We stayed at the Bentley because our father had surgery at weill cornell ten minutes from the hotel. We had an upgrade to a water view room, which made the biggest difference in our stay after each long day. The amenities are great, all the basics you need, along with the most comfortable bed ever. The hotel staff...where do I begin. Everyone was so kind. The housekeeper always greets you with a smile, the front desk is very professional, kind, and knowledgeable. This is definitely a place i'd recommend to stay at. The price of our stay was very reasonable (we booked it through the bentley hotel website). We were also able to store our luggage after checkout, which was very helpful as well. I cannot stress enough the kindness of the staff. It really made all the difference to our stay. I highly recommend the Bentley if you need to stay in the upper east.

We arrived for New Year’s Eve and although hotel was fully booked it quiet which was lovely. Great location, still a good walk or taxi away from everything but doable. We were up on the 18th floor, fantastic view of the city. One queen bed very comfy in one room and sofa bed ( with no sheets or pillows but available on request) quite uncomfortable but after a days walking around I was out like a light. I am usually a very light sleeper that’s why I look at reviews as noise keeps me awake. The sirens and honking horns could still be heard but I did sleep. The first night the toilet broke and wouldn’t flush but after fiddling with the cistern got it working. One of the towels had a massive hole in it and the plug on the hairdryer, aswell as the bath plug so had to shower, but reported them and the lovely staff sorted it out straight away. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they didn’t hang around for a tip like a lot do. The tv came on two days in a row blaring at 6am frightening the life out of me as it was set on an alarm that I could unset. Air con machines come on randomly and are quite loud and on the second night the room next door was very noisy as they were drunk. Staff are brilliant, very helpful, problems sorted straight away. Linen was clean, little extras in the bathroom were handy. Room was very clean
There is no breakfast at this location, no kettle but a coffee machine with weak coffee pods. You can order breakfast deliveries or coffee via a deliveroo style courier.
There is a fantastic bagel shop a 2 min walk away and brilliant diner called the Ritz. Be aware that the local shops for drinks and cigarettes if you need them are very expensive but the further you go into town the more expensive they get.
We pre ordered a cab back to the airport for a good rate and checked out early and they looked after our bags in a locked room, being given a ticket number for our bags so it felt safe. Overall I would stay here again as it was a good stay. Look out for Adrian and Brandon- delightful young lads on reception, very helpful and informative. Makes all the difference when staff are so pleasant

We have family in NYC and try to visit every few months . We always stay at the Bentley and the front desk have become our "friends". They are always asking to seeing photos of our granddaughter as we stayed at the Bentley for 6 days when she was born. Whatever you need, the Bentley is there to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We always do a late check in and early check out but during the 12 hours we are in the room it is very clean and comfortable. There is no ice machine on the floor but a bucket of ice was delivered to our room immediately upon our request. The Bentley is a great boutique hotel with a highly qualified staff.

Misleading descriptions abound here: 1. Parking: Hotel has no parking. New York City has many private parking garages. You must use a private parking garage for your vehicle when staying at this hotel. 2. Free Internet, actually NOT free: You will be charged $19.95 "Residence Fee" plus tax for this and other included amenities, such as your access to fitness center, in-room coffee, etc.

Our check-in experience was courteous but disappointing. We had a queen size bed reserved but were involuntarily "upgraded" to a room with two full size beds. A full size bed is too short for me, which is why I reserved a queen bed. The staff was pleasant while informing us that there were no queen or king bed rooms available.

Most of the hotel elevators were not working. The bathroom light switch in our closet sized bathroom worked only half the time. There was only one face towel in the bathroom. There was no in-room coffee or tea equipment or supplies.

I thought perhaps a nice double shot of bourbon might help my feet not notice they were hanging over the end of the bed, and assuage the other disappointments, but alas... The very small, lobby level bar stocks no good bourbon.

