Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Average at best experience at this location. Recommend staying at another location for a better experience. Pros: - Semi-close to many attractions and the subway. - Staff overall was nice and helpful. - Semi-quiet inside and outside. - Elevators, although just 2, are very quick. - Bed was comfortable. - Water was hot and lasted long. - Room had a microwave and a fridge. - Free breakfast, although not great, is still nice for a pinch in the morning Cons: - Check-in was not convenient. Early mobile check-in was not honored, which is understandable. Went to front desk to inquire when room would be ready. Was just told that it wasn’t ready. Left to explore city while room was prepared. Around 4:30, called to get an update. Was told room has been ready. If that’s the case, how come no one told me? Would have been nice to be in the room sooner. Lack of communication is concerning. - Room was hot. Uncomfortably hot for January in NY. Had to open window and turn the A/C all the way down. Room didn’t get comfortable until the second night. If the window didn’t open, we would be asking for another room/hotel. - Room is too small for more than one person. Kept bumping into my family just trying to get around. - Elevators/stairs do not require a room key to use. Would feel more secure and safe if they did. - Although somewhat close to attractions and subway, other locations are closer.

Great NYC find for a clean, modern hotel stay. Staff was super friendly, hot fresh breakfast included, great location on a quiet side street between Park and Lexington. Rooms are small but it’s New York City!! And super affordable at around $150 AAA rate. Will be back!

On way back home stayed in this hotel for one night. It’s a very basic amenity property that doesn’t serve the facilities like star rated ones. The room was so far okay and the toilet was clean. No special issues to comment. Travellers intend for a very short stay may opt for this property. Location wise it’s a good one as it is situated in the midtown of NY.

Came to NYC as a 60th birthday celebration. The hotel exceeded my expectations. It was safe, well-maintained, clean, and all interactions with the staff were great. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety and good tasting food. Located minutes from the subway, park and shopping. Definitely would return, it was everything I expect from a Marriott property.

Everything is XXL in this hotel , size of the bed, extra high ceilings in the room we were occupying. Very nice cosy bathroom in Japanese style to counteract. Private spaces were excellent. Public spaces are not in the same range: Entry lobby should be renovated if not by now. I was also stuck in the old elevator. Thus technicalities do not match the name of Marriot. Cannot judge the food, we had no breakfast, terrace was also closed at the time. All in all pretty good memories on an excellent location.

Came to NYC for an overnight theater junket. Was booking a Marriott Hotel and this came up. The SpringHill Suites was perfect. An 11 minute walk up Sixth Avenue to one theater and just 10 minutes to the second one. It’s a small suite but there’s a comfortable king bed, a sofa that may let out, a refrigerator, a microwave, coffeemaker and a writing desk. The complimentary breakfast is very popular with a line during most of the serving hours. Very basic (scrambled eggs, turkey Canadian bacon, oatmeal, assorted breads, cold cereals and oatmeal) but a nice way to start the day. There’s a light bridge around the headboard. Couldn’t find a switch to turn it off. Fortunately, there’s a plug and unplugging it turned it off. Great space for one; might be tight with two.

This hotel was centrally located, with easy walking distance to Times Square/Broadway and easy subway access to everything we wanted to see in the rest of the city. It's a few streets south of Bryant Park, which seemed like it was the cut-off for the throngs of tourists that were everywhere the weekend before Christmas. This was perfect because we didn't feel overwhelmed by people upon stepping outside the hotel's doors, but there were still enough of people around, that we didn't feel isolated and unsafe while walking back at night. I am a light sleeper and am happy to report that I got a good night's sleep here. There was only the occasional sound from outside the hotel, and it was muffled enough that it didn't wake me. The inside had good sound-proofing, too. The rooms were a pretty good size — only the bathroom was small, but it wasn't an issue. Breakfast didn't have much variety, but it was good enough to get us started for the day, and it was free.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city. Rooms and public areas are clean and reasonably updated. Rooms -- all suites -- are somewhat larger than many NYC hotel rooms. The breakfast was passable, as expected for a Springhill Suites.

This hotel is so well located, between 5th and 6th avenues, within easy walking distance to Time Square, Penn Station, Grand Central Terminal, and Bryant Park (with coach service to Newark airport). Any room that offers a view of the Empire State Building is a winner! Room was small but had everything needed, including small fridge and desk. Wifi was excellent, and staff really friendly. Breakfast was ordinary, but there are plenty of other options nearby.

My family went for a long weekend trip to NYC. The SpringHill Suites worked perfectly for us. We had a room with two queen size beds. The room was a good size and we had space to spread out. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The breakfast each morning was good, although very busy and crowded. The street is a one way street and was very quiet as a result. The hotel was a couple of blocks from a subway station and a short walk to Penn Station. When we come back to NYC we will definitely stay here again.
