Hotel location on 45 St between 5 and 6 Av is convenient to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal, and just about anywhere in midtown. Staff is friendly and informative and works hard to please, when it is within their control. Clock radio in room was not working properly, it was replaced next night with working unit. But the model they are using lacks an AM tuner. They have a really nice parlor off the lobby with a full bar. The snack selection is creative, your choice of plain or sparkling water on tap, a fancy coffee machine and nice selections of teas. There's a cooler of soda cans, but it is stocked with A-Treat flavors: no colas and limited diet options. TV is nice and big, but the remote takes some getting used to. Fast wifi is included. Elevators are small. Didn't try the restaurant, menu warns an 18% gratuity automatically added to each check. Architectural style of the time was to build around an air and light shaft. Interior room windows look out to the shaft, with an air conditioning unit below and open sky above. Rooms have been nicely renovated, but hotel was built around 1910, so some of them could best be described as "cozy", with the wide bed taking up much of the room and a compressed bathroom with stall shower. I was not disturbed by the sounds of the city. I may have missed it, but there appears to be no acknowledgment that the building is on a historic register. Staff member told me it was the Webster Hotel ("W" on some decorations) and Teddy Roosevelt's wedding reception was held there.

CQ never let me down as a solo traveler. I never need an overly large room traveling solo so CQ is perfect. But most hotel rooms in NY are small anyway. Location is perfect enough to be right in the heart of Times Square but far enough away to not be disrupted by the hustle and bustle of it. Bed and pillows were comfy, linen was crisp and clean and the walls have to be sound proof or well insulated because I didn’t hear a thing. And I was on the 2nd floor right next to the elevator. Didn’t utilize all of the amenities because I checked in later in the evening and early next morning. However, with breakfast being my favorite meal of the day, I always choose to eat breakfast in the hotel. I searched and searched for a menu before traveling but couldn’t find it. Anyway, I thought breakfast was a little pricey but typical NY prices. I did find the omelette to be a typical omelette price so I opted for that and it was worth it. The potato’s were delicious. Tip: don’t buy the coffee just take advantage of the free coffee in the ballroom.

I spent so long searching for a hotel near to Times Square or somewhere central where I could walk around. After reading all the reviews of all the places, you start to feel that everywhere is bad. Well, I know that's not the case. I found Club Quarters online and saw their deal for 2 nights, so I thought I would call and check. I have stayed at a Club Quarters before in Washington DC a few years ago (reviewed previously), so I knew it wouldn't be bad.

The lady on the phone was very helpful and the reservation was done very quickly. When I arrived, I had some luggage which I wanted to drop off, then return my car (hired), then make my way back to the hotel.

The concierge took my luggage and said he would send it to my room even though I hadn't checked in (as I couldn't leave my car outside without getting a ticket), o I was very happy with that. I dropped my car and walked back an hour later where I checked in. The lady at the desk was extremely helpful and explained the club lounge and the details.

I went to my room, and yes, it is small. What do you expect? Listen, if you're in the heart of one of the most expensive cities in the world and you're paying lower than average, you have to expect a smaller room. Was it too small? No! It was fine. Perfect. I mean, who goes to New York to spend their day in the room? It fitted my needs perfectly. Great location, great service, clean and cost effective. In the evening they have a Happy Hour. During the day, there's complimentary coffee and light snacks.

What more could anyone want? The TV was wall mounted and whilst not facing the bed, you can direct it to face you so when you're lying down you can see it clearly. Again, you really shouldn't be spending so much time watching TV when you're in New York!

As you can see, I was happy with everything. When I was checking out, it was slightly early and I think the member of staff on duty was tired as she wasn't in the best of spirits. The automated check out process was not working, so she mumbled her expression of dissatisfaction and manually checked me out. She wasn't complaining about me though. It was about the system. I thanked her, of course and then made my way outside.

It was a pleasant 2 nights and I found it very reasonably priced.

Would I stay here again? Of course.

I’ve stayed in many NYC hotels - you get used to rude staff (no matter what star rating the hotel has). This is by far the friendliest place I’ve been to. The staff at reception were delightful. Friendly, warm and welcoming. Couldn’t ask for more.

This was my first stay in the city since COVID and I was a little wary about the cleanliness of hotels. I went with half a suitcase full of disinfectant and wipes to clean the room. The room looked spotless (and had a seal on the door to verify it had been cleaned and the remote was in a sealed bag) nevertheless I set to work disinfecting - I even did the bathroom floor, but it was already spotless. I was very impressed. They have a one way system in place in the lobby, hand gel available everywhere, a one-party limit in the elevator and you have your temperature checked every time you enter the hotel. I felt that they had done as much as they possibly could to keep the virus at bay and felt very safe.

