Location is near so many train lines, Penn Station, and Times Square so it really is central to a lot of transportation options. The front desk staff were super accommodating and friendly. There are some luggage lockers in the lobby where they will happily hold your luggage if you need. The room (stayed in a deluxe single king) is HUGE for nyc midtown. If you have never stayed in a midtown hotel before, these rooms are easily almost double the size of a typical room in the area.

The bed was super comfortable, even asked them what kind it was because it was easily the most luxurious feeling bed I have experienced in a midtown non-luxury hotel! The bathrooms all have Toto toilets which have heated seats and bidet controls and this alone makes the experience worth it (hah). Shower had amazing water pressure and wonderful full amenities by C.O. Bigelow.

There was an LG Styler steam closet which was incredible: it refreshes clothing and steams wrinkles out. The room itself has no art which felt peaceful and the tv had streaming capability. There were no closets or cupboards for clothing but whatever, there were hangers for clothes and a rack and some shelves (also you have a steam closet to make things look great again anyway). I will take a large room with a great bed and awesome amenities over tons of storage anyday.

Another plus is there is a great bagel place literally almost next door to the hotel and other food options nearby. I Doordashed food to the hotel one night and that worked well too.

No real cons for the room or hotel. I have stayed at quite a few midtown hotels that were more expensive that weren't as clean or nicely appointed. For the price this place cannot be beat!

That said, it's midtown west which has always been grunge-y since the 80s. Be aware at all times basically. It's not the hotels fault regarding the area! Also I will take being near so many trains over being isolated.

We stayed in the executive king room for 4 nights in November, and paid around £650 for our stay. I did not imagine our room would be as big as it was, and it was a pleasant surprise. We were on the 7th floor, and the room was a very good size, and very spacious. The room had a little area for the fridge and kettle (the kettle was spotless and sparkling clean), and a large desk area. The room also contained an LG electric wardrobe that could be used to iron out your clothes, we used it on the sanitise setting, and were very pleased. The bed was also very comfortable, and the bathroom was also a very good size (the bathroom had a Japanese toilet which was one of the reasons I booked the hotel!

The location is great, minutes away from Times Sq, Macys, but the hotel was still in a somewhat quiet road, there are two starbucks on either side, with 2 bagel shops, and a dumpling place just opposite the hotel. Check in and Check out was very pleasant, we had a really great interaction with one of the women at reception called Shirley, she was so lovely!

I would definitely recommend this hotel and will keep an eye out for any of the other locations they are based in!

This hotel is absolutely amazing. We arrived at 10 am in the morning and we were offered with a complimentary early check in (SO COOL!). The rooms are huge for NYC, the bed is super comfortable, it has a huge desk and chair and it's all equipped if you need to work from your room. Location is perfect, right in the middle of midtown. Few steps to every great spot in NYC. If you need your room to be cleaned you'll need to request it as they don't clean the rooms everyday. The only this I did not like was that the room faced to another building and because of that it was extremely dark. Anyways, you can turn on the lights and that's it but still.. The bathroom is the star of the room and you'll be so happy to be seating in those warm lavatories. :D. In general terms, Awesome stay, definitely coming back! (We stayed 10 days).

I had the best experience from checking in to checking out! The utmost respect to all the worker’s especially their front desk worker Rachel! She was so kind from helping with checking in my bags to their convenient storage area right next to their unique Live Dinosaur right in their lobby! So, clean, welcoming, & definitely a great location right in Manhattan! It was walking distance to easy transport places and great eateries! Rachel was so attentive with directions to nearby shops and even attractions. The room was incredible, comfortable bed, that LG closet was unique, absolutely made me want one too! Bathrooms were great, didn’t even need to pack/buy shampoo, conditioner, and body wash it had it all! The room location was a great escape from all the noise, especially the honking, nearby construction, couldn’t hear a peep. A huge MAHALO to Rachel again for an additive plus! To my first visit to NYC, can’t wait to come back, & definitely staying again! Not too many photos of the hotel, because nyc got so much to see!

I booked 2 rooms , to accomodate a family of 5 adults : my husband and I , my 2 adult daughters and my sister. Pretty bare rooms. The 2 doubles were a little too small for 3 adults, but it was okay. Clean and simple rooms , with 2 pillows for each bed, kettle for a cup of hot water , you have to bring your own teabags. Nice touches: the washlets on the toilets, and water and ice dispenser on the 8th floor. The hotel is walking distance to some subway stations, and also to Time Square and Empire State Building. No breakfast on site, but there is a Japanese restaurant downstairs for lunch and dinner , and many coffee shops nearby. It was very noisy through the night , so if you are a light sleeper, be prepared !

