At the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue, the staff's professionalism and prompt service frequently receive commendations, though some guests have experienced occasional unresponsiveness. The hotel's event spaces are celebrated for their elegance, with the added bonus of delicious food and an accommodating team, but a few visitors missed having microwaves and fridges in their rooms. While the atmosphere is generally lauded for its beauty and comfort, some décor, including coffee machines, appears dated. Its prime location on City Avenue is a highlight, offering convenience for guests attending special events. However, concerns about value are noted, as some travelers find the pricing steep relative to the amenities provided. In terms of cleanliness and room maintenance, opinions are mixed, with many guests satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, despite some reports of maintenance issues and outdated décor.

I am Hilton Diamond and a frequent business traveler. My room was clean, comfortable, and nice. My big issue was the valet. I was told to allow about 5 minutes to get my car in the morning. When I asked for my car, I was told 5-10 minutes which was fine. It literally took over a half hour to get it which made me late to a very important meeting! After 20 minutes, I asked if I could just get it myself and was told no and the valet yelled at me saying he’s just one person. Well, maybe the hotel should staff better during busy times! Also, breakfast started late.
BTW- extra charge for valet is $14 and you have to use it or go down the street to an outdoor pay lot at same cost. No mention of this rate in hotel site on Hilton app.
Hotel texted me asking me to rate them. I wrote back saying what happened but got NO response back. Seems they are poorly run and don’t care.

Stayed here while attending Bio2019 with the hotel booked by work. The rooms were large, clean and well appointed. I found the staff really welcoming and helpful but the location goes against it if you are working in central Philly.
Despite the best efforts of the Valet taxis can take an age to arrive and compared to Uber normally double the cost of a ride into the city which in the morning can be a good 25-30 minutes. For Brits travelling if you don’t have an Uber account get one!
We used the bar but not the restaurant as there were a few chain restaurants within a short walk. Breakfast was ok but not as plentiful in choice as others I have stayed. Overall staff were great, rooms good but location let’s it down for central Philly.

Such a friendly staff and great food. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was nice. We felt that the room was pretty clean, but some surfaces (desk, end tables, tv stand) needed to be cleaned better. We also were hoping to use the pool, but understand that it was closed still. Overall, an absolutely pleasant time staying!

I wish i have better things to say about our stay, but we also want to share our honest opinion. Skeleton staff, rooms were dirty, not fully stocked with shampoo / lotion / body wash. Valet personal was lazy and very lacking in attitude. Polo lounge with only 1-2 staff, they are obviously stressed and do not look happy with their job. Restaurant was dirty too. Breakfast was very expansive, a bowl of oat meal is $8, regular coffee $5. It was a huge disappointment.
Good things: front desk staffs is nice but basic expected, nothing over the top friendly.
We feel like in this post covid period, the amount of hotel cost per room plus a few more "city tax, stadium tax....etc", we are paying alot for subpar service. Have so also say though, not all Hilton are the same, most of them have good experience. Not hit one, will not return

Upon entering the security just stares at you trying to intimidate. I was with my children and did not appreciate this at all. I thought u was coming to a hotel not a prison. There were no issues at check in thank God. However once inside my room I heard people outside the door and I looked out the peek hole. And what do I see more security! They were just outside my room making me and my family feel very unwelcome. Then I decided to take my children to the pool. Every time I looked up there was more security!!! At this point i felt harassed. So I took my children back to the room and had just got in the shower when there was a knock at my door. The security was back but with the hotel manager saying I had towels at my door so I was smoking. I do not smoke at all!! I had wet towels at the front from the pool and had just requested more towels from the front desk. So because I requested more towels they automatically assumed it was too smoke or whatever. The manager entered the room and said it doesn’t smell like smoke but I had too many children. How can someone say how many children I choose to carry and raise?! Then I was asked to leave the premises at 12 o’clock at night with all my children without a refund.. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I am going to make sure their bosses hear about how they harass their guests including children ranging from the ages 10 months to 10 years old!!

When I entered my room which was an upgrade I was shocked to find there were no glasses or plastic cups for drinking or brushing your teeth. There were very few towels and the room did not even have a pad or pen for writing. I was never in a hotel which did not supply these items. I went to front desk to complain and was told Hilton no longer supples these things-you have to ask. I expect to find these simple items in the room. NOt having to ask each time I need them. Housekeeping is done every 3 days(I was there for 4) and they do not gibve you new soap when they do the room. The hotel was clean but I expected more from Hilton

I had high expectations as this was my first stay at a Hilton. It wasn't bad, just not what I expected. Honestly, I've had better stays at much cheaper hotels. It was neat and clean, but there weren't any of the amenities I had expected. No information about food available, either in the hotel or nearby. A two person room with exactly two coffee pods and only two sugar and creamer packets. The parking is ridiculous. If there isn't a spot available along the edge if the driveway, you either have to pay to park quite a distance from the front door, or pay for the valet.

Was here for a wedding in early November and all of the staff (except for the breakfast waiter) was great and very accommodating. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious. There was a bit of "wear and tear" on the minor side, but was really pleased with our stay.

Now for the breakfast.... The waiter was more than rude, and twice tried to take the plate away when my wife (and then my brother) when they had both already said that they were still eating. The prices for breakfast are high (expect to pay $30-$40 for two people), and for that the service better be excellent. I see many other recent reviews and see the same issue with this one person. Management probably needs to have a talk with him. Go to Katz Deli which is across the street. Super nice staff and at half the price.

The bar experience was excellent. Had an excellent Manhattan and the service from the bar staff was exceptional. The prices were on par with standard bar pricing ($12 per cocktail), which for the experience and service was worth it for me.

I checked in and they couldn’t find my reservation by my name, finally found it by reservation number. Told me the king bed I booked wasn’t available, even though they gave one to the man who came after me. I was in my room for 5 minutes before another couple walked in behind me who had been given the same room key. I called the front desk repeatedly to try to report it- was put on hold for 5 minutes and then hung up on. When I finally got ahold of someone, management came by my room to “inform” me that there had been an issue with the room keys (I know, I was the one that told you). My keys stopped working after a couple hours, and the room was freezing when I arrived. Overall sucked. And I never leave reviews- it just sucked that bad.

There are only 2 hotels in this entire area and both are VERY high priced. I had no other choice but to book one of these and picked the Hilton based on reviews & my HH status. Parked in the large lot down the street for $10-15, whatever it was. Room was a nice size, very modern, huge windows. WiFi worked well, nice work area, good sized TV. Bathroom was kind of odd. The shower had only half glass, so when you take your shower, water just sprays all over the floor. The shower was nice and hot and had good pressure. Bed & pillows were very nice. I did have breakfast in the AM. Its an "upscale" style menu meaning if you want something basic, you'll have to ask. My meal was about $13 w/o tip for a breakfast sandwich and juice. Service was kind of odd as there was 1 guy and almost 2 "servants" who just seemed to follow the guys orders. Kind of a strange fellow. Only 1 person at checkout which slowed things down. Again this was WAY overpriced at $300+ a night, but they have people by the neck as theres virtually no other options.
