I stayed at the Baccarat this week and truly had a wonderful stay! The hotel is gorgeous, very clean, discreetly positioned and feels very European. You don’t feel like you are in NYC! While there is an overwhelming choice of top end luxury hotels in the city, I feel this hotel is the #1 choice, and I am a Front Desk Agent at a 5 star hotel here in New York, but still quite Biased towards this hotel.

The service is amazing- from the very warm greeting by Abou at the front door, to the entire reception team who is unfailingly gracious and polite, to the lovely servers and hostess in the Grand Salon (Wilmer; thank you, you are lovely!), to the very friendly In room dining servers, and utterly lovely room attendants who always said hello and were the epitome of five star service, they have clearly made a wonderful team here. It’s rare to see service this good, even at the 5 star level, in New York hotels. Thank you Candice Rowe from the sales team for your kindness and assistance with my booking. Thank you Jennifer Varquez for a lovely check in.

My room, 1205, was lovely. A classic king room with a gorgeous strong shower, amazing bath products that smelled heavenly and very quiet with a heavenly king bed. I loved the long wooden table perfect for enjoying in room dining. The beautiful wooden floors were gorgeous.

The turndown service was spectacular. Delicious macarons are left, as well as Evian, ice, lovely opera music, the best slippers, and the curtains drawn.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Drinks were amazing. Wonderful room service breakfast- perfect fried eggs, beautiful desserts, everything was delicious. They have the most exquisite grilled cheese in the grand salon.

This is a special place. From the twinkling light displaying in the ground floor, to the subtle scent, the roses, and the air of privacy and quiet, this hotel is magical.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! I loved it.

Sincerely,
Patrick Winkler

Visited for Thanksgiving week/weekend with my wife. Found the contact with Baccarat teams via email to be excellent on the run up to our stay with quick turnaround times on requests.

Arrived and the room (512 Grand Classic) was ready on arrival and we headed straight to the pool and for a massage treatment. Massage was exactly what we needed and pool area spotless.

Room was immaculate and maid service throughout had good attention to detail. Bathroom products are outstanding and the small details make the difference.

Bar service was swift and friendly, and the clientele was a mix of tourists and instagram types looking to snap the decor, can’t blame them, its beautiful.

There are a few things to note for the hotel management, to help as opposed to create issue. I think the review is still worthy of five stars but little touches would not go amiss:

- No relaxation room in the spa for after massages, probably the first 5 star hotel with a spa I’ve been to not to have one.
- We were not given a form to fill in ahead of the massage to highlight (on paper) our preferences, I think this really should be standard procedure.
- Housekeeping day and night often came at inconvenient times and on two occasions, we were made to stand outside our room for ten minutes while cleaning was done, again, this is the first 5 star hotel I’ve been to where this has happened. For the GMs interest, the standard procedure is for housekeeping to ask when would be more convenient, immediately vacate the room for guests and come back when asked. This needs to be drilled into housekeeping ASAP. We also did not need to hear from housekeeping that this had happened because someone in their team was ill, pretty sure its best to keep hotel problems away from becoming guests problems.

Anyway, it was an overall high quality stay that I feel would be worthy of 4.5/5 stars (as a review). Not quite 5 stars but I’d rather round up than down as overall, it was an outstanding hotel and I’d highly recommend staying here over the other more touristy ‘grand dame’ hotels if you actually want a polished and slick product.

Thank you for an absolutely wonderful and memorable stay!

The Baccarat hotel design and decor is nothing short of magnificent; modern vibes with a generous helping of elegance and class. The service on all fronts was completely sublime, with each hotel staff member clearly making it his/her business to fulfill our every wish in the most gracious manner. Was very fortunate to receive an upgrade to a more spacious room with a city view, on a high floor and with a wonderful bath tub; it was enjoyed and appreciated very much. The Rouge 540 products are everything you expect and more. I came across the perfume in Paris a few years back and have been wearing it daily since, so you can imagine the delight in stepping into a hotel practically bathed in the same opulent scent.

