The Historic Hotel Bethlehem receives high marks for its comfortable, elegant rooms and the overall cleanliness that guests find impeccable. Nestled in an ideal location, the hotel's historical charm and easy access to local attractions are popular among visitors. The atmosphere is frequently described as warm and inviting, with a staff known for their attentiveness and professionalism. However, some guests feel the value could be improved, pointing to overpriced items and unexpected charges. Despite isolated service hiccups, the hotel's prime location near Le High University remains a highlight.

My husband and I saw a movie about Hotel Bethlehem on the Hallmark Channel, so we decided to spend a few days there at Christmas. This was our first time at the hotel. As we entered the parking lot we were first greeted by a friendly bellman named Travis who provided outstanding curbside service. We were so appreciative of his assistance with our luggage, especially since we are in our senior years.

The holiday decorations that were throughout the whole hotel were so beautiful. We found the food at both restaurants in the hotel to be quite delicious. Yummy cinnamon buns at their Hotel B Ice Cream Parlor.

All the hotel staff provided courteous, prompt, friendly, and professional service. What a pleasant surprise to meet the hotel’s owner, Bruce Haines who chatted with us for awhile and graciously agreed to join us in a brief video!

Hotel Bethlehem is a real champion of historic hotels and has been voted America’s Number One Best Historic Hotel for three years in a row. What a delightful and elegant place to stay! We plan to return.

Juanita - thank you so very much for your very kind review! We are thrilled that you saw us on Hallmark and chose to visit our hotel and our official Hallmark Christmas City. It certainly is special year round...and really twinkles during Christmas. I will certainly let Travis know how you felt about his service and am glad that you met Bruce. Bruce and his partners care very much about this Grand Dame and Bruce loves to personally meet and engage with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back warmly!

Faded elegance in a charming city. Traveling during Covid-19 has truly been a challenge so we were happy to arrive at a place that seemed to be doing well and following all the rules. Our room was fine (not sure the top level was worth the extra money), bed very comfortable. We ordered room service dinner to keep away from others but we were happily surprised to learn at breakfast that they had installed state of the art air handling equipment in their dining area.

My favorite PA hotel and a frequent go to as it is close enough to where we live in NJ and is a pleasant reprieve from everyday boredom. It's historic, it's classy and it's convenient to everything in Bethlehem. Situated so that the property to the rear of their building is the site of several historical buildings along a meandering creek, it is close to many interesting and historic sites. Being right in town there are a number of great bars and restaurants within short walks of the hotel including The Flying Egg (next door), the Crepe place Cachette (across Main St) and the Corked Wine Bar (approx. 100ft down). The rooms and nicely decorated and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. They have added a new ventilation system in view of the Covid pandemic and the common areas feel nice and fresh as a result. All staff wear masks and seem to be especially happy to greet you when you get in. Almost everyone I interacted with on this recent stay knew my first name and greeted us with genuine interest and attention. The 1741 pn the Terrace room with Moravian tiled floor and panoramic windows still remains singularly impressive. Our dinner was not as good as it was a couple of years ago but the experience was outstanding. Additionally, their lobby dining area for breakfasts especially was relatively quiet and pleasant. Our thanks to Colleen V (Ops Mgr.), Caroline, Minaya, Katherine, and Kathy for making this trip "outstanding"

We loved the Historic Hotel Bethlehem! The room was very comfortable, the bed was great, the water was hot and the shower had great water pressure! The bathroom was small but it was adequate and for a historic hotel it is expected. We had the bed and breakfast package and that was great! It included a $16 voucher for each of us for breakfast each morning and included gratuity and tax. The drink voucher included up to a $10 drink for each of us. I throughly enjoyed sitting in the lobby, reading a book while the snow was falling outside. Very relaxing hotel and we will be sure to stay here next time we are in the area!

I stayed here this past Sunday night with my husband. It was our first trip to Bethlehem, and despite all the virus craziness, we had a wonderful time. The hotel is just beautiful. The staff were extremely careful about all the health precautions, and we didn't see anyone unmasked while inside. They have hand sanitizers at the elevator doors so the buttons don't get contaminated. Loved that. We were on the 9th floor, and the view was so lovely I could have just stood there all day and enjoyed it. The room, although on the small side, was spotless, as was the bathroom. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, but the pillows are the reason I knocked off one star. They went as flat as pancakes the moment you lie on them, and provided zero support. My husband had a very sore neck in the morning. Next time, and there definitely will be a next time, we'll just bring our own pillows from home.

