This hotel provided everything we needed for a fantastic superbowl weekend in the City.

The hotel is just a couple of blocks away from the Empire State and also Grand Central. There were lots of coffee and sandwich places nearby, bars, as well as pharmacy, food places and 7eleven. So you are in a good spot. The 6 train subway station is right nearby too. We found a great bar nearby called Captains... definitely stop by. Time Square was approx 20 min walk, and Macys a little closer.

The room was small but had a lot of facilities. It was nice and clean and the bedding was comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower with piping hot high pressured water, along with Neutrogena shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath soap and shower cap.
The room had a Krueger coffee machine stocked with pods each day, and we had a small fridge. The bed was comfortable and we also had seating.
We did find the fresh air inlet fan a little noisy, and didn't have to use the air con but that was also a little noisy, but we just turned it off. Reception were really helpful and said if we wanted the inlet fan turned off, engineering could do it for us, but it wasnt that bad so we left it as it was.

We are HiltonHonors members so did benefit from free breakfast. I wasn't expecting much but it was a hot buffet with lots of choice, including baked goods, fruit, yoghurt, cereal and the breakfast hot food (bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, tater tots). It gave us a great start every day, and probably saved us a lot of cash!

Every morning there was complimentary coffee with takeaway cups etc for you in reception, so that was a nice start. Also in the afternoon there were complimentary oatmeal cookies available.

We didn't eat in the onsite restaurant, but we did go for a drink in the bar, it was approx $30 for two generous spirits. I believe this is fairly standard for Manhattan.

We found the team at reception really helpful and friendly. As visitors to the USA, they would help us in any way they could, and would regularly wave and shout hello as we passed. A great asset to your Hotel.

I would recommend this hotel and would definitely return here if I was in the City again.

My company booked me at this Hilton Garden Inn over two nights for work in NYC due to its proximity to the work location and a great weekday rate for Murray Hill/Lower Midtown. Although space in the room was a bit tight, it was definitely efficient for all my business needs and offered a comfortable bed and a great shower. I had a room facing the rear of the hotel which was very quiet.

The hotel staff was equally efficient and provided very good service throughout my stay.

We had a city visit planned between Christmas and New Years. We had booked a place in Jersey since it was the only decent priced place we could find but upon looking around found this which was fairly comparable so we changed our reservation. It’s fairly centrally located. Only about 0.5mile from Macy’s and other shopping (and the Empire State Building if that’s on your agenda), and it’s about 1.5miles from the theater district and Rockefeller Center. We were mostly seeing shows down in the theater district and chose to walk the entire time and didn’t have any problem. The neutral rating is because I feel the price and location is almost where the positives end. Our room was decent sized, clean, had a fridge/microwave, and had a tiny sliver view of the Empire State Building. However, the bathroom door is designed to stay closed (when open it blocks the main door) and there was no way to keep it open. This was very annoying...we had to use a hair tie to keep it open when we so wished. We also didn’t notice the luggage carts right away and no employees mentioned they had some even when watching us struggle to get our luggage upstairs. My biggest gripes are probably with the luggage storage and valet parking. We stored about 5 bags between the 2 of us. They took them and laid them near the desk. We came back a while later and some of the bags were still laying there unattended, including my backpack which had my $3000 MacBook in it. None of the staff was paying attention to it, someone could have easily came right up and grabbed it with no notice. I didn’t appreciate that they just left it there. So if you store luggage make sure you watch to make sure it goes into the room before you walk away. I’ve never seen this before anywhere else. Also we wanted to valet park...when we got there they tried to convince us to just street park instead. I found that weird and really didn’t want to leave our car on the street. We noticed that, like our luggage, it too was left unattended and street parked for a good while. Not sure why someone didn’t take it right away. Despite the negatives it was a decent room in the city. If the price was as comparable as it was when we booked I would likely stay again.

The room stay was ridiculous! There was trash in the room from the previous customers and the room service was requested after checkin and it was not done once during our 3 day stay. We came back late and the room service was done just for the sake of it on our 2nd day. The towels were not replaced, bed was not done and the trash wasn’t taken. We had high expectations staying at a Hilton hotel being a diamond member. Especially during a pandemic, as customers, the cleanliness of a hotel matters the most and it is ridiculous that the previous guest’s trash was left in the room and the room wasn’t cleaned properly before our checkin.
We had requested for room service at-least 3 times and it wasn’t done.
We had mentioned this to the front desk staff on the 20th of March during our checkout and it was informed to us that the GM Jon Schorr would contact us by Monday at the latest . We are writing this review on Thursday, 21st and we had to call the GM to enquire about this situation. He gave us a one night compensation even though he initially mentioned to only provide 5000 bonus points which is nothing. This situation, particularly during a pandemic is so critical and serious because this is something that would affect the health of the customers.
As a Hilton Diamond member, my expectations were quite high especially at a NY hotel. I was truly disappointed and I always stay at Hilton and this situation makes me want to think twice now before I stay at a Hilton property.

