The Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown garners a mix of feedback, with many guests appreciating the clean rooms and the hotel's prime location close to Philadelphia's cultural hubs. The views and affordability are highlights, yet some reviewers point out dated decor and cleanliness issues.
While the amenities and diligent housekeeping earn praise, there are suggestions for improvement in room comfort and service. Overall, the atmosphere is deemed pleasant, despite occasional hiccups like unconnected TVs.

I had a wonderful stay, marked by good customer service and the allure of beautiful, clean, and new rooms. The esthetic and calming ambience further enhanced my experience. The restaurant and cocktails were delightful additions, and I particularly enjoyed the gorgeous view from my room. Would definitely stay here again!

great hotel over all. it is in the middle of center city and within walking distance of almost anything. they have valet or a parking garage that's across the street for $9 on the weekends. beautiful room and if you ask politely you can get a room on a higher floor with breath taking views. and they give out free waters at the front desk once their cafe is closed for the night. which is awesome after a long day. this was my first time in here, and i would happily come here every time I come to philly again. I personally got a better price on hotwire which I'm was very happy with.
the only reason I didnt give the hotel a perfect score was because their lobby 'restaurant' was a bit of a joke. the picture says it all.. and that was $14 buger?? it wasnt even anywhere close to an 8oz patty. it was self seating which is awkward when its packed. either you have to share a table with strangers or sit and dirty table until someone eventually comes to clean it. there was one waitress for everyone. she looked like she was trying her best but clearly overwhelmed.
if you stay at this beautiful hotel you will be very pleased.. I just recommend you save your money and eat elsewhere.

Great stay, my friend and I were grateful to choose this very nice hotel in Center Philly, the best location to walk around downtown!!! We stayed for almost a week and are satisfied with the experience. Michael at the front desk was very friendly and informative. Our room was clean and had an amazing view. Not complains. They have a cleaning commitment and hand sanitizer stations (really useful with this COVID19 condition, cause my friend was really afraid of staying out). We were so pleased, we ended up staying a little longer of planned. Also in the Local Bar, they keep up an excellent service. Highly recommended!!!

My granddaughter and her friend made reservations at the downtown Sheraton for the weekend. I was concerned about where they would park their car since I knew it would be dark when they arrived and since I worked for the company, I also know that it would be too expensive for them to park on the premises so I called the hotel to inquire about nearby parking. After letting the phone ring for literally five minutes with no answer, I called the reservation line and spoke with a nice young woman who when asked about nearby parking, assured me that parking was complimentary due to Covid19. I asked if she was certain and explained that the reservation was made through a third party and she again said it was complimentary. I found it hard to believe because I'm very familiar with downtown parking fees in hotels but it made sense because of hotel business in the pandemic. Moving forward, when my granddaughter called to inform me that she would have to pay $56 dollars, I asked to speak to the manager on duty and explained the situation, and asked if she would waive the fee just for the night as my granddaughter had driven from Hagerstown to Philadelphia and was not prepared to pay for parking since I told her it was complimentary. While Nika was very nice in explaining that the parking was a separate entity, I feel like she could have been a little more empathetic under the circumstances and adjusted the charge from their bill. I know it could be done because as mentioned, I worked for the company in a managerial position. My granddaughter later told me that the front desk agent, Taylor was not very pleasant or empathetic to the situation either and had a "oh well" attitude. I have to say that I was bothered because I expected so much better from the Sheraton. While I know it's not the Four Seasons or Ritz, it's also not Holiday Inn. Then to add on to what I consider to be petty on the manager's part, my granddaughter and her friend were sent to a room that reeked of smoke. When they were given another room, it was found not to be very clean and the duvet or comforter was dirty with what looked like blood stains.....EEWWWW !!!! One would think that this would be detected by a housekeeper or supervisor especially during the times that we are living in, Anybody heard of Covid19 ??? With the hospitality industry going through these uncertain times, and so many people out of work, I think that every possible thing within reason should be done to make people want to stay at and return to the hotel. Hospitable service as well as cleanliness is EVERYTHING.