I had a nice enough room, big for NYC, the hotel is dated as it is in an old building. But it is just off 5th Ave and very central.

We stayed for 5 nights whilst exploring NYC. The location of the hotel is great to get to subway stations and to walk to 5th Ave - Saks, St. Patricks, Grand Central and Rockefeller.

It was clean and quiet. Our room was on the top floor (P) with a window overlooking the back. We had a TV (never used) and coffee pod maker (I used this for hot water to make tea from bags I took) in the room and a hairdryer in the small, neat, clean bathroom (but not enough shelf space).

There is a lounge with a free coffee making/vending machine and it does dispense decaf! (something I found quite hard to come by everywhere) Take your own water bottles as you can fill them up in the lounge too for no charge, including sparkling water! :) They also have printer facilities (for tickets etc.) at no additional cost.

I believe you can get breakfast at an additional cost but we used the Manhattan Café, literally, across the street. Not only convenient but reasonably priced with an excellent selection of food until 9pm!

Due to COVID, there was no 'housekeeping' but extra towels etc. were available on request from reception where the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend this hotel and would use it again if we go back.

I've stayed here many times but I think now's a time for change.

The location is central and the staff friendly but there are no other positives.

I stayed here in February for nine evenings and left over a week ago, have emailed the hotel three times, and they still haven't released my deposit! They haven't even acknowledged my emails!

The hotel itself is tired. The carpets are very dirty. Again there was a strong smell of drugs in the lobby area on the 12th floor, which happened last year too. This penetrated into my room. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything!

The bar prices are very high and they advertise happy hour but still charged me full price. There are far better bars in NYC so I never bothered again.

Also don't be fooled by the free WiFi and complimentary wine & nibbles. You pay an extortionate fee for these when you leave of around $20 per person per night.

There are far more hotels in NYC now than before. I won't be returning to this one again.

I stayed for 14 nights in this modest and very clean hotel. First impressions externally are not the best due to rather tatty stainless steel doors which are operated via an entry phone or a room key . Check in and out is automated but F.O.H. are on hand to help out if necessary and throughout my stay were always friendly, helpful and courteous. The room PH03 was COVID sanitised and well presented for a property at this price point , but was small as per most Manhattan hotel rooms , as a solo traveller it was adequate had my wife been with me it would have been congested as closet space was minimal and drawer space was poor the room has good connectivity and the A/C is efficient and quiet sleep quality is good with no appreciable outside noise .There is not a fridge or more importantly a safe the lock on the door is adequate and there is no housekeeping unless requested ,bags are supplied for towels and trash which are collected daily from outside the room clean towels are provided via reception on demand, The bathroom is very small and if like me you are tall has a lethal shelf above eye level right outside the shower entrance and partially encroaching over the toilet, it took several days for me to remember it was there particularly during the middle of the night when using the facilities ( irritating in the extreme) . Water pressure is very erratic and hot water takes on average 5 to eight minutes to arrive and occasionally stopped mid shower . Toiletries are as expected at the lower end of the quality scale , towels however are bright white and medium quality . Externally there is a small fitness Center with free weights , multi gym machine and running machine water and towels are provided . public rooms are attractive but the restaurant is closed , there are obviously lots of options to eat in the surrounding area . In short this is a well located modest and very clean low end 4star hotel offering good value in a very competitive and expensive market I would definitely stay her again but would only book a club room. If travelling alone or staying for a few days for long stays personally I would book a suite.

We stayed one night at CQ Times Square. While not really on Times Square (more like 5th Avenue) the location was close enough for an easy walk to the theatre district. I liked the location of our king bedded room on the 11th floor with a view of the utility space between buildings. The height and location were good for damping the inevitable NYC sounds so was quiet and good for sleeping. This is not really an area for window views, so go for quiet. The room itself was semi-austere but quite functional. Hotel recommended parking was on the next block uptown and an easy walk through a small local park. Best of all the parking rate really was the advertised $40/day with no sneaky add ons. The staff was 100% in wearing masks, and about 1/3 of the customers did. Checkout time is a generous noon and the staff happily stored our luggage until we left later in the afternoon after seeing a matinee.

Very happy with the experience here as a solo traveler in Aug. 2021. The room was just as pictured (#1107). Decent size for NYC. Close to Times Square/subway. They had a fancy coffee machine (latte, espresso, etc) on the main floor and cold water machines for bottle refills. No housekeeping but they brought extra towels very fast after asking the front desk. The hotel also had disposable masks available in the lobby and they held my bag (complimentary service) when I checked out since I had a later flight. I would definitely stay here again.
