As we dropped the kid at school, this location seemed ideal to avoid another few hours in traffic coming home.

Lobby was terrific. Elevators were fast, but not clear about policy of numbers in cars at one time. Lobby seemed to say nothing, but upstairs said three.

It was very clean. At this time, that counts for a lot.
But, it was not the best stay. Honestly, small reasons were the key, but after hours of traffic into the city, and a painful move in, the stay needed to be better.

Coffee maker was poor, beds were a little concave in the middle, and the furnishings for a two-queen room probably should not be jammed with a stuffed easy chair and ottoman.

But that shower…ugh.
We were on the 7th floor, so we would expect some issues with pressure, and we got that. We also had a three-option shower head that simply did not make up for the light spray coming in. Biggest problem was the shower head was so low, I had to keep bending down, and I am only 5’8”.

Also, the small soap offering was probably fine for a one-night visit, but if we stayed a weekend, I could see a problem with that paltry offering.

I don’t love the parking garage, either. Very tight. Fine for city drivers used to smaller spaces, but I would imagine most staying here are not in that category.

Stayed there for nearly 2 weeks while our daughter was in the hospital. The location is great for its proximity to the hospital and close to restaurants, grocery, Starbucks and other necessities. It's a safe neighborhood for easy walks at all hours. The hotel is doing some renovations to the roof so we needed to locate to a lower floor but they were most accommodating and the lower floor was fine. The concierge lounge had an ample breakfast each morning (and a lovely manager's reception one evening) and Jackie Benjamin who staffs the lounge was beyond hospitable. She was warm, caring, hospitable and extremely professional. She was truly a bright spot for what was a trying trip for us.
The front desk staff was always polite and cheery and accommodating and always greeted us on our way in and out.

We recently had a wedding party for our daughter stay at the Sheraton Philadelphia University City. The accommodations were excellent, clean, spacious, really lovely. What set this hotel apart however was the staff. From checking in to the housekeeping staff, everyone was so helpful and really made our stay a pleasure. Special praise to Dennis, the Event Services Manager, who answered every question and made suggestions that made our stay better. We had a breakfast catered to our room and Ricky and Teresa set up the whole beautiful spread in almost total silence because one member of our party was sleeping. Ricky and Teresa couldn't have been sweeter. Every member of our party was impressed with the accommodations. We were well pleased with our stay.

I can't say enough good things about our stay. We were in Philly for a week because our son was in the hospital. The Sheraton offers special room and parking rates for those staying because loved ones are in the hospital. At check-in, Aleasha was very kind and compassionate. I was stressed about my son's upcoming surgery and she was very friendly. She allowed us to check in early and was extremely accommodating. The room was always clean and fresh when we returned each evening. Samary even left a note of support for us. Her kind words and the attention she gave to cleaning our room made a difficult situation much more pleasant. The location was ideal as we walked to the hospital each day. There is a Giant grocery store on the corner, a Wawa across the street, and several coffee shops on the walk to the hospital. The room had a beautiful view of the city. The beds were a little on the soft side, but very comfortable. The toiletries provided smelled great and were much appreciated, as was the in-room coffee maker. Bottled water was provided each day. There was also a mini fridge in the room. Down the hall was an ice machine, soda vending machine and microwave. We also really appreciated all of the charging stations in the room to keep our devices fully charged. Overall, our stay was outstanding. It was so nice to have a comfortable room to return to each evening to rest and recharge from the stress of the day. We will definitely be returning every time our son needs to stay in the hospital.

During the covid-19 pandemic my company was nice enough to provide a safe place for their employees to stay and prevent the spread of the virus. Here at the Sheraton I have come in contact with some of the nicest, most caring individuals. Always there to help and assist when needed, always displays great customer service, and always going the extra mile to make sure I had a comfortable stay. I would like to personally thank Ron, Laquon, Corey, Colin, Luke, as well as a host of front desk personnel, and housekeeping for serving and hosting both me and the rest of my employees during a difficult time. Your work has not and does not go unnoticed!!

