Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We usually stay at the Loews but decided to save money since we needed 2 rooms. This place is a little older and low frills. I don't want to say it's run down but it could definitely use a little TLC. The staff was very friendly which I appreciated. One of the elevators didn’t work which made all rides uncomfortably cramped and slow. The AC in our room did not work well. It really negatively affected our experience. The bathrooms were really small. No valet. I probably will not return.

The staff was excellent. I stayed during a time when the computer systems were down. They had everything prepared so that our stay was not at all interrupted by this. I want to commend general manager Kidada and her team on excellent customer service. The hotel was also clean and well appointed. And in a GREAT location.

I stayed here about 10 years, I think I liked the hotel better back then than now. The parking situation is a pain, especially if you want to check-in first. The hotel is dated and could really use an update. The hotel lodging floors start on the 6th floor as the hotel sits on the parking garage and rooms go up to the 20th floor. There are 3 elevators, but only 2 were working, so it made for a very slow process to get to your room and crowded elevators. The breakfast was your typical HIE offering. Not sure if I would come back next time in Philly.

Nice room. Quiet surroundings. Elevtor a little slow. Personnel very attentive! Breakfast is good but you have to arrive early to have enough food. Coffee is good. A little bit noisy. Great location but a little far by foot from the historical center.

Love the rooftop pool so much more than an indoor pool and it actually goes to 9ft. Parking logistics are tough. Fridge was cold and toilets were real small squatty potty's. Elevator was real humid and stuffy with no air flow. Was dusty in room with small tv's. Air condition never got as cold as you set the temperature on.

Stayed here for a quick overnight. The room was clean and a good size. The sink is outside of the room w/ the shower and toilet. The shower/toilet room is tiny. Parking is conveniently next door but allow time to retrieve your car because it is tandem parking. Breakfast was much better than your average IHG Express.

I really wanted to give this five stars, but, I can't do it due to some issues. Let’s start with what’s good/great: Loction. This location is close to lots of restaurants, shopping, the metro, and a nice walk to lots of the attractions. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and the A/C worked great. The housekeeping staff was super nice and got us extra towels when we needed them. Free breakfast was available every day. The not so great: The front desk staff was not so hospitable. There was only two working elevators out of three, so, there was always a long wait to get where you needed to go. We were told not to use the stairs. The breakfast was nice, but, I don’t think they had enough staff because items were always out and it was a wait to get the coffee, eggs, oatmeal refilled. The slow, individual pancake maker was a nice feature but there was always a long line. On our first day we asked for almond milk and they were very generous and brought out a half gallon which was placed in the refrigerator with the yogurt for everyone to use. On day 3 it ran out and when asked if we could have another one they said they didn’t have any. Obviously a lot of people were using the almond milk since it ran out in three days - two in my party were using it for coffee only. The pool area is a nice retreat, I wish the pool had stairs to wade in instead of ladders.

the staff was super friendly and courteous. the towels were extremely soft. The pool needs steps for older people and people with sore feet from walking. Very close proximity to the major attractions.

The check in process was easy. Cynthia was clear, helpful and friendly. She answered all of my questions quickly and efficiently. We drove with our own car for this visit and finding a place for the car to park/wait during check in process was confusing. My partner drove around the block and got lost briefly since there is no where to stop or wait in front. The parking worked out, but it was “self park”, but you had to leave your keys so they could move your car. We have not encountered that before. The elevators appeared to not all be working and took awhile to arrive. We rarely went anywhere because we didn’t want to wait for an elevator to get to the 15th floor. Wifi worked well. We didn’t know where the pool or fitness rooms were and didn’t want to wait on an elevator. Breakfast was amazing. So many options and staff worked very hard to refill items/clean up during an extremely busy time.
