This is a fantastic hotel in a great location. Every front desk staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The lobby and rooms are stylishly decorated and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and bed and bath linens are quality. The rooms are small, but nobody should be complaining about it. This is typical for Manhattan hotels unless you are paying upwards of $600/night. I would definitely stay here again.

This newly renovated boutique hotel on the upper east side was sparkling clean, stylish, and felt very safe during the COVID era. Even our bathroom was impressive, both from a design perspective and cleanliness. The location could not be more perfect, as we did not even need to leave the immediate neighborhood to enjoy some of the best that NYC has to offer, including incredible bagels at Tal Bagel (on Lexington), delicious coffee at Birch (on 58th), and superb wine at Somm Time (a mere 50 ft away at the end of the block). Staff was very attentive and polite. Already looking forward to our next stay!

My daughter and I stayed for three nights in early November. The hotel is recently refurbished and new features appeared daily during our stay. The staff is friendly, caring and hard working. The rooms are comfortable with individual temperature controls. The showers are hot with excellent water pressure. Plenty of towels and toiletries are provided with offers of any extras should you need them. The hotel offers complimentary water bottles, tea, espresso, and coffee 24 hours a day. Each morning magnificent pastries from a bakery on the corner appear in the lounge, also complimentary. During Covid the staff is paying more than lip service to their safety efforts... pastries are individually bagged, there are sanitizing stations everywhere and masks at the desk should you forget yours. All staff members are approachable and friendly. Clearly major efforts are underway to further guest convenience and services... restaurant in the works, outdoor dining under construction and the lobby renovation continues. I can’t say enough positive things about our stay. We’ll chooses this hotel again when returning to the upper East side.

The Franklin boasts an impressive trifecta of style, splendor, and safety. We went for a simple overnight and got greeted by a beautiful and cozy reception area with sanitizing areas, and staff wearing masks. We were on the top floor; the hallways are very quiet, and the elevator feels like you are on a Victorian set.

Our room had plenty of light and the overhead was on a dimmer (which I love). As others have mentioned the hot water was plentiful and they provide beautiful local soap and plush towels. The beds are incredibly comfortable.

There is great outdoor eating and drinking options (with heaters) just steps away. You can find any cuisine you want within blocks. I would recommend staying more than one night to explore the dinner, coffee, and cocktail options all around you. Highly Recommend.

My partner and I decided to get out of our apartment and treat ourselves to a weeknight stay at the newly renovated and upgraded Franklin Hotel. I am so glad we did! It really is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of city life and the current Covid worries. The calmness and cleanliness of the hotel were apparent from the moment we walked in –hand sanitizer stations in the lobby and elevator, hand washing sink for the staff, and well spaced relaxing seats and work areas are just the beginning. The rooms are quiet, cozy and well laid out. The ability to control the temperature in our room was a huge plus - no one wants to leave and come back to an overheated, stuffy room. The new shower heads and plenty of hot water helped to wash worries away.

The ease of access to the subway is an added bonus. We took the 4/5/6 one express stop down to 59th st and had the most amazing outdoor dining experience at Amali!

We can’t wait to return to The Franklin and are so looking forward to our next getaway at this European-styled oasis in our backyard!

I was looking to do a staycation in the city and came across this newly renovated boutique hotel. The location in the UES could not have been more perfect, there are tons of restaurants in the neighborhood all within walking distance. The style and design of the hotel was trendy but also felt safe and very clean, which is important during COVID times. Staff was very attentive and polite. I will definitely be recommending to any friends/family when they visit!

We stayed at the Franklin for several nights in July. The location is outstanding and the rooms, while very small, are cozy, decorated nicely and the bedding is very comfortable. We appreciated using the Beekman 1802 toiletry items and the shower had good water pressure. I’m glad we only brought carry-on bags as there was very little room to store our bags without tripping over them. We had some trouble with the AC in our first room (it kept turning off) and were moved to another room after this happened several times. I see from the below reviews that other guests mentioned enjoying complimentary coffee specialty drinks and cold water. While we went in and out of the hotel several times during each day, we were offered bottles of water only once during our entire three day stay. On one occasion, the desk agent offered water bottles to other guests in the lobby, but she did not offer any to us even though we were standing two feet away and I was too embarrassed to ask; so, you may want to inquire about this benefit. There was a very nice Starbucks and a Whole Foods store located at the end of the block. For those who have accessibility issues, the front entrance has several steps that must be climbed in order to enter the hotel and the front desk agent declined to call us a taxi when we were leaving and asked for her help. Despite these blips, I think we would stay again, but they detracted from an otherwise very nice if somewhat expensive stay.

Dear junodee, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience online of your recent stay with us. I am so happy to see that you enjoyed your stay at voco The Franklin New York! We do offer the first "round" of specialty espresso beverage for all of our guests as part of the inclusion in our destination fee. I apologize if the staff made you feel uncomfortable by not offering bottled water each day, we strive to deliver consistence and exceptional service to all of our guests. We try our best to offer water to all guests particularly on hot days, but it is always available upon request. While the few steps at the entrance can be cumbersome, we do have a portable ADA lift for any guests that require accessibility access. The front desk team does their best to help with taxi's, but they don't tend to come through our cross street regularly. We typically recommend catching one from either corner as they are far more frequently driving by in the other direction. We look forward to welcoming you again the next time you come to visit the Upper East Side! Thank You, Jessica Thompson General Manager

Friendly staff was attentive and responsive to my needs - from opening doors, recommending a restaurant, to helping me with the buttons on the remote control for the (exceedingly quiet!) heater/AC unit. My room was on the 9th floor not facing the street making it quiet (by NYC standards). It had everything I needed to spend the night and relax after a long day working in midtown. Though there were hotels closer to where I was working, I wanted to stay in a residential area and in a smaller hotel with fewer people coming & going to minimize COVID exposure.

They offered me a cookie when I arrived, coffee in the morning, and there was complimentary bottled water in my room.

Parking could not be easier: there is a loading zone directly outside and partnership with the neighboring garage.
Location is great: 1 block from 86th St 4/5/6 train, and cabs are easy to hail on Lexington.

I’m a cameraperson in town for a TV shoot and I was lucky enough to find a place in Manhattan that I actually enjoyed! I’m a sometime traveler and round the clock diabetic. The Franklin, like most boutique hotels in NYC, doesn’t automatically provide a refrigerator. I called in advance to ask about storing my insulin – I’m sick of lugging a mini-fridge around on vacation – and they said they could easily accommodate my needs. A mini-fridge was brought to my room so I could access my medication. I was able to sleep without being disturbed (the sound proofing is amazing), wake up to a shower with ample water pressure (which I’ve rarely found in my travels), and get to my gig on time, refreshed, and full from the complimentary breakfast. I got lucky with this spot. Highly Recommend.

It's been a while since we were at The Franklin - and has it changed! They did a terrific job with the renovation. We enjoyed the room (bed was extremely comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean), the staff was helpful and accommodating, and you can't beat the location. We took a walk in Central Park each morning. Will definitely stay at The Franklin again!

When we checked out we were offered the option of leaving our luggage, but it wasn't necessary. I'm not sure why DEngelJ said to not stay there. We enjoyed it more than any other NYC hotel in which we've stayed. It is quaint, good location, and the staff was excellent. It's not the Ritz, but it is also affordable (by NYC standards).
