This hotel hit the mark for me. Close to Grand Central Terminal, clean and affordable. I booked through expedia, so I was warned I would get charged a resort fee, so that was about USD20 a night extra. I guess that was for the Club room on level 27, so fair enough. The view up there is nice, there are free snacks until about 8.30pm. You can probably get your monies worth out of drinking pepsi, coffees, lollies and biscuits that are complimentary on level 27. The room I knew would be small (based on reviews). I did not mind that as I was travelling solo and spent most of my time being a tourist in NYC anyway. You can hear your next door's guest phone alarm go off, but again, I take that as standard travel noise. I outline partial downsides in this review, despite giving it the highest mark, because I want readers to fully understand what is there. I got this room at a great rate, so being price sensitive, this place was a win win for me. The porter storing my luggage for the day was also very helpful and I was able to wait in the club lounge after checking out (to wait for my shuttle). That is nice as you can still use the amenities on level 27.

My spouse and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Boutique. The room was clean and quite fresh; size was slightly larger than many in NYC. The decor was contemporary and conducive to rest and relaxation. The central location made it easy to walk to many of the sights and activities and was also very convenient to the Metro. The bathroom was very nice, with its shiny new surfaces and fairly large size. We were on the 26th floor, which was one floor below a lounge where you could get yourself a coffee or soft drink. Unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of their happy hour. Staff was pleasant and service-oriented. My one suggestion is to pay more attention to detail. The bedspread was obviously abraded in one area. (How this could happen is a mystery to me.) The knob on one of the bedside lamps was missing, and the moon-shaped LED reading lamp did not work at all. Perhaps an occasional room inspection would be a good idea. Still, this was a very enjoyable Christmas stay at a very good rate, and I would most definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

We stayed at this location for 17 days while were waiting to move abroad. We previously lived in NYC and know that this location is so central to many parts of the city. The staff could not have been more helpful with meeting our needs. A special shout out to Billy, we loved his energy and to Elizabeth who helped me with numerous package deliveries and printing needs. Great service and value for NYC. Clean and safe.

This hotel isn't quite a 4 star but nonetheless I was very happy with my stay. The location is excellent and its very easy to get to Grand Central and the Subway from the property.

The room was clean and well laid out and had everything we needed, except fresh air, the window didn't open and the fan in the room was either boiling or freezing, no in between. Unfortunately we also had a view of another buildings air conditioning unit.

There's also a serve yourself coffee bar on the 27th floor, which has great views, and free filtered water on every floor which I wish more hotels did.

The wifi worked well and there was a TV with plenty of channels, there was also an option to cast from my phone but I could not get it working.

Overall, whilst not a 4 star in my opinion, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and thought it excellent value for the amount I paid,

Fantastic stay in this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights over Xmas week. I had never previously used or seen this hotel but would def stay here again.

It’s a little difficultly to see from the outside but has a great location. 10 minutes into Times Square, minutes from grand central and Bryant park. All attractions within easy walkable reach. Plenty of local Delhi’s, grocery stores, fast food stores and a couple of bars and pubs within 1 minute walk.

Staff are very friendly here and did greet us warmly every time we walked through the door.
We did have an issue when given the wrong room at check in but this was sorted quickly.

Rooms were of a good size seeing as New York rooms are notoriously small. The shower was fantastic and the bed was comfortable. There is a also a sofa area and table in each room. Lounge on the 27th is nice, has some good views and free coffee. The free refill water bottles on each floor are also welcoming.

Only small gripes were the room was not serviced once during the trip- which we didn’t particularly mind but the bins were overflowing at the end and made the room cluttered. This also meant the coffee was not re filled.

Overall though/ very impressed and would recommend.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is clean. I travel to NYC often to see a show and stayed here due to it being Christmas week and it’s was the best deal I found under $400 a night in the area. Unfortunately, the Superior room does not sleep three people as advertised. One bed and a half of a couch. We thought we were getting a pull out for our teenager and that was not the case. They were kind enough to give us a cot that was uncomfortable and ended up me sleeping on floor while my kid slept in bed with wife. Again, I didn’t expect a large room but I also didn’t expect waking up on floor. Perfect place for a couple but not a family.

Location, price and service were all optimal as we looked for a hotel near Grand Central Station. This hotel was within a block from our arrival station and we received an upgrade on check-in to a larger room for the same price. The amenities were excellent including the opportunity to use the rooftop lounge that provided coffee drinks, work space and lovely outdoor patio with a view.

We stayed here over the New Year period for 4 nights on a couples city break. Immediately what stood out was the location and value of the hotel - both excellent. We decided we'd be out exploring for most of our time in NYC so did not need a grand lobby or huge hotel with restaurants etc. This place matched what we were looking for perfectly. Still modern and comfortable, the hotel met our every need. The rooms were spacious enough and we went for a basic one, the staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful offering lots of knowledge about the city. The absolute hidden gem is on the top floor, an observatory/lounge offering a nice atmosphere of peace out of the chaos of the city and great views outside, the Chrysler building in particular. It has a great coffee machine, and we saw plenty of guests enjoy the ambience with some drinks/food they had bought themselves (there's a small store right opposite). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for those with needs similar to ours. My only feedback is you have to ask for housekeeping services, it isn't standard. Once we knew this it was fine, although we did ask one day and it wasn't done. This was resolved the next day with an apology. Thanks for a great stay

As another reviewer has noted, the hotel will sometimes place large unexplained charges on your credit card. And if they do, good luck contacting them to get it resolved: the phone numbers are disconnected and they do not respond to emails.

I prepaid for a reservation through my credit card's travel portal. Despite this, each day I stayed at the hotel, a new charge appeared on my credit card. I asked the front desk about it and they claimed this happened with all the prepaid bookings because of some quirk of how their computer system works, but assured me that these were just holds, and that the charges would not post. I've never encountered this before, but I figured it was no big deal.

Of course, after I checked out, the charges did post. I tried to call the hotel's publicly listed phone numbers: dead end. The travel portal customer service people have been trying to contact them for three weeks, but this also lead nowhere. Today, I disputed the charge on my credit card.

On top of that, when I asked for a partial refund because one of the rooms I booked had almost no sunlight (but cost the same as other rooms that did), the staff member at front desk assured me that they would do this, but because I had a prepaid booking, I'd have to request this through the travel portal. But, of course, the travel portal folks cannot contact them, so that is also dead in the water.

Whether this is deliberate malicious behavior or rank incompetence, I do not know, but it caused me the same amount of stress either way, so what does it matter.

It is a shame because the hotel itself is nice enough. The location is tough to beat. The rooms are nice (though some of the decor clashes). And there is a large balcony and indoor workspace on the 28th floor with many places to sit, nice views of the city, and free coffee/tea/sparking water. But I wouldn't stay there again, and you shouldn't either.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days and it was actually pretty good (for the price paid). It is not a luxury place to be, but i was not expecting it to be. The rooms are nice, quiet, spacious and have a microwave (which comes in quite handy sometimes!).
The service was friendly although there is only one person working downstairs, which means it can take a while if there is a lot of people.
There was also no housekeeping for the 4 days i was there, so not sure if this is a service they don't provide or they couldn't be bothered.
The terrace on the top floor is great and a good little space to take a break and have a coffee (although the machine seems to constantly be out of milk).
I found it slightly difficult to find the first time around as there is only a tiny plate by the door with the hotel name, so not really easy to spot.

I wouldn't recommend driving in the city but taxi and Uber. Plus parking is outrageous in NYC. I just Googled car rentals by grand central and several popped up.