Baccarat chocolates welcomed us to the beautifully designed room, and signature macarons were later left at turndown. The in room bar will blow you away - Baccarat crystal at every turn. The bed was very comfortable, bedecked with dream-inducing pillows and superb quality linen. The marble shower was powerful, very large, and the deep soaking tub was a real highlight!

I requested a coffee maker in the room and received it swiftly together with all the accompanying necessities. In fact, anything requested at all was brought so quickly and with true white glove service.

The swimming pool downstairs is not to be missed, and each spa staff member went out of their way to make our time there perfect and memorable.

This was my first time at the Baccarat hotel, but it certainly will not be my last.

I’d like to give special mentions to:
Bruno at reception was exceptionally welcoming and helpful on the way in and out.
Tony graciously and quickly fulfilled phone requests, including extending checkout time. So very appreciated.
Tenzen provided superb butler service bringing larger robes and waters, and so beautifully presented too.
LIZ at the spa/pool front desk was just incredible; friendly, attentive and such a pleasure during our time there.
LIZ the spa attendant was also wonderful and so helpful with any assistance needed in the locker/sauna/shower area.

As usual I made a last minute reservation to celebrate our anniversary during these trying times. We live in the suburbs now so it was nice to be in the City even though its weird that the hustle and bustle is missing. Its easy to miss this hotel if you are not paying attention but the bellman are very helpful in getting you in the door. The hotel has an arrangment with a lot about 3-4 blocks away for reasonable parking rates ($39 per day).
The reception area is on the second floor and they were ready fo us so no wait at all for our early check-in (thank you American Express). The room was a tad larger than the boutique style that appears to be so prevalent in the city. The shower was a great size and the large shower head fantastic. There is decent closet space and a large table to eat or do work if you so choose.
The location is great with a lot in walking distance to eat and drink. I was pleased with both the service and cleanliness. They had a few masks and hand sanitizer in the room.

The staff and grounds are exceptional and there is no accommodation in the city that would come close to either.

Guests who look for stays at this price range, typically are exceptionally discriminatory in not only the service and quality, but with security and discreetness.

The staff and management are incredibly warm and hospitable, including Yasser, the front office manager, who went out of his way to ensure our long stay was comfortable. Kelvin and Dumbia recognized us the moment we arrived and welcomed us back. Ivica, Sofija, and Ivanie at the Grand Salon made each breakfast special with their hospitality, charm, and warmth.

We have a number of choices at this level in NYC, but we will always be back to the Baccarat because of the people.

Stayed at the baccarat many times. It is actually my choice hotel on the UES. I am concerned that the hotel is going down hill. The service is incredible but the rooms are starting to be unkept. Examples. My bathroom mirror and closet mirror both were cracked. If your spending $2500/night for a suite you expect a certain level of maintenance. On top of that we had three lightbulbs out. Two over our dinning room table and one next to the TV. These are little things that the hotel maintenance crew should check before each guests arrival. Lastly I felt nickel and dimmed at the hotel this last stay. In this large suite I stayed in there was no silverware in the bar area. So I called the front desk for silverware. Upon checkout I was charged $26 for silverware use! How insane, especially at this level of hotel!! I was insulted. They should have gifted me the silverware then. I loved this hotel before but am having my doubts now. They need to clean up their act and maintain their rooms better. Not saying I will not give them another chance, but I am definitely not opposed to looking at other hotels in the area for my next NYC stay.

The Location of the Baccarat Hotel was great, tucked away in a quiet street right of 5th Ave.
The door staff did a decent job directing us and opening the doors. The concierge staff was very kind and knowledgeable as was the front desk personnel.
We booked a Suite and were upgraded to a beautiful Prestige Suite on the 7th floor.
This is a small hotel, the restaurant area looked beautiful, however the service was as bad as it get gets.
Room service delivered wrong items on all but one morning. We were offered a fruit plate to make up for the inconvenience. It was delivered 1h later, beautifully prepared, all fruits were whole and some were wrapped in a ribbon, however we were not able to enjoy it, as the housekeeping discarded the whole untouched plate!