We appreciate you taking the time to share with us your feedback. We're disappointed your time with us was anything less than perfect. We care deeply about the comfort and satisfaction of our guests so we regret that our parking amenities didn't meet your expectations. The parking at the hotel is managed by Townepark. We have worked with them now for over a year, and while at times they will relax the charge when miscommunication has occurred they haven't once discounted or waived parking since Covid -19 hit. Thank you again for sharing your concerns. We would love to speak with you further about your granddaughter's experience. Please contact us directly, or send us your phone number and email in a private message. We do hope you give us another opportunity to share a more enjoyable experience with you soon.

I have stayed in Philadelphia multiple times for every type of reason and the the 201 hotel was by far my WORST experience.
The first room given to me had a television that could not connect to any signal or internet. I had a very friendly & helpful repair person come up and attempt to help but unfortunately he could not fix it and it was suggested I would have to be moved. This became a headache because I was informed that there weren’t any other king rooms , it wasn’t until I pushed to speak to a manager did the issue become resolved and another room with a king bed “magically” opened up.
The second room had an AC that barely worked in comparison to my original room but I ended up not complaining as I did not want to be moved again.
The shower had intermittent hot water one night and almost zero the next.
Lastly, due to being at a work conference at the hotel I asked for a slightly later checkout (1 hr) and was refused being told that I needed a premium status for that. This was odd because my colleague who is not a premium member was offered late check out at the same time.
This is the first trip advisor review I have ever written as I am a very low maintenance person but the service and experience here has prompted me to write this.
I would advise going anywhere else in Philly if you can for a better experience.

The rating here must be inflated. I travel quite often and stay with Marriott each time.
To start, the check in went pretty smooth no issues. The hall smells damp which has made its way into the room. I get to my room and start my room inspection. My room appeared to be very nice looking on the surface. All of that soon went to hell. The ac unit screen is broken no big deal I can adjust. The shower has mold along the edges. I pull back the blanket and it’s a yellow stain on the sheet. I immediately called the front desk and was told they would move my room. Once at the front desk the gentleman doesn’t acknowledge what happened and says so you need to change rooms. He gets me changed and asked if I wanted a late check out.
So now I am in the new room. I started the same room inspection. Room smells better. The bathroom shower was not nice to look at. This mold and mildew around the showers has this hotel in a choke hold I see. This room had a standard tub/shower combo, where the other was a shower only. All it takes is a cleaning and recaulking with maintenance and it would be fine. I look over at the hair dryer it’s caked up with dust and more than likely old hair. In the bedroom the night stand is broken and a piece of it is laying on the floor. The water bottles are covered in dust which tells me they had been sitting there a minute. More than likely each guest had the same reaction and decided not to touch. And the icing on the cake was the nats in the room. Overall this room is much better because anything is better than a possible urine stain on the bed.
I know some things are minor but when they pile up it makes the experience worse. I was disappointed that no apology was offered but a late check out was. Why would I want to stay longer? This is in the top 3 worst Marriott experiences I have had.
I am rating this a 3 because the staff was nice and some renovations had been done. This hotel is not currently meeting the Marriott brand standard for a Sheraton to me.

