The AKA Times Square provided a suite option for our family that I couldn't find with a hotel -and I didn't know the area well enough to comfortably choose an AirBNB. The location was less than a block from Times Square, so far enough away to be able to walk to a less busy corner to catch a cab & avoid the crowds but close enough to walk to any theater, restaurant, museum in the area. The staff was very welcoming & it felt like having an apartment vs. a hotel room. The welcome email we received a few days before our stay was very helpful, as was the option to order a starter pack of groceries. Having a small washer/dryer in our room was incredibly helpful.

My husband and I stayed at the AKA Times Square for 14 days. Our stay was extraordinary. We rented a deluxe studio with den which had recently been refurbished.
The staff (front desk, doormen and housekeeping) cannot do enough for you. The kitchen and bathroom were modern and beautifully appointed. Wifi was lightening fast. The washer/dryer in the room was a blessing and allowed us to travel lightly.

We just spent our Christmas/New Year holiday at the AKA Time Square. You couldn’t ask for a better location if you want to be centrally located. Literally just a few steps from Time Square, just a few minutes walk to several subway stations and an abundance of nearby restaurants and bars. In the heart of the action (a very busy time in NY) but very quiet which allowed for a restful night’s sleep.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ordered some groceries in advance, and the staff had unpacked everything in our apartment for our arrival.
Our beautifully clean and updated two bedroom apartment was much roomier than expected, and stocked with everything you could want for a comfortable stay including full kitchen, washer/dryer and even 3 televisions!!
The only issue (if you make it one) is the one tiny bathroom which can make things a little slow getting ready in the morning when travelling with teenagers.
We had an issue with the hot water on Christmas Eve/Day but management addressed the matter as soon as possible after the Christmas break, and compensated accordingly.
I really can’t fault this place, would chose to stay again, and would definitely recommend to friends and family .

We stayed for the week of Christmas/New Year. It’s a great location, the rooms are enormous for NYC standards and the staff are all pleasant and helpful. The kitchen cupboards etc. could possibly do with replacing as they are very scratched and damaged but on the whole the apartments are brilliant. The TV was slow and old and could probably do with an upgrade but we only watched it when we got home at night so it wasn’t a massive problem. I ordered a grocery delivery on the day we were arriving and the employees had unpacked it and placed it in our kitchen/fridge on arrival which was great. A bit of updating and this place could really be a 5 star stay. The room is noisy at night mostly with cars beeping horns (we were on the 5th floor) but that’s NYC for you and there is probably little that could be done to resolve that but light sleepers may wish to bring ear plugs. We got a cab to and from the airport which was cheaper than the car that we were offered by the hotel prior to arrival.

Booked this place because it was a similar price to hotels in the area but with 4x the space. For the price, I was actually a bit skeptical that it would live up to the newly renovated photos but we were blown away by the cleanliness, size of the space, location (literally right in the middle of Times Square!) and the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff (special shout out to Kevin!)
Honestly, if you're reading this review to make a decision about whether you should book here or a hotel nearby I would 100% recommend this place. We've already said we'd come back here if we ever visited New York again.
We travelled from the UK, and if you're a tourist, you'll be worn out from sightseeing around New York and on the evenings it's sometimes just nice to relax, and the size of the apartment was perfect for this. Couldn't imagine anything worse than getting home from a busy day and wanting to relax and just having to sit in bed in a cramped hotel room.
Honestly, if you're reading this review to make a decision about whether you should book here or a hotel nearby I would 100% recommend this place. We've already said we'd come back here if we ever visited New York again.

The place is clean, situated in a great place, but is to expensive for what they offered. 2 dedroom 1 bath for 650.00 a night and if the sheets are not clean enough they charge you almost 70.00 us for disposal them. We have traveled all arround the world and this is new to us. We did other reservations to go to Washington DC and just canceled them. The millenium hotel is next to them and clean your room Avery day

I had another hotel booked when I found AKA and called to ask a few questions. I was surprised when I reached an actual human after a few rings. Liz was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. Because of this I cancelled my other reservation and booked with AKA.
It's a block off of Times Square so super walkable to tour pick up/drop off spots, shows, restaurants, etc. I can't say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They are very accessible via text, put away the groceries and wine we ordered prior to our arrival and ordered a car service for us to get to the airport.
I traveled with a high school girlfriend and the studio with office was a perfect size for us. We ordered a rollaway bed for the office and it worked out really well. There is a ton of closet space and having a washer/dryer were great. The shower was nice and a bonus were the Aveda products they provided.
I would stay again and have already recommended it to people traveling to NYC. Thank you all for everything!

Took our son on a Senior Trip to NYC. He wanted Times Square and this hotel is in the best location! Lots of places close by like Rockefeller, Madison Square Garden, Grand Central Station and always Times Square which was only half a block away. The hotel is secure and extremely quiet!! Front desk staff, especially Tina, were very courteous and always greeted us with a smile! If you are staying for a week, this is such a great place to use as home base. We stayed in a two bedroom with a full kitchen and washer dryer for just a little bit more than a high rise hotel farther away. This was a very luxurious place to stay! We would definitely recommend this hotel!!

I was there during the 2014/15 NYE at AKA Times Square and can confirm that the view is from a very small (and inconvenient) angle from the terrace.
We went to whole foods which was a close walk and got most of the things we wanted, but we were just looking for breakfast foods. The whole foods is ok - lots of things were not stocked and they were extremely busy and very expensive! But it worked for us with getting a little bit of cereal, eggs, juice, etc. We used the Walgreens in Times Square for pop, water, and they also have fresh fruit and sandwiches. We noticed that AKA received a lot of deliveries while we were there that week! Wish we would have thought to do use a service such as Fresh Direct or Amazon! Enjoy your stay...Caesar is a wonderful resource and a great guy to talk to. He will point you in the right direction for restaurants and things to do!
