Detailed Reviews
This was our 2nd stay, but not our last. Jill and Eric were delightful hosts and were attentive to every detail. We stayed in the same room as our first visit (University Suite) and noticed it had been updated with a new kingsize bed. Sweet dreams! Breakfasts were taken seriously with culinary flair; very delicious and filling for a morning of sightseeing. Great location. We felt very safe that all Covid precautions were followed as there was sanitizer in many places, disinfecting wipes in the rooms and social distancing during meals. Everyone wore masks. Very clean, comfortable and easy to find.

Excellent stay. The B&B is beautiful, very well-kept, and the hosts were marvelous. Our stay was very smooth and easy, and we had a great visit to Philadelphia. The B&B is located very conveniently, we walked to dinner (an excellent dinner at a restaurant recommended by the hosts who also called and made our reservations for us). The Art Museum, our reason for visiting, was about a 5-minute drive away (if we'd been staying another night we could have walked) and Drexel University was very close. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very Covid-conscious and made us feel very comfortable and safe during our visit. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again.

This beautifully restored former mansion sits in a gorgeous neighborhood of a whole slew of Victorian houses. The Cornestone's owners, Jill and Eric, have brought the former glory of this house, with its stained glass windows and high ceilings, back to life with a myriad of colorful and tasteful details. From the tidy garden to the historical wall papers, from the polished furnishings to the glittering chandeliers, from the beautiful floor inlays to the wraparound porch: everything shows an appreciation and joy for the time when Philadelphia was at the height of its mercantile power. And yet, the welcome is so warm and the attention lavished on the guests is so lovely, we felt we were in a home, not a museum.
But beyond just offering a nice place to stay, the Cornerstone features a professional chef and the breakfast choices far surpass those of any regular powdered eggs buffet. Eric relies on local produce to create amazing feasts.
We recommend a stay at the Cornerstone to all and cannot wait to come visit again.

Jill and Eric were a pleasure to deal with and talk to. They provided us a cozy home away from home while we stayed in Philly. Our room was a quiet sanctuary away from the city, but they are located perfectly so that we were able to walk to all of the many places we wanted to visit while there. Breakfast was especially good both mornings we stayed. We will gladly stay at Cornerstone next time we're in the Philadelphia area.

My husband and I went to the Corner Stone B&B for our 35th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a private suite, the “University”. We had a very comfortable queen size bed, a desk nook, and a sitting room. The bathroom was spacious and clean. They even provided cotton waffle robes for each of us. Lots of windows brought in natural light. There was even a cozy fireplace with candles that we could burn.
There’s a pleasant, spacious wraparound porch if you wanted to sit outside and read. Many comfortable wicker chairs beckon you to sit awhile and relax...
The breakfasts were amazing! The first day we had scrambled eggs with sautéed red peppers and whipped goat cheese, along with sausage and hashbrowns. The second day was chocolate beer batter waffles with strawberry sauce. The third day was a cloud egg, a breakfast salad, and a hash brown. Besides all of this, there was fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, toast, cheese and ham slices under glass, two kinds of juices, and of course delicious coffee. As you can see, I like to eat, ha ha!
Light snacks were available all day as well. I was sorry we had to go out as much as we did, but after all, we did need to tour Philadelphia ;)
Eric and Jill were always on call if we had any needs. Altogether a lovely stay. The only negative was something they couldn’t control: once there was loud talking from the street late at night, but it didn’t last long. The B & B is located in a Victorian neighborhood. Street parking was free and we never had difficulty finding a spot near the B & B.
Thank you, Eric and Jill, for a lovely stay!

ric and Jill are absolutely amazing!! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved our stay in the Continental Suite. The room was prepared with romantic touches: chilled champagne waiting for us, delicious hand made cupcakes, as well as cute towel swans on the bed. It was our first trip to Philly and thanks to Eric and Jill's recommendations for things to do and places to eat we fell completely in love with the city. The place was so cozy and nothing beats Eric's breakfasts. We loved having breakfast out on the porch and the candle light dinner they set up for us when we ordered take out was so cute and romantic. Eric made the best cocktails too! It was the best bed and breakfast experience we could have asked for. Even in the middle of a pandemic we didn't feel like we missed out on anything during our honeymoon thanks to our stay here. We can't wait to come back again.