Front desk staff was pleasant and courteous, the hotel location is good for Upper East Side business and appointments. Just beware that the advertising is misleading, promised services are not available nor are they free. Fees added for a one night stay, parking plus hotels "residency fee" totaled $52.48 altogether. Consider these added costs when comparing prices, the price displayed on the booking site for our reservation was $119.85, while the actual total became $172.33 for the night.

Requested early check, was told maybe possible, did not happened. Instead returned back at 3pm standard check in and was told reserved room was still not available. Shortly after another 15min room became available. Sadly the room was missing a few amenities that sealed the deal to request a refund and cancel reservation and checked into another hotel with excellent amenity services.

Future travelers - Please do not consider this location because if you do - you will feel bent out of shape and very disappointed.

Note to property managers of Bentley Hotel - please consider taking better care of property and update front lobby, lobby bathrooms, front desk, most importantly pictures do not reflect true property guest rooms.

Respectfully,
Disappointed traveler

This hotel has its pros and cons.

The pros: The rooms are large for New York, impeccably clean, and well furnished in a cool Modernist style that fits the building. They are priced competitively. Windows comprise one wall, and there is a view of the Queensboro Bridge and the East River, not one of the gloomy canyons of Manhattan as with so many other hotels. This, however, leads to the cons.

Cons: Even though the glass is thick, there is the constant sound of traffic. I could also hear plumbing noises from other bathrooms in the building. Sensitive people should bring ear plugs. Although it is across York Avenue from Sloan Kettering Hospital and six blocks from the Columbia Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital, it is not near public transport, except for a bus that runs along York. As you would expect from an economical hotel, service, apart from check-in, cleaning, and a doorman, is minimal. There is no restaurant on the premises. It is possible to have food delivered from a nearby hotel, but my chicken tenders were almost inedible and my Greek salad was so-so. Best options are outside the hotel, on First Avenue, a short walk uphill. There is a bar, just a corner of the lobby, that opens in the evenings. Don’t expect bar snacks after 6:00 P.M. or before 4:00.

Although I emphasized the need for early check-in and was told I could have it, the front desk was unaware of this request. They did let me have a room at 1:15, however, but it was not the one I had booked. I was staying alone, so that was ok.

I recommend the Bentley, but plan your food options carefully.

Was in the city to visit a relative at nearby Sloan Kettering. This hotel is very convenient to “Hospital Row”, if that is the reason you are there. For the price, it was a very good value since booking on the website offered a 40% off discount. The website was less than any of the booking sites. There were a few minor suggestions, one of which is explaining the heat control in the rooms since our first night was way too warm. There is reasonably priced (for NYC) parking at the hotel for guests, but we weren’t informed of that until checkout, so reserve that in advance if needed. Otherwise, you can find discounted parking nearby with Spot Hero app. Overall it was a great value for this area of the city.

My wife was having surgery at Josie Robertson, so we booked 3 nights at the Bentley, which is right across the street. (The MSK discount rate wasn't available, but we did get a promotional reduced rate.) There's also garage affiliated with the hotel around the corner. On arrival, we were upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and comfortable. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but it does have room service (which we didn't use) and there are restaurants a block away on First Ave., some of which deliver to the hotel. On checkout, we got a discount on parking.

The neighborhood is kind of noisy, with bridge and FDR Drive traffic and numerous emergency vehicles. But the views of the river are great.

This boutique hotel is located close to MSKCC It has great views of the East river if you stay in the upper floors. The staff is friendly, the beds are comfortable and parking is inexpensive. We stay here whenever we have medical appointments easy to get to by car. It’s right off FDR.

The hotel is affiliated with a parking garage behind it, however, it is VERY expensive. The hotel initially told me that they do not give discounts for the parking, and upon check out a week later, someone told me they did. The parking attendants in the garage are rude and seem very shady. There is an app that you can use to get discounts, and the parking attendants don't like it. They try to get as much money from you as possible. I would recommend finding another hotel.