Hello shemav2021, thanks for your recent Trip Advisor review. Sad to see how much the tone of your review changed from that of our phone conversation earlier this week. As I discussed, your room was in fact serviced as requested (full service) during your stay with us and yes, of course not only was cleanliness an essential part of our Hospitality business prior to the Pandemic, it is even that much more essential now as we are in a global pandemic. My team and I are proud of the cleanliness throughout this property and stand behind our efforts, every single day. Also, to correct you, I offered you the Hilton Honors points as a token of my appreciation for your feedback, however you felt that you would prefer the alternate compensation - which is exactly what was provided (what you wanted). In any event, my team and I certainly do look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Of course, please reach out should you have any questions. Thanks.

Dont stay in this hilton. First we paid for each night aprox $400, we came early 8am and we were required to pay additional $35 because of early check in. When we got in the room the bathroom was not cleaned during housekeeping so we requested additional cleaning. There were no essential things like shampoo rinse soap. Towels are old and rough, room is smaller than other rooms in NYC. Then next day, we arrived to the room at 4pm, no housekeeping at all. I called the front desk talked to Merryl or Mary and she said housekeeping is only by request. I asked to at least extra towels and shampoo, she was mean , she may need a basic course how to talk to customers. Then I received a call from the manager explaining that I should read the hilton website since that information of no housekeeping is all in the website. Can you imagine my dissapointed stay, dirty bathroom, no housekeeping and no esential things for a hilton hotel at $400 daily. If I have read a review like this one I have stay in another hotel

This is the best hotel at this price point. I stayed at a couple of other hotels at this price point in New York but none of them have a such good overall service. The King bed room felt luxurious; there were lots of small amenities to really make a difference, e.g. microwave and mini-fridge. They also took really good care of cleaning the room amidst the pandemic and had indications of their cleaning throughout the room. Overall, it made me feel very safe.

Location-wise too, the hotel is in a fantastic place as the 6 train stop is 2 minutes away and there are a lot of food options nearby. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay for a few nights in New York.

The hotel overall only 3 stars because there were a few hiccups. We stayed for 3 nights on the 21st floor. It was a great view with floor to ceiling windows.. so this was a plus. The beds weren't very soft but doable for a hotel. The bathroom was big but the tub/shower had mold stains and the water pressure was bas bc it was half running in the tub half running from the shower head.. so it wasn't full force. Besides that there was a standard problem with NYC with the toilets having issues.. so we did have this one hiccups.. but they came fixed it wuick.. no problems.. So what about noise.... well the AC/heating units wakes you up at night bc its LOUD when it runs! It sounded like construction going on the outside when it was actually the unit in our room.. The last negative about this place is that housekeeping thinks everyone should be gone by 8:30am on a Monday and 9:30 am on Sunday and we were woken up daily!! Doesn't make any sense to come so early when we are visiting and were out till 2am!!! If you plan to wake your guests up.. please make sure to give them a cleaning time at check in so we won't feel rushed to get up in the morning. Besides these things... the location is 25 minute walk from Times square so we took Lyft alot so we didn't have to walk in the cold.

This was my second time staying here, and I chose this HGI because of the location again. Both the Green and Yellow lines are closed by and Korean-town with plenty of 24 hours restaurants are within two blocks. The hotel itself seems to go through a renovation this time. The room is small but at least they have a mini fridge and a microwave inside each room. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. My only problem is that weak blackout curtain. The Premium WIFI is working well too with decent speed. In conclusion, my second stay is better and I may consider staying here again in the future.

Great location. Room was small but clean (the bathroom was nice and sparkly). Nice lobby area (was perfect because I needed somewhere to sit for a little while after check out because the ferry didn’t leave for another hour. Bathroom in the lobby was clean as well). The refrigerator AND A MICROWAVE was a lifesaver. Most hotels in the city don’t have that (and for me that’s a big minus I usually like having a kitchen area in my hotel). The only reason I gave it a 9 was because there weren’t any bags in the trash can and the even tho it was Nuetrogena were too small for one person and a little on the cheap side. The Staff was helpful but not pleasant. They just seemed annoyed. However the good thing is that They were available 24 hours which made me feel Safe. And they did answer my questions but didn’t offer certain information that I should’ve been informed of as a guest. For instance whether or not there was breakfast, and in my case I was due a $10 shop/restaurant credit but because no one of the staff told me so i lost out on that gold member benefit.

A short weekend in New York City and this was an ideal base with a good rate considering its location. Next to 33rd Street subway, making it a 1 change trip from JFK, it took a while but it's a cheap way to get to Manhattan. Staff were friendly and helpful, checked in quickly, I'd already selected a room on the Hilton app but this was changed for one a floor below. No issues with that as it was the same room but the floor below. Digital key didn't really work too well in the lifts as it couldn't work out where I was. Worked well everywhere else though. Room was a good size with good fittings, I was facing North onto a quiet street, noise wasn't an issue. Amenities were good, overall my stay was comfortable. Didn't try any on site restaurants. Hotel is 10 minute walk from Broadway, 25 mins from Times Square, so really ideal as I was seeing a show without needing to rely on the subway. Staff helpful when I requested cutlery and to store my bag on last day as flight was in the evening, although did take a while to retrieve as they didn't know where it was. Would definitely stay here again.