Highly recommend.

We recently stayed at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem while visiting family in Bethlehem.

It was our first time staying in a hotel since COVID restrictions were in effect. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a suite, which included a king sized bed, a sofa and a sitting area.

Although we realized we were in a traditional, historic spot, we still expected things such as easy access to wi-fi. We did not receive any instructions at check-in about this. After several calls went unanswered, I went to the lobby and got instructions for logging on.

It would have been nice to have a small gym, with at least a stationary bike to ride, but we decided to just go with the flow and enjoy our time exploring the area and spending time with family.

Things were a bit different than before. For instance, my wife was looking for a written book or guide, which usually lists things about the hotel and information about things to do in the area. We did not find a guide and after awhile, realized that because of the pandemic, that one was not available.

The room and the bed were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
The location on Main Street was close to plenty of dining options and shops.

The lobby of the hotel was elegant. It included an expensive gift shop and a bar, the “Tap Room.” We would have loved to sit at the bar, but because of restrictive seating, the existing bar stools were occupied, so we had a drink and a dessert.

We recommend staying at the Hotel Bethlehem for a restful stay at a place with a great location. It is not a place to go if you expect the same things that you get at a typical chain hotel.

Everything and everyone was so amazing! The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we had, what felt was, the place to ourselves. We felt safe throughout the hotel and while shopping downtown, which is amazing and filled with great small shops! We wanted to mention in particular, DANA DEVITO, who works in the Hotel Bethlehem Shoppes. She made such a wonderful experience that we came back for more shopping and to express our gratitude!!
We booked the Christmas in Bethlehem package and got the historical walking tour and breakfast. The hotel has gone to great lengths to try and give a “normal” stay experience, and we felt their appreciation for visiting all of them!
We’re already talking about our next visit.

Outstanding Historic Hotel in the Beautiful Historic City of Bethlehem.
Its like stepping back in time , the hotel is beautifully furnished and staged , all the staff are very attentive and so helpful and friendly. Plenty of underground parking at the rear of the hotel.
We had a beautiful room overlooking " the Star of Bethlehem " which is a beautiful sight. The bed was very comfy , shower room was beautifully finished in marble with a great shower and lots of hot water.
We had Dinner with friends in the Dining Room , the food was delicious , however the wine is ridiculously overpriced ,I appreciate you are in beautiful surroundings with a unique view but still overpriced , the waiter was the only rude member of staff we dealt with, we were actually asked to leave as he wanted to go home , very disappointing after spending many hundreds of dollars.
The Hotel is centrally paced in Historic Bethlehem with many restaurants , boutique shops - ( hotel shop is amazing ) - restaurants etc all within easy walking distance.
We will definitely be staying here again when we come back in March, despite the unpleasant Dining experience.

My mother and I spent 4 nights at the Hotel Bethlehem while attending the Moravian Music Festival in July 2022, and I truly hope that we have the opportunity to stay there again someday! Our room was beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable, and impeccably clean. All public spaces were pleasant and well cared for, and the restaurant off the lobby was a great option for quick breakfasts and light bites/libations in the evenings.

Most of all, I wish to thank all of the delightful staff that made our stay so memorable. Tom, the bellman, gave us a great first impression of the hotel. He greeted us warmly and took care of unloading all of our baggage and settling us into our room. Tasso at the front desk was very professional and hospitable, and we appreciate that he followed up on our request for early housekeeping. Bonnie and Nina at the Taproom (and another server whose name I can't recall) made our breakfasts enjoyable, and Mr. Sweeney who was our server in the evenings provided exceptional service with his natural capacity for hospitality. All of the housekeeping staff we encountered were very friendly, and we never had to wait for our room to be cleaned in the mornings which we truly appreciated.

Their exceptional level of service will be remembered any time we have the occasion to be in Bethlehem. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling here!

This is a beautiful hotel nicely restored and the staff was very friendly. That said it is pricey and a lot of the things they pulled due to the pandemic should be restocked. The room was missing lotion, paper and pen ( yes we did need it), shower cap, nail file, real glasses(not plastic), wine glasses( always a nice touch), real coffee mugs. Things you would expect in a high end property. I hope the management starts paying attention to the little things that make a stay more pleasant.