This Sheraton is conveniently located and utterly forgettable.

What is unforgettable is the warmth, humor and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Colin and Ron were amazing. As I checked in, I watched with delight as two grateful, new arrivals received enthusiastic guidance on what to see and do in Philadelphia. Later, I needed help with some unexpected printing and duplicating for a client meeting the next morning and Colin jumped in and handled it all. No worries. Good humor, despite the hour. Extremely kind.

I see from the other reviews that the staff is the sole thing that distinguishes this hotel. Whatever management is paying them, they should pay more.

Meanwhile the hotel itself was okay for a couple of nights. They allow pets, which is nice. But they should segregate them by floor. When I arrived, my neighbor across the hall had a small dog that barked continuously for two hours until I called to complain, and others did the same. There were kids in the hallways making noise.
It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't quiet, either. The bath products,...meh. No shower cap. They definitely could use better lighting in the bathroom and, perhaps, even a magnifying mirror as many other hotels now do. It's simply impossible for a woman to use the bathroom mirror for putting on makeup, with a distant single light coming from overhead and slightly behind where you're standing and no other mirror in the room useful either. Still, because of Colin and Ron, I might stay there again.

We arrived late in the night to this hotel,
RON WADE at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful that I was so overwhelmed by the service.
As I was struggling to ascertain if off street parking is permissible and safe, he walked out of his post at the front desk to where my car was parked to ensure that it was legally parked , all this with such a pleasant demeanor. In all my years of travel I have never had such a demonstration of exceptional care and concern for the guest. This man deserves a promotion and the organization which fosters such service ample praise.

"Ty", at the front desk, was fantastic, deserves 10 stars, a promotion and a pay raise. Unfortunately, the rest of the facility was not on par with his excellence. The 2oth floor breakfast and the woman assigned to it was great. Aside from Ty and the breakfast, the rest of the stay was extremely disappointing. The soap in the shower was empty on our arrival and housekeeping never refilled it despite our placing the hand soap from the sink on top of the shower soap dispenser. Whoever cleaned our room unplugged my CPAP device on 2 of the 5 nights I stayed so I had to get out of bed in the dark (my roommate was already asleep) and attempt to reconnect it. The AC fan was so loud it noticeably exacerbated my tinnitus and from which I’m still suffering and could not be turned off. The AC in the common areas was not working or had not been activated in the heat which was near 100 degrees Fahrenheit. On the final night of our stay, we and another guest who had just arrived, were compelled to use the intercom buzzer to enter. We buzzed for some time to no avail as no one manned the desk. After some time, some other guests seated in the lobby apparently tired of hearing our attempts to enter and let us in. All of that notwithstanding, it was nowhere near as horrible as the food served in the Chinee? restaurant adjacent to the lobby. I ordered braised beef brisket. It was certainly not any beef with which I am familiar and was inedible. I pushed it aside after tasting whatever the meat was, the malodorous rice and the odd-tasting green vegetable that accompanied it. I can eat just about any food but not whatever it was that they served me, even then after a long wait for it and their unveiled disdain and contempt when they saw that I refused to eat it.

I will forever be grateful for the staff at this facility. They made me feel so comfortable during my stay. Working in healthcare during this covid pandemic can be very stressful. I want to thank Kathryn Wilson for always making sure my room was clean and always being so kind to me and checking to make sure I was ok. I also want to thank Tammy Rose, Ron Ware, and Alieshia for always greeting me with kindness and making me feel comfortable before and after a long shift. It really makes a difference when you feel like you have a home away from home. Lastly Anthony Brandon for always looking out for me checking to see if I needed anything. Giving me words of encouragement to get through the day and always reminding how proud people are of healthcare workers. The staff at the Sheraton Hotel in University City are professional with grade A customer service. The Sheraton should be so proud to have hired such pristine group of people.
