The front desk staff was incredibly rude and annoyed that he had to check my wife in to the hotel. He didn't even bother making eye contact. The room was dirty, with all kinds of dust bunnies (see photo) stuck on the ceiling, stains on the bed sheet and random surcharges applied. We also reserved for a queen bed but it was a full instead.

I found this hotel disappointingly not clean enough - it's carpets, bedrooms, bathrooms. It was dingy and it failed to live up to his ambition to be a hip, designer-driven fun place to stay. The rooms are not just small; they're cramped, and ours lacked a closet or bar on which to hang clothes. The Queen bed seemed small. The shower was strangely too hot, very difficult to find a comfortable temperature below scalding. The hallways, dreary. TV and Internet service was adequate. We got free continental breakfast, which was very good. Lobby unwelcoming. Elevators tiny.

The Dream Midtown is a good deal for the money. You can't beat the location, we walked 3-4 blocks to the theater district for both shows we went to. The free breakfast isn't fancy but it saves you $50 and the time of seeking out breakfast elsewhere, and the coffee is good. The rooftop bar has AMAZING views- we didn't venture up there until our last night but loved it when we did. The hotel was very clean, good water pressure and the staff was incredibly helpful.

I only stay at Dream. And every time I go, I'm reminded of why I continue to stay there. This recent visit, Franklin was amazing. He checked me in quickly and was kind enough to go over the area and even accommodate my later requests. Excellent!!

We loved our stay at this hotel. The location is literally a dream being only a few blocks from Central Park and an easy walk to Times Square and other fun areas. We always stay in this area of NYC. The staff was nice, the lobby was nice, and the room was cozy in the best possible way. We have so many wonderful memories from our stay here and would encourage others to book this hotel.