Three points:
1. The hotel room does not have tea, coffee, or even water! + the bed is wrinkled as if it was used before arrival.

2. The front desk said, literally: “we did not mention in the website that our rooms have coffee or water.” I am baffled! And he kept wearing a poker face as if I’m wrong for assuming the luxury of bottled water.

3. The T-Rex in the front desk is the only eye candy, for photos. You can check it out without paying for this hotel.

4. Temporary: the restaurant does not serve anyone but “special guests” according to the front desk, and these guests have catered rooms. Hence you see 4+ stars rating. I would rate it 10 if I’m invited.

5. One pro: location; proximiy to union station.
But check-out is at 11 AM , so plan accordingly. Half-pro then.

6. There is an LG wardrobe in some rooms. I wanted to try it, as it was a factor in choosing this hotel. The front desk said all rooms with such feature is booked for special guests, and maybe you can switch when one of them leaves.

So, if your unfortunate forced you to stay here, call them and insist on a room with LG wardrobe.

This hotel opened its doors about 2.5 years ago, and as a Japanese-based hotel, is very clean and leans towards minimalism. There is an ice/filtered water machine on the 8th floor. Our room had two double beds, a mini fridge, and large screen t.v. There was no steam-closet (which apparently some rooms do have), or a microwave (which would have been nice for warming up leftovers). And there are no city views at this hotel. However, it is close to Macy's and two subway stations.

At first sight, Henn na Hotel was really pleasant. One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed at, perfect location, close to metro and NJ transit from the airport and a nice and comfy bed.

Then it was time for bed…. While the hotel is fresh, it’s pretty obvious that it was cheaply built with walls thin as paper. We were on the 11th floor and could hear people sneeze on the streets. We heard EVERYTHING, every person walking inside/outside, every beat from the music from the bars, every siren, every car. All night, every night. Did the hotel do something about it? Nothing, they barely could be bothered when we raised the concern.

Here comes the worst part. All checked out and paid for, invoice is correct, no issues with the reception. A few hours later when we were at the airport, I see my credit card charged with an additional $57. I couldn’t figure out what it was and emailed the hotel once I arrived home. They claim I STOLE the TV remote control from the hotel room. It’s was mind baffling that I couldn’t find words for it. We never used the TV, we never looked for the remote or even gave a thought to it. The TV was an 20 year old LG, why would we take the remote with us? There never was a remote.

This is one of the oldest hotels scams in the history, charge the customer for something that is impossible to prove/disprove. The remote control is a classic.

It’s sad to see that an honorable Japanese hotel chain, that stands for trust and respect, steeps down to the hood behavior of New York. $57 is a robbery and a nice try from the hotel. BE AWARE, always check for the typical items in your room, cause they will try and use it against you.

We stayed in a double-double room. It was modern and spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage and to walk around. Robes and slippers were provided. We liked the large countertop space where we were able to easily eat takeout food. We used the bedside table as a stool for extra seating. Loved the heated Toto Washlet loo seat/bidet combo. Also the animatronic T-Rex in the lobby!

Cons: The heating was extremely loud. The lighting in the bathroom was very dim. The bathroom fan was also very loud and could not be turned off when the light was on. The connection to screencast streaming services to the room TV didn't work, despite the maintenance guy trying to fix it.

Note: There is a decent-sized refrigerator in the room, but no microwave or coffee maker. If you want a kettle for heating water you have to reserve it in advance, as there is only one for the whole hotel! (It's a nice one, though!)

I have had my worst experience dealing with Henn Na Hotel NYC specifically with Neil Ganko (General Manager) and John Tichacek (Operations Manager). My flight from Vancouver to NYC got cancelled last minute due to which we couldn't fly to NYC.
I pre-paid for the rooms on May 15th directly with Hen Na Hotel and upon contacting them they asked for proof of flight cancellation, for which airline provided me with flight verification letter. I emailed them the letter and instead they wanted airline to send an email instead. I forwarded airline's email to Neil and John and since then they have not responded to my emails or phone calls. This is after Neil promised over the email that we will refund one night stay after receiving airline's confirmation of flight cancellation. I am attaching email proofs to this review as I would never consider pre-booking with them or providing them with credit card info for any unauthorized use.
Please note I used the same verification letter to get a future credit with the empire state building, Broadway Show and all other reservations we had planned for this trip except for this hotel. This is not my first time pre-paying for a hotel and experiencing flight cancellation but definitely fist where the hotel is refusing refund as well as future credit.
