Detailed Reviews
First time to stay at The Kimberly, but no the last. Every attention to detail. Excellent staff from top to bottom in multiple situations. The rooms are elegantly appointed (appear completely renovated) and I can highly recommend the one bedroom suite which include a balcony outside the living area. The staff went beyond expectations for ice, linens and coffee--making sure we were pleased. The location is far enough away from Times Square that crowds are avoided, yet close enough to shopping that you can walk. I will plan to stay here again.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I stayed for two nights in a one bedroom, two bath suite on the second floor that felt more like a suburban apartment than a hotel in a great part of Manhattan. But what is even more impressive than the spacious, beautiful accommodations is the service. From check in to the turn-down service and everything in between, I could tell that the employees took pride in their work and put their guests first. You can't ask for more.

Outstanding hotel!!! The service , the room, the location and the staff . Everything was walking distance . Times Square is a 15 min walk away. Nothing I asked for was left unanswered. We checked in past midnight and they made sure we had water and bathrobes, slippers and everything ready . In the Morning they made sure we had great coffee in our rooms ready to make. Wolfgangs Coffee is delicious - I know coffee :) and no hotel coffee has ever met my standard of coffee taste except this one. The room was so spacious. The hotel has a 1930’s vibe and it is breathtaking. I have stayed in many hotels but the Kimberly is by far the best I’ve ever stayed in. You get what you pay for and much much more! It’s in Manhattan but away from all the noise so you get a great nights sleep in their comfortable beds. The door man was always smiling and making small talk , making sure we are taken care of . Sadie at the front desk was our go to person , she’s one lady I will never forget :) so nice and welcoming !! She made sure that when We left the hotel at night, housekeeping would have cleaned our room by the time we came back. No matter the time! The terrace upstairs is breathtaking with its views and they even give complimentary snacks even if you don’t buy an alcohol beverage! Their bistro downstairs has authentic dishes and so does the breakfast diner next door. To top it off, our small balcony looked over 50th avenue. Perfect if you want to just sit down outside in privacy. The Kimberly hotel is my go to place when I come back!!!

Our hotel suite was just as descripted on the hotel's website and it did not disappoint at all! The extra room of having a suite on an extended stay is highly recommended albeit it would have been nice to have a larger bathroom but there were "side storage" places that helped and the bathroom size was normal for most extended stay properties. The balcony was great to get a breath of fresh air too with table and chairs and nice view from the 26th floor! The pent house "Upstairs" rooftop was aesthetically very pleasing as was the outside "garden nook" just adjacent. The modern small gym had everything for basic machine exercise plus refrigerated gym towels! And last, but certainly not least, the hotel staff was quite outstanding! Everyone was very professional (the ever so helpful Reservations Supervisor, Doorman, Bell Hop, Front Desk & all Restaurants) yet so cordial and attentive. Honestly, I cannot list one thing that was amiss other than wishing the mini frig had an ice maker, but then the Front Desk delivered an ice bucket when requested so really, not one thing to complain about! :)

This has been my go to hotel in NY. However, I think I'm going to start staying elsewhere. While making reservations, you choose a room and pay the price for the a specific room (all rooms are different prices) and when you check in they tell you your room you booked my not be available. Well, when I book an one bedroom suite with a reservation, then I expect an one bedroom suite, if I book a standard room then I should get a standard room. That's what a reservation is for- to reserve the room I booked. Maybe they need to do a better job of keeping up with what is booked to ensure they have the room available when you get there. I hate this because it is my hotel of choice but it's not worth the hassle anymore. Besides that - it is a great hotel, great location and staff.

What a lovely hotel!
The location is ideal. You are close to many midtown sights including Grand Central, Rockefeller Plaza, and Times Square but far enough away from the noise and touristy bustle.
Our room was HUGE. We had a double suite, which included a full kitchen (with a dishwasher!), a dining area with table and chairs, a sitting room with a sofa, chairs, coffee table and desk area, an outdoor balcony, a bedroom with 2 beds, and a bathroom. The size of the bedroom alone was bigger then most NYC hotel rooms, but the whole suite was enormous! And there were FIVE closets. Five!
Each room was lovely, although the balcony had no furniture so it was hard to enjoy, and the bathroom was on the smaller side with dim lighting. There was also a peculiar beeping noise in our room that would randomly sound throughout the time we were there. Not sure where it was coming from.
The room was very clean and pretty well maintained. The bedding was very soft and comfortable; each bed had 2 soft and 2 firm pillows to choose from. Towels were ample. There was a nicely stocked mini bar, a variety of snacks, a coffee maker, and nice extras like umbrellas.
View from our balcony on the 26th floor was nice, but we were on the back side of the hotel so couldn't see the Chrysler Building.
The rooftop was fine, but drinks were overpriced and it was very crowded the night we were there. We didn't go to the breakfast served up there. Ordered a couple of beers from room service one night and it was a bit slow.
Staff was a mixed bag, but the concierge (forgot his name) was the shining star. I believe he said he's been working there for 30 years or so. A delightful gentleman!

This hotel was highly recommended by a friend and we stayed here for 3 nights. His recommendation was spot on with super soft bed linens and because we were given a high floor, we had a great view of our surroundings. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, especially the doormen who never failed to greet us whenever we left and return for the day. Highly recommended.

The hotel is perfectly situated in Midtown Manhattan on East 50th, used 50th, just blocks from the park, 5th Avenue, Park Avenue and Rockefeller center.
The staff are extremely courteous and efficient, the rooms are clean very comfortable and offer some nice extra amenities, Snacks, water, and a wet bar if you choose. ( Room service is also available and very efficient)
The rooftop is outstanding with fabulous views, light snacks and great beverages.
We had a small issue with our room and the staff, And particularly the general manager, were incredibly professional and resolved it immediately to our satisfaction, going above and beyond what they needed to do to ensure our stay was uninterrupted and enjoyable.
If we're staying in Midtown each side Manhattan we will definitely be staying at the Kimberly again. Could not recommend it more highly.

The Kimberly Hotel was an overall good stay for us. Here is a summary of the pros and cons from our trip. We stayed 4 nights in a one bedroom suite on the 28th floor.
Pros:
Great location
Room was exceptionally clean and smelled amazing when we arrived
Hospitality and customer service were excellent (very welcoming and helpful)
Nice amenities through out the room
Cons:
Ergonomic bed remote did not work (Maintenance came to repair it immediately)
The bathtub had a very slow drain. During showers water would just pool around the tub. (Maintenance was able to fix it in about 20 mins)
The toilet stopped working and would not flush properly (You guessed it, maintenance was able to fix it right away).
It's an older hotel, so things are probably just wearing down a bit.
Nevertheless, if given the opportunity, we would stay here again!
We would also recommend it to others, but just keep an open mind to potential hiccups. :)