Going to the restaurant was even worse.
My omelet was ordered plain with only two ingredients, it was delivered with tomato salsa on top, I kindly asked to have it replaced, when it came back it was simply turned around !!!!!!
This is unacceptable in any kind of dining establishment, especially when you have severe food allergies and auto immune issues and frankly it could of ended very differently!!!!! I was shocked!

The server apologized and a fresh omelet was brought to me, however this time with the wrong ingredients.
Again, the server apologized. After about 20 Minutes the omelet finally made it to our table.
The manager did not apologize rather said I hope it is prepared correctly this time. It was, thankfully after 4 tries! For us it is all about the little things that make a stay memorable in a 5 Star Hotel.
All in all there were many small things that were lacking. It is a beautiful hotel, but we left with a bitter taste in our mouth as it was not up to par with other 5 Stars Hotels close by.

To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. We stayed at the Baccarat for one night for my birthday after a recommendation from a friend. It was not our top choice in location but I felt confident that the caliber of the hotel would be well worth it. We paid extra for a high floor to ensure a quiet and peaceful night sleep, as we have two young children at home who do not always guarantee us a solid night sleep. Around 1am it became apparent that a neighboring room had music playing. It kept us awake until 4am despite the staff bringing ear plugs to wear, in addition to my headphones, and a pillow over my head. The hotel was accommodating but unable to locate the source of the noise. When we awoke in the morning it was clear that it was coming from the television of the unoccupied room next to us - which I assume had been left on mistakenly. The TV speakers are behind the tv in the wall so the bass of the music from the welcome screen was coming straight through our shared wall. I am now spending my actual birthday day painfully exhausted, frustrated and completely disappointed that this happened at such a high end hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in November and with all the different hotels to choose from we stayed here AGAIN in January for a staycation because it is just that AMAZING. As a native New Yorker Ive spent time in so many NYC hotels but the Baccarat is that total discreet luxe experience from the moment you step in the door. We chose to do in-room dining for dinner (filet and ribeye) and breakfast ( so yummy) - and it was as delicious as if we were eating in a restaurant. The fact that there is a spa and a heated pool with private lounge areas (we took advantage of both) is priceless as not many NYC hotels have pools. I can't say enough good things about this hotel, the service and our experience. Looking forward to staying again as soon as we can!

My wife and I visited in September and had a less than satisfactory stay, due do problems with check-in, room service and unavailability of the main public space Grand Salon for breakfast or even to walk through. I responded to a request for a review by pointing out these problems. Surprisingly, I received a call from the GM, who immediately apologized, making no excuses and asking me to give them an opportunity to make up for it. I had another trip to NYC scheduled for October to visit my daughter, so I decided to give it a try. Everything turned around. The physical facilities are beautiful (such as elegant, understated rooms and Baccarat crystal in the mini-bar), and the service was excellent throughout my 3 day stay. The beautiful Grand Salon was open for breakfast, and a great touch was the waitress offering up a selection of four different Baccarat flutes to choose from when I ordered a glass of champagne at brunch. In my case, the hotel took constructive criticism to heart, and provided me with a wonderful stay. I will definitely return.

Room service is provided but to my knowledge a guest can bring into their room whatever they wish to eat. I have never had an experience in which I was told that room service was my only option to eat on my room at any hotel in the US. If you are concerned still, a quick email to the front desk asking should put your mind at ease. Happy travels!

There's a store around 100 yards down the road. They do sandwiches as well I think, and tea & coffee. But as Joan L says, there are loads of stores in the area. For example a Pret a Manger on W 55th which is 5 minutes away.
