I stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wynham New York City Park back in January 20th and the stay was a very good stay. I was greeted with courtesy and respect by the staff, at the end of the check-in process I was given 2 bottles of water (complimentary). I thought that was a nice touch and a good start to my stay! I was also informed by the staff that breakfast was served the next morning (they gave me the hours). When I booked the hotel I booked it because of the location followed by the price, but I didn't know that they served breakfast so it was nice. I went up to my room and called the front desk to see if the free breakfast was worth waking up earlier, because if it was a continental breakfast it wouldn't have been worth waking up early for. I was told that the free breakfast was actually hot breakfast, so it was worth waking up early for. I would recommend anyone to stay there and experience the stay for themselves. IF you have any issues, call the staff which will be standing-by to help with whatever it is you need.

This La Quinta Inn property is great for its proximity to the American Museum of Natural History, Lincoln Center and other sites. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. In these COVID-19 times the included breakfast is very limited: cold cereal, instant oatmeal cooked in a microwave, toast. The location feels like a residential neighborhood. The hotel itself and the street its on are quiet. The room I stayed in is very small; it had a queen sized bed with barely enough room to walk around it. When I wanted to lounge in my room I had to sit on the bed. There was not room for chairs in the room. The water got hot quickly and retained its temperature. The shower maintained excellent water pressure. The air conditioner was noisy. My room had a view of a "courtyard' which wasn't much to look at. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from within short walking distance of the hotel. Overall this is a terrific hotel if you're mainly looking for a comfortable room to sleep in when not out playing tourist for most of the day.

When we checked in the very small lobby was overrun. There were suitcases stored against the wall, people sprawled across the love seats, and ok but not great mask compliance. Staff were wearing masks and guests mostly were although some were beneath their noses.

The first room we were sent to was locked from the inside so it appeared it was occupied. We ended up moved to a room on another floor which was a corner room so it seemed to have more space than others have commented about.

The bed was comfortable and firm.

The elevator is teeny tiny and not too reliable in terms of when it will show up. We have walked up and down many flights during our multi day stay here.

For some reason mask wearing became less common as we reached early work week. Sure we are vaccinated but we still don’t want to run into an exposed person or a few. Museums felt much safer in that regard vs hotel.

Parking is free on the street IF (big if) you are lucky enough to nab a spot. We were for a couple of days (yea!) but paid over $60 for 3rd day of parking. It evened out for us but if we had to pay $150 plus for 3 days of parking it would not have been worth it.

Overall a very mixed bag.

Just think of this hotel as your cruise cabin. Very small, tiny in fact. But at its doorstep is every thing you could want in terms of restaurants coffee museums and of course Central Park. Great location very very quiet room which I was surprised at. A great budget location with easy access to the subways and walking distance all sites within walking distance. Remember tiny. Teeny tiny interior cruise cabin. Hot water. Comfortable bed. Very quiet. Fabulous location.

I stayed at LaQuinta Inn Central Park West for a week while my apartment bathroom was being remodeled. The room was clean. I had trouble connecting my work laptop (due to a security setting on my laptop) to the hotel WiFi and the girl at the front desk helped me figure it out. Steve, the manager, was also flexible with price matching Expedia prices when I had to extend the reservation by a few days.

Stayed there 6/1/22.

It is beyond me that Wyndham would allow this tenement to operate under its name. For the remainder of my life I will never stay at another Wyndham property, regardless of location or property type. Further, I am removing Wyndham properties from the list of approved hotels that our employees may use for business travel.

This property was clearly a tenement building and public housing project turned into what is supposed to pass as a hotel. The one tiny elevator it has services all 14 floors of this hotel and 100% of the six times I needed to get to and from my floor, it was fully occupied by housecleaning staff with two cleaning carts and no room for others in the elevator. The housekeeping staff (who all look like LaQuinta/Wyndham long ago destroyed their souls) don’t even look at you when the elevator door opens; they just say No room! and carry on to the next floors while you wait for that one dingy elevator to return. Getting to the 4th floor or lobby took anywhere from 14 to 20 minutes. Needless to say, the cleaning staff did not exit the elevator to make room for the guests.