Honest review and honestly I am ranking four stars in hopes the breakfast is a phenomenal as the reviews say. I try to stay at bnb's when traveling to support small business owners as well as for a more unique formal experience. With that being said in comparison to the bnb's previously stayed at, it falls a little short. Very small things but small things can add up. For this private point and stated as "luxury" I would not agree. Again little things and they are outlined below for future travels to consider.
1. The check-in was very generic, usually you get a warm invite, a little background on the history of the establishment etc, didn't get that
2. Again for "price point" when the description says baked good in room and you get 2 cookies in a plastic ziplock... not a huge deal but sometimes luxury can be in the presentation
3. After winding down from the day and you're wanting to wind down and snuggle up with your loved one, if you are in their suite there will be no sighting because vthe only TV in a three room suite is in a room with two single sized chairs
4. Again, in the thought process that a little more thought goes along way, the top suite is up three staircases very narrow and windy. I was relieved to see a mini fridge at the top of the landing but when opened completely empty. *The room did have a couple of bottles of water sitting out
So again maybe not up to my expectations but hopefully the breakfast pulls thru.
Good traits:
1. Cute place, good location
2. Bed feels very plush and comfy
3. Bathtub is large
4. Room is also cozy
I feel I could have found that as well as the extra things listed above had I kept looking at another establishment. Again this was just my observation and personal thoughts. I cannot commit on the breakfast as I have not had that yet. Based on the cookies in the common area I expect breakfast to be very good.

When we arrived before check in, both inn keepers greeted us. They held onto our bags, so we could leave to meet our friend. They asked about our plans and recommended the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
When we returned, we saw the innkeepers again, they asked about our day and told us they had put our bags into our rooms. Very nice service.
The suite on the top floor was spacious and had a great bathroom. We didn't use the tub, but the shower had great water pressure, and we appreciated the separate sinks from the toilet and shower.
Both bedrooms had comfortable beds, and both of us had comfortable beds. They left water bottles and two cookies. Didn't love them, but I am sure some do.
One concern, if you have mobility issues, might be climbing the stairs to the top floor. The steps are small and twisty.
The next morning, we had a very carb centric, delicious meal: strawberry covered French toast, OJ, smoothie with whip cream, and coffee. I enjoyed it, but I probably should have asked for some simple scrambled eggs. My friend told me to not worry about the calories though. I don't recall if we were asked if we wanted an alternative from the prepared breakfast.
All in all, it was a great stay. It is a easy, but not attractive, walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art which we went to on our second day. We had dinner in midtown the first night and took a 15 dollar Lyft. We didn't drive, so can't comment on the parking.
We selected the hotel because it was on Select Registry.

This place is a true gem. Staying here is an experience, not just a place to lie your head at night. Innkeepers Jill and Eric have thought of everything and are welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. We could have talked for hours about the historic building, the neighborhood and Philadelphia sites. If you’re hesitant to book a b&b rather than a hotel, don’t be. You can come and go as you please and the breakfasts are not to be missed. On-street parking was easily found and is free (on the weekends) and safe. You can opt to park in their driveway for a small fee but you may not need to. Everything was clean and we felt safe as far as attention to Covid concerns. It’s in a superb location for Drexel and Penn parents and anyone looking to get to know Philly. The walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art is only .7 miles. Room rates are reasonable. I have no negatives to mention. Our weekend stay in our beautiful room with a very comfortable bed was excellent.

I have traveled to 27 countries and stayed in many types of accommodations, so I did a lot of research to find a unique place for my honeymoon. I stumbled across Cornerstone on a Google search and fell in love with the house and was delighted to see so many stellar reviews. Ever since the first contact with Jill, I felt like she was eager to please and I felt her enthusiasm for helping me choose a tailored package for my honeymoon. When the day came and we arrived, we were greeted by both Eric and Jill with a very enthusiastic Congratulations! What a great start and it was only the beginning. Since we were tired in the evening, they set up a candlelight dinner so we could order in and have our food in a romantic setting. In the mornings, both Jill and Eric came to deliver our breakfasts to the room with a big smile and description of the delectable breakfasts that they prepared that morning. Since we got the honeymoon package add on, we had a glass of champagne waiting for us along with beautiful pastries, balloons, and even rose petals everywhere. On our second evening, they packed us a custom picnic with charcuterie, freshly made sandwiches, and the most delicious of desserts. Eric walked the picnic to the park for us and took along a blanket, Bluetooth speaker, and took pictures so we could always have this memory. It was all of these special touches to make us feel so special. I can honestly say I’ve never had that personal attention in any other part of the world I’ve stayed at. They love what they do and I felt it. After the craziness of the pandemic, it felt so wonderful to rediscover traveling and to stay at Cornerstone for our honeymoon became a dream come true and a memory I will never forget. I will look forward to come back to celebrate future anniversaries. Thank you again Jill and Eric!

Definitely! 30th street station is close for local trains and Amtrak. We took the subway from Drexel's campus and buses were also an option. Uber was available as well.
The parking is on street. During the time we were there, we were never more than a half block away, and generally, we were just across the street. It is free.
Sorry, no photos of the bathroom. It was ensuite and fully functioning, but the sink was not within the same space as the shower and toilet. Please don't let it stop you from staying here. The room I stayed in was on the 2nd floor.
We are within walking distance to the parkway so no need to drive or take the subway. We are less than 1 mile to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for example so not far. For more information take a look at the location page on our website to get an idea of where we are in relation to the Parkway.
