retired military (Navy) & happened to be attending an event at the FL Theatre (which is within walking distance from the Hyatt). I was able to use my free certificate & was pleasantly surprised when the GM responded to my e-mail before our upcoming stay & upgraded our room.

Room was clean & had updated furnishings. Shower has mounted bottles on the wall for shampoo, conditioner & body wash. I was hoping to turn the bottles around so I could read the ingredients since I have skin sensitivities but I was unable to (so I stuck with the bar soap that I brought).

We have stayed here before when we have events that we attend downtown & enjoy the location, scenery, staff, food & beverage.

Chose to stay here on the park and save deal for $250 a night ($230 hotel rate + $20 for garage parking) - $284.52 a night after taxes. It's a decent hotel, but pretty basic, so I'm not sure it's worth this price per night.
It was nice they have a parking garage right next to the hotel, but getting out of the garage was somewhat inconsistent with the parking attendants - sometimes they'd just take your ticket and see your hotel card to go and sometimes they would want your room information. It would be nice if they could tie the room card to the garage to scan to get in and out as if it's after attendant hours, you'll have to call to get let out if you've already paid for parking with your room.
You will be charged for the waters in the room unless you're a Discoverist or higher member of the Hyatt Loyalty program (got a $21 charge at the end of stay, $7 for 2 waters, and unsure of what the other $14 was for). They at least put on the waters that you'll be charged, but it's still kind of lame.
Beds and pillows were comfy. Bed can be a bit creaky. Shower was nice. Bathroom had plenty of space. No microwave in room (only public microwaves on odd numbered floors).
The thermostat didn't allow to change the temperature at all. When it was turned on, it was always a/c and kept the room around 68 degrees not matter what it was set at. We tried to set it to 78 to see if it would heat up the room at all, but the temperature never changed. Kept the fan off most of the time and warmest the room ever got was 70 with the a/c turned off.
Went to do laundry as this was in the middle of a long road trip and only one washer and dryer worked of the 5 or 6 of each. Bring your own quarters (~$2.00 per load) as their cash to coin dispenser is currently broken.
Restaurants in the hotel are fine. Got a burger and some drinks from their tavern but probably should have just gone to Burger-Fi to save some money and have a better burger. Drinks were good though.
Fitness center on the top floor was nice and spacious with plenty of options for workouts. Good view of the river and city while on the treadmills.
Elevators are a little sketchy just in the feel of how they move when you're in them. A few of them were closed throughout the weekend which led to travel congestion and waiting.
Overall, I can see this being a nice business hotel location for meetings or conventions, as many of the people who we encountered were staying here for that, but for the average traveler looking to explore Jacksonville, it doesn't feel like it's worth the cost.

The rooms have a mold smell that the hotel uses an enormous amount of air freshener to mask. If you are sensitive to air fresheners this is not the hotel for you. When you walk into the foyer on your floor level of your room you can actually see it floating in the air.

on the negative side: , poor signage in the parking garage, very confusing. Elevators from 2nd floor parking to hotel was not in order so we had to lug the heavy luggage up more than 20 steps. No sign on elevator to call for accessible service. The hotel boutique was outrageously expensive $7 for a small bottle of smart water. In the seminar area there was obvious water damage with fans going in hall and in conference room. I talked to several who are mold sensitive who had watery eyes/sniffles. Room service was inconsistent. We had to call or track someone down. When we did catch them they only did minimal, did not replenish coffee pods, or linen. One cleaning person did not seem to understand English but as I stood there looking at her she suddenly seemed to understand me and responded in English. Hot tub on roof was only luke warm and the jet sprays did not work, also lots of rust in hot tub and on steps. No accessible lounge chairs in pool area. Anyone having difficulty with low seating had to restrict to chairs around the tables
Good points Food and drink was good in restraints and during conference. I loved the soup with every meal. Guest Service desk and valets were very helpful/professional. the room had an outstanding view of the river. Conference rooms were easy to find and elevators were conveniently close by. plenty of linen in work out room and it was clean

Appreciated the K-cup coffee maker in the room, as I don’t care that much for Starbucks Coffee in the lobby coffee shop. Used coffee was replaced daily when the room was cleaned. Good job on the daily room cleaning, except that day before departure.

When we checked in at 3:30 PM we were told our room was not ready and that we would receive a text within 20-30 minutes letting us know when the room was ready. The receptionist did not offer to check our bags, she just told us to wait. At 4:30 PM we went back to the front desk and Savannah assisted us. She checked with housekeeping who said the room was ready. When we got to the room the Housekeeping team was just finishing up the room.

