Detailed Reviews
I first started coming here over 20 years ago for the location, value and security for a woman traveling solo when I came into the City for business without my husband. It has changed over the years—major updating of the guest rooms and bathrooms, overall appearance elsewhere as well. What has not changed is the spectacular view of St. Patrick's from the 9th floor solarium-so close you can almost touch a spire-and the extremely helpful, personable staff. We have sent so many people here who have been equally happy I am beginning to think I should be on the staff!

This historic hidden beauty in the heart of Midtown was the perfect place to rest our heads and our feet while in the city.
From the gorgeous lobby to stunning solarium, this hotel is like taking a walk back in time when people had proper manners and elegance was everywhere. You receive an actual key to your room. A KEY!
We stayed here so we could be in the same hotel as a wedding we attended.
While the event rate was affordable, the additional two nights did not break the budget, especially for convenient location such as this one.
Of particular note was the front desk clerk, Marc. He told us about local pizza places for the best slice, a delicious coffee place that was NOT Starbucks, and even arranged a car for us when we had to check out.
Views from our room to one side was St. Patrick's cathedral and to the other Radio City Music Hall.
The lounge where the after-party took place was spacious and accommodating.

Hard to quantify this property. Feels more like apartment/townhouse living but operates as a hotel. The good and not so good:
1. Staff cares, very pleasant.
2. Library room, solarium on top floor, and ballroom are very cool, each takes up most if not all of it's own floor.
3. Old time style and feel. Rooms are tiny with poor heat/AC control but you can open a window. In mid-town NYC! Good and bad with that obviously.
4. You can fall out of the lobby and find yourself at Rock Center, Radio City and 5th Ave. Perfect.
I'd suggest this hotel if you were traveling alone and/or you were in and out of NYC quickly. Bottom line: It's a cool place to know about.

Spent 5 nights at this hotel in a superior queen (bed) room. We stayed on 6th floor with a nice side on view of St Patrick's cathedral to our left. The room was very clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a safe for our valuables; also a separate walk in type closet which was much appreciated. The reception team were very friendly and knowledgeable; in particular Chris was very helpful with local tips on where to go for a drink or what to see/dp. He did all this with a twist of new york humour which made us feel all the more welcome !
This is a small boutique/art deco hotel which you could easily walk past without realising it was there and that suited us fine. It's location was perfect....far enough away from the madness that is times square and 5th avenue but close enough to access many attractions including the rockerfeller centre and central park on foot. Tube stations are nearby too.
We thoroughly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again one day.

Was a little hard to find. Its basically a doorway. Not much signage outside.
Great location right at Rockefeller center. Walking distance to Radio City Music hall.
Room was clean and had the basics. Bed was comfortable. Shower wasnt bad. Nice shelf above the sink to put toiletries. Extra towels in the closet.
Folks at the front desk were nice.
We paid $300.00 for one night. Im not use to spending that much so, thought it was pricey. Have had much better rooms for half that but, not in NYC.
Ive stayed in places where they offer free bottles of water, as many as you like. The ones in the room were marked at $4.00 a piece.
If we ever go to Rockefeller center again, I would stay here again.

When planning any trip I usually look for accommodations that are within walking distance of public transportation. 3 West Club is suitably located on 51st St, just a few steps from 5th Ave, and the subway station is just a couple of blocks away at 53rd St.
The purpose of my trip was to see Moulin Rouge and 3 West Club is less than one mile away from the theatre, perfect for walking. What I didn't realize at the time was the close proximity to St. Patrick's Cathedral (just a few hundred feet away), Radio City Music Hall (.2 mile), Rockefeller Center Plaza (.1 mile), Central Park and The Plaza Hotel (.5 mile via 5th Ave.) We also walked to the NYPL Schwartzman Building for the Polonsky Exhibit and to Grand Central Station.
I went with a friend so we booked a room with two twin beds. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't review any other part of the hotel experience because we were sightseeing all day and only went back to the room to shower and sleep.
The next time I'm in NYC I will choose this location again.

We stayed for St. Patrick’s Day and chose the location due to its prime parade location and proximity to EVERYTHING. Our room was updated and very nice. We appreciated the uniqueness of the decor and how they add modern touches while preserving historic features. We were surprised by how quiet our room was considering you’re on a Main Street. Even with the window open, we barely heard the traffic below. Our room was on the 5th floor. The closet was huge and we were surprised by the large bathroom. Typical NYC rooms aren’t this large and comfortable for the price. The hotel open terrace was perfect for morning coffee and parade viewing. Everything about our stay was perfect and we will definitely return.

Great location right on 5th Ave, close to central park and an easy walk to the subway for transport. Staff were nice and welcoming. Room had an iron which always a big plus for me. Rooms were cleaned regularly and very well.
Only issue we had was the joining door to the room next to us was very thin. We could hear everything from the room next to us, coughing, talking etc and was even woken up by their snooring at one point. We had to sleep with headphones in everynight which is why its 4 stars for me instead of 5. You can also hear movement room the room above however not as irritatingly loud as the room next to you. Personally this issue would be enough to make me not stay here again.

The hotel is initially hard to spot, but once found on 51st Street, you walk into a very nice corridor. We had a room for two with two single beds. The room was nice, clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was nice and very clean. No complaints. TV was average, but didn’t matter to us. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

Affordable, well-located. Nice rooms. Quiet except for paper-thin walls: my neighbor had an hour-long cellphone conversation at full voice beginning at 6:30 am. I was up for the business day but not a place for discretion. Comfortable bed, good shower, easy in and out. And after having digital key problems at my last hotel stay (different place), it was refreshing to stay in a place that gives you an actual key!

I believe you do need a jacket and tie. I've only had breakfast there and it wasn't required then, but I had a 12-year old grandson with me, perhaps that's why. There were businessmen in suits having breakfast as well. Try HAMA, a sushi place a couple of doors down. We had lunch there and it was excellent.
Thank you for your inquiry. While we do not have a gym, several fitness centers in the area offer day passes to non-members, for about $50. The New York Health and Racquet Club - which is 3 blocks away on 50th St and Madison Ave - is one option.
The dress code is enforced for Lunch and Dinner, but it is relaxed for Breakfast. I hope this helps, and do not hesitate to contact us directly if you have any other questions prior to your arrival.
Didn't have a car- sorry
Hi - I would recommend you get the airport shuttle bus to the port authority bus terminal then get a taxi - taxi will only cost you a few dollars as the hotel is not far away - you could actually walk from the bus station but if you don't know your way about you're best to do it this way :) ...we took the train from the airport but it took ages and it was a massive walk and wait to get to the train! We got the bus back to the airport on our way home and it was much easier!