The check in was fine and the room seemed clean but the night was the absolute worst night that I have ever experienced in my entire life at a hotel. We were on the 21st floor yet we could still hear the sound of the dirt bikes and ATVs all night long from the street. I’m not sure what upgrades need to be done to improve the sound proofing on the windows but this was billed as a higher class hotel and this kind of noise from the street was not what I was expecting. That was the not worst part though. The smell of marijuana permeated the room. When I called the front desk to ask if there was some other room we could move to that possibly didn’t reek of marijuana there was no answer.
I went down to the front desk where there was a crew of people who looked like they were just hanging out from off the street and a very pregnant lady with them arguing with the front desk clerk about using the bathroom. There seemed to be no security. The front desk lady told me that the marijuana smell existed throughout the entire hotel and there were no rooms that did not smell like marijuana. So I went back upstairs and attempted to go to sleep. We were in room 2127 which was right next to the elevators and a room with no number. All night long and I mean until four or 5 o’clock in the morning, the door next to us was opening and closing. The bleeping from walkie-talkies was nonstop, the elevator doors were opening and closing, and people were talking loudly outside our door. I did not get a single wink of sleep!
There was no soundproofing (inside or out), there was no security (obviously it was needed) and we were put in a horrible location that I don’t believe any guest should ever be put in. Instead of saying another night we left and went to a Hilton for our next night and slept perfectly. Please save yourself the trouble and find another hotel in a nicer area. Marriott lost my trust on this one.

I understand there are limitations and guidelines due to COVID-19 but this hotel was ill prepared and disorganized from the onset of my stay. First, front desk needs to be more communicative on what is going on in the hotel during this time. Nothing was spoken about if there was housekeeping and the green conservation service. The rooms were ok but not prepared with towels during our stay. We had to call multiple times for them. The food for breakfast was absolutely deplorable and void of any proper cooking technique. It seems that they were not properly staffed from every department for the entire duration of our July 4th weekend stay. There were several large groups of younger people throughout the hotel and outside of the premises. They were having late night parties and smoking sessions. Beyond that, no one was wearing a mask. The mask policy MUST be enforced especially in a public hotel setting. It is a mandated policy from the governor to ensure safety of guests. My friend is a Titanium Elite member and we are consistently traveling together. This was not the best representation for a Sheraton hotel. I would refrain from staying here during this time until they can properly train and adequately staff personnel.

I was in Philly with a few others to support a friend who was running the Philly marathon. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the rooms kept in great shape. They provided waters and gatorades in the lobby for everyone (even if you didnt run the marathon). The location was also perfect as it was walking distance to many restaurants, bars, breweries, etc. Parking was easy too, there is an on site garage and also a cheaper parking garage right across the street as well.

Let's start with the good. The service was very good Brandon at the front desk was very helpful and all staff were eager to make your day better. The room was also newly renovated therefore it was modern and nice. By far the best parts of this hotel was the location and the breakfast, the location was in the heart of Philadelphia and left almost everything a walkable distance away. The breakfast was by far the BEST hotel breakfest I have ever had and left nothing more to be desired.
Now the bad, this was the first time I had ever experienced parking at a hotel and not being able to get your car without getting charged every time it left the garage. But outside of that everything was wonderful.

Hi-I stayed here about a month ago. Hotel taxes will add 15.5% to the cost of the room. State of Pennsylvania will be 7% and city of Philadelphia will be 8.5%.
Hotel taxes differ in every city across the United States because each state and city sets their hotel tax rates. Hotel tax rates are generally high because it is an easy way to raise revenue without getting the locals upset. This is what makes America so much fun-LOL. You can usually google the location of your hotel and tax rate to find out the rate or you can call the hotel.
You can take a train (airport line) from the airport to Suburban station. Then, you will need to walk 5 to 7 minutes to the hotel from the station.
Area is extremely safe. Philadelphia is a large city, so location rating depends on what you want to do. You can walk to the Reading Terminal Market or Art Museum in 15 minutes. If you want to visit the historic sites (Liberty bell or Independence Hall), it will be a longer walk (maybe 25-30 minutes), or you can take the Subway (Market-Frankford line), or Uber.
Hope this helps and you have a great time
I think it’s pretty easy. Transportation is available and it’s always nice to have a walk if you don’t want to ride public transportation.
It is a garage, both above and below ground, but you’d have to call them to get the height.
No but the light rail service from the airport stops 2 blocks from the hotel. I did this both directions in November