Our room was an Executive Suite. The room was very disappointing. All the furniture and accessories were dated. The biggest issue was the bathroom and shower. The grout in the shower was disgusting. The grout is stained with dirt, grime, and mold. It is not the fault of the cleaning team. The grout needs to be replaced. Also, the grout around the toilet was also very dirty and stained. And the drywall behind the toilet is water damaged. When we took a shower we discovered why. Water from the shower leaked onto the floor around the toilet. This is not what we expected from a Hyatt Regency and an Executive Suite. Needless to say, we were very disappointed.

We had the breakfast buffet at the main restaurant. The service was excellent. However, the food was fair and the hot items (eggs, potatoes, etc.) were not hot. Again, disappointing especially at $70.

I made a reservation under the name of Tiffany gumm. I called on the 1st to make sure that all of our linens Would be pulled including the including the mattress protector and all the towels that are left behind from previous guests so a full linen change before we arrived. On the 2nd around 10 am set our preferences to upgrade to a river view room for the extra 20 dollars. Once we got to the hotel I did my digital check in and not shortly and not shortly long after I got an email confirmation saying that our room was ready in the head to the front desk for our keys. Our room was not ready so we were downgraded back down to a standard Queen room And we were ended up in an ADA room. When we got to the room there was stuff on the floor because the floor was not vacuumed none of the linens were fully changed. The pillows were stained. Hair in the tub, Sticky stuff on the nightstand, A business card left behind on the desk, We were in room 1230 and the bed close to the door was so worn in that I sunk into it like it was a trampoline or water bed. The hair dryer had makeup on it the tissue Box had an inch of dust, half full shower bottles, an opened and used soap bar. And so much more. I do understand that there was an event going on and that's why we were there, But I work for a Holiday Inn which is nowhere near your occupancy level but never in my lifetime have we left our rooms looking the way our room was. And if we have an email confirmation showing that a digital check in was ready we already have the keys made because that room is guaranteed ready but yet we were denied our room and put into a whole different room.. I don't know if the Hyatt made the dinner that was served that was served for the submarine birthday ball but there was a there was a 1/2 dead moth in a salad plate at our table. The chicken was beyond dry and the green beans were undercooked. I left a review on Google and if I could leave a 0 star review I honestly would because The hayatt that I stayed that isn't even worth the $59 rate that you can probably get at a Motel 6 which is probably cleaner. I would greatly appreciate a refund. And hopefully the 182 authorization falls off our account because and check in we have a charge of 182 plus the 125 at checkout.

Sincerely,
One seriously disappointed guest.

I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer experience I had. The front desk was well-staffed for the conference event, and the rooms were spotless, with no unpleasant odors. During my stay, I was offered additional housekeeping services at no extra cost.

The staff was extremely helpful, clearing away dinnerware and keeping our spaces clean during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They were also very accommodating with beverage refills and special food requests.

Overall, my stay was wonderful, but the only downside was the unpleasant odor coming from the carpet as I walked down the hallway to guests' rooms on the 4th floor.

I don’t know if the City kept the floating docks close to the hotel, but I don’t think those were for overnight stays.. However, if you google COJ downtown-docks you will see many. Some are free first come first serve at metropolitan park. The map I am looking at has, has no date, but has mooring off to the side of the hotel. Sorry I can’t help much.

The restaurants in the hotel were fantastic. The breakfast bar was loaded with fresh fruits, pastries, breads, hot and cold cereals, multiple breakfast meats and vegan substitutes, and an amazing chef to prepare omelettes or other to-order breakfast favorites. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The Morton Steak House is also situated in the hotel lobby, with upscale elegant dining. Be sure to make a reservation. For casual fare, there is also a fully stocked bar, which has its own menu, but also accepts orders from the main restaurant, if you prefer the sports bar environment. Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront is close to TIAA, and you will find a broad selection of fine restaurants enroute. Whatever your tastes and/or preferred price range, you won’t need to go far. Seafood, steakhouse, traditional American, sushi, Asian Fusion, bistros, sandwich and fast foods, ice cream, chocolatiers and other candies and confections are easy to find. The traffic, at least over Christmas/New Year’s was not bad at all. Hope you enjoy your stay and your concert as much as we enjoyed our time there.
