Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for two nights while seeing Philly. It's easily walkable to all the major attractions and the place was nice and with well appointed rooms. Breakfast was a bit basic. The staff were super helpful - one (her name began with an S and she covered her hair) recommended a hair stylist for my wife on 18th street which was right on the money. The hotel is well walkable to the Avis car hire if you need a car as well.

I’ve never stayed at a place with such warm and responsive staff. The front desk team dealt with a huge influx of guests (we were there for the Taylor Swift concert) with patience and kindness. The housekeeping staff paraded out of the back room during breakfast by applauding guests each morning, which was really sweet. Well done! We’ll be back!

The location is very good. The rooms are clean and nicely quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The value is good for a center city hotel and there is plenty of nearby parking. Its only 3 blocks from the famous Reading Terminal Market.

It was an average hotel. The room was spacious. The front desk staff were very nice. The bartender did not seem friendly, but maybe that's a Philly thing. He made us uncomfortable to be at the bar. The hotel is great walking distance from attractions and tourist sight-seeing places. I booked a room with drink and snacks and I didn't get any. So they later gave me a drink from the store. The picture attached really explains this hotel stay. And I didn't get any cups, lol. You got what you need, even if it's not the best experience. Would I stay again, possibly, if everything else was booked in the area and I was using points. I didn't hate this hotel, but it was just an average hotel, not what I expected.

Frontier airlines cancelled flight to CLT from TTN and only option was to come to philly to get a flight out later the next day. They gave no other help or recommendations so I had to figure out a way to PHL and a place to stay (all at 1030 pm) needless to say I was upset. I picked this Hampton Inn based on price and the free shuttle. Well I picked the right one bc the front desk person, literally turned my frown to a full smile! She listened to my story, really listened and was empathetic, and she didn’t have to listen bc it had nothing to do with the Hampton inn and her. She was kind, personable. and it was like she knew exactly what I needed to hear so that I could smile after hours or being upset/crying. Was it the most up to date hotel, no, there were some spots in the carport that were worn but to me all of that is irrelevant when you have employees that go above and beyond. If your frontier flights from Trenton or Philly gets cancelled and you need.a hotel, I recommend coming here for a couple hours of sleep and get that headspace right, maybe even smile a couple times, which it’s definitely Worth it bc tomorrow it’s back to the non-empathetic, mean, nonhelpful Frontier employees.

This property does not stand up to the Hampton Inn brand. The room was ok, but it definitely needs to be updated. We requested housekeeping on our second day, but no one showed up. The location is also not great. It’s close to the convention center which might be an advantage for some, but based on the crime and neglect of safety in downtown Philly, it may be huge drawback for others. No way we would stay here again. The hot breakfast is nice, but only a step or 2 above the COVID-era bagel and an apple in a paper bag.

Location: Walking distance to many attractions like Reading Terminal Market, City Hall, Chinatown. I didn't opt for valet parking but used Spothero to park across from the Convention Center in a garage that seemed very secure and had a decent rate compared to the hotel parking fee. Many reviewers note the sketchiness of the area due to the many homeless people, however they seemed generally well behaved without acting aggressive or disruptive when we walked past. Check-in: Generally easy, although I booked a one king room through a 3rd party website, and was given a two queen room. I called down to reception to get reassigned and they told me they could do it, but by the time I got down to reception I was told that there were no more one king rooms left - so why didn't they tell me over the phone then? Of course I can't make too much of a big deal over this issue because I booked through a third party to get a discounted rate. Room: Bed was comfy, A/C was strong enough, and I loved the large bath product dispensers fixed to the bathroom walls, rather than the typical little travel bottles that are annoying to pour. No major problems with street noise or noisy neighbors. Room size is quite generous and felt similar to many suburban Hampton Inn locations, and not like some cramped downtown building such as in NYC. Breakfast: Surprisingly generous hours from 6a-10a even on weekends. It gets VERY crowded so seating can be a struggle. Food is really nothing special compared to many tourist-class hotels in this category - there's the typical eggs, sausage, pastries, waffle maker. One positive was an outdoor patio which provided a nice ambiance when eating breakfast, in addition to the indoor dining space. Coffee & tea available in the lobby 24/7. If the price is good, this property is a fairly solid choice for staying in Center City. I would in no situation pay a premium to stay here compared to other hotels however.

Our daughter's wedding took place at a venue close to this hotel, so we set up a room block for family and friends. It was a busy weekend there; nevertheless, we found the staff to be helpful and responsive to every question or need. Our rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good, and it's really nice that there is an outdoor eating area. We also hosted a next day wedding brunch in the hotel's Liberty Room. Hotel personnel were very helpful and responsive in planning this event. We were extremely pleased with everything - the room, food, set-up, and attention from staff!