Room 407 is their “Executive Room, King Bed, Corner” and is the best room that this property has to offer at any time. This shambles of a shoe box-sized room cost $327.57 for the night. The hallways were strewn with empty coffee cups and assorted debris. The carpets which appear not to have been changed in my lifetime were filthy, worn, and had bleach stains and other stains of unknown origin. The ottoman has a large round stain on it that looked like poop or blood. The air conditioner was a small house air conditioner was damaged and filthy and the air coming out of it smelled like urine. The lampshade was broken and cracked. The bathroom had rust and the wrong size tank cover. The doors and walls were filthy.

There are only 7 rooms per floor at this hotel because that is what New York City Project Housing provides. The entire size of my room would fit inside a 1-car garage.

This property is located on the upper west side of New York City; one of the most affluent areas in the entire United States. Mind boggling.

I booked a room for 3 people on the morning of 10/2/2020. That night I wanted to check my reservation, never got an email and my credit card was never charged. So I booked it again and the same thing happened. I tried calling the hotel, no one ever picks up the phone. So I called Winyham customer service. They said they had both my reservations and to cancel one I would be charged $200.00. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected. When I got to the hotel I told them what happened and they canceled one of the reservations. I ask how come no one answers the phone. They said it doesn’t work. The hotel smelled like weed and air freshener. Got to our room, there where no towels. Called the front desk they said they would send some up. Two hours later we got 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels for three people. One of the shades on the window was broken and would not close. We had trouble sleeping because the smell of weed was so strong, I was feeling sick to my stomach. In the stairway between the 3rd and 4th floor there was a half of a smoked joint on the stairs. It says on the website free breakfast. It was stale croissants, stale donuts, and moldy apples. Upon leaving we noticed the smoke detector in our room was covered in tinfoil. When I check out I tried to tell the front desk what happened and there was a seedy guy standing there chiming in on the conversation. He was making me very nervous, I had to just leave.
I tried calling Wyndham customer care. I told them what happened, then I was disconnected. They called me back and I was disconnected again. I called back twice and was disconnected.
All the Wyndham Hotels we ever stayed at, we never had anything happen like this. We felt like we were staying in a drug den.
Don’t ever stay in this hotel. You will regret it.

1)Noisy air conditioning unit, hard to sleep with that level of discomfort 2) 2 out of 3 nights , no towels available after making room . Front desk person always with a excuse on doing laundry for 25 more minutes but never provided. 3)Rug on room and common areas very old and very dirty. As well a very messy elevator 4) No hotel Manager on Duty for the weekend so no person at the hotel to take complaints 5) After all the above, I feel like overpaid for a $250 a night room . Should received my money back. 6) Pictures on Hotel Web Site, very far away from reality. 7) Smells pretty bad all over the facility,

If you are comparing prices, be aware that this hotel charges an additional “facility use” fee on top of the room charge that you pay online. The front desk explained that it was to cover Wifi, breakfast, etc, but of course there’s no option to stay in the room without the building it’s part of, so, it’s just a way of misleading people. I suggest calling ahead before booking to find out what it will be. The rooms are tiny, the Wifi is not strong enough to stream movies (had to use my iPhone to create a hotspot), and there is often a wait for the elevator. The location is great, it’s clean and the staff are friendly. Still I wouldn’t stay again because of the misleading pricing.

The worst experience ever, I reserved a room for a family of 6 and the confirmation explained it was to rooms separated by a door and non smoking rooms.
At the arriving time we got to small rooms , not as the ones on the pictures they showed and one smelled really bad to cigarettes/ skunk smell as well Not appropriate for families or kids.
We had no option at the last minute so we had no where el to stay.
Administration should work on this issues.

Debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo are usually treated as a credit card at most places. The hotel will take cash and any cards used for booking or for "incidentals" are never billed unless you trash the room. But a quick call would be the safe way to go.
