Nestled in the heart of SoHo, ModernHaus SoHo has garnered applause for its chic atmosphere, complete with luxuriously appointed rooms and a cosmopolitan vibe, elevated by the warm hospitality of its staff. While its rooftop pool and prime location close to shops and dining are a hit among guests, some have expressed concerns over value, noting steep prices alongside room maintenance issues.
Nevertheless, the attentive service and cleanliness are frequently celebrated, making it a popular choice for travelers seeking a stylish New York stay.

The Modernhaus Soho, a distinguished hotel, is close to all the buzzy action of the Soho. My King Studio was outstanding with it's wall of windows that afforded an abundance of natural light and stunning views of the cityscape. Wood floors, beige palette, blue popping fabrics, working desk area and let's not forget the wild & crazy mural over the headboard. The spa-like bath was outfitted with rain shower and heated floors. The 23 Grand is a geometry of spaces, an urban oasis with a collage of indoor/outdoor areas designed for communal dining activities. The Grand componentry is structured with a glass-enclosed dining room, a luxe lounge with an accompanying terrace, several outdoor elevated areas and a private event space. This eatery serves international flavors with a Mediterranean twist and the menu displays items such as : Tuna Carpaccio, Cauliflower Steak, Breaded Tile Fish and more......I selected a delicious duo of Butternut Squash Soup and Pappardelle. 18 floors up is the Jimmy, a rooftop space featuring an outdoor pool deck and is surrounded by large windows for a panoramic view while sipping cocktails. The Jumping Jack is an eatery serving all day parts, configured in a coffee-cum-cocktail lounge format. There isn't a spa but other wellness perks include a state-of-the-art gym. The sensational Aire Ancient Baths (& spa) is a quick 5 minute walk from the hotel. So, if you are looking for a hotel that is remarkably different from any other one in NYC...........then try the......... Modernhaus Soho..........a vibe that sets it apart.

Hello Conny, Thank you for sharing your glowing review with us! We love hearing from guests who embrace our unique aesthetic and decor elements here at ModernHaus, and we are thrilled you took full advantage of our amenities. Thank you for joining us at 23 Grand, where it certainly sounds like you explored the breadth of our menu, and Jimmy, where the views are epic and the drinks are creative and perfectly prepared. We are glad you joined us in our fitness center and at Jumpin Jacks as well, and we hope to remain your home away from home in the city for years to come. Warm regards, Kori Yoran, General Manager kyoran@modernhaussoho.com

We booked two rooms for 8 days for a business trip with the family. The view, especially from the corner skyline room, is phenomenal. The furnishings in the rooms (including the deluxe rooms) are very stylish in a mid-century style. The hotel is centrally located in Soho. The staff is friendly and helpful. When we moved into the room, the shower still had traces of the previous guests, but otherwise the room cleaning during the stay was top notch. The heating in the room was not warm enough at first when it was below zero outside, but this was eventually fixed. The breakfast at Jumpin Jacks on the second floor was good, but with the budget from the breakfast booking of $30 per person, it was a bit complicated to negotiate with several rooms and several people having breakfast together. The billing for this was initially incorrect when checking out, but could be corrected after a lengthy discussion. There were a few small defects, but these did not negatively affect the overall impression. Overall, highly recommended.

I recently spent several nights at ModernHaus SoHo with my mini goldendoodle and I truly cannot say enough complimentary things about the property, location, and staff. Everyone working at the hotel was kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make both my dog and I feel valued and welcome. Kristy Maynard, in particular, went out of her way to ensure that our needs were not only met, but far exceeded. Upon checkin, Kristy made sure we had a dog bed, bowls, and anything else that would ensure we had a comfortable stay (including lots of dog treats and snuggles for the pup!). The property itself was very clean, modern, had fantastic art on display, and was in the perfect location for us to wander SoHo and to further explore the West Village, Greenwich Village, Chelsea, LES, TriBeCa, and Battery Park. It was easy enough to pop up to MOMA to take in some art and over to Al Hirschfeld to catch a matinée, but nice to return to a much quieter, cleaner part of the city afterwards. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the restaurants on property (too many old favorites to visit elsewhere), but they looked and smelled incredible. Will definitely dine on site in future. So looking forward to our next stay - highly recommend visiting the hotel yourself!

ModernHaus is a sleek hotel very well located in Soho . Conveniently close to subway access. The room we were assigned was spacious with a view - albeit over a building site. It was also very quiet ( as requested) .If you are not lucky enough to have your ‘high room with view” as depicted on their website, you can still appreciate the location and stunning outlook from the gym or of course the rooftop. We had no access to the roof top (?) .The room was an ok size but configured to not really be big enough to fit all three of our suitcases. We appreciated the small seating area with table. Bathroom is of the glass box in the room style - but privacy is well maintained with a nifty retractable blind. Lovely high quality le labo shower products. Unfortunately the “hotel communication system” via phone/text did not work on either of our international phones ( front desk did try several times for us) . Staff provided a printed list of recommended local restaurants which was very helpful , and an additional holiday list of Christmas themed activities/ sights also useful.
There are a few things that made this less than a 5 star experience for us.
The breakfast ( we had on 2 mornings ) was terrible . We ate in jumping jacks and on both occasions the hot meals arrived cold - rubbery eggs, way overcooked bacon and extremely pricy. Granola was ok, but nothing special. The hot chocolate was left untouched. Secondly, the towels we recieved on both days were in a very poor state - thin and freying at the edges. Not at all up to standard.
We encountered some lovely and exceedingly helpful staff (sorry I can’t recall the names) but overall there was an atmosphere of aloofness. The check out was perfunctory , no eye contact and no one bothered to ask how our stay was. We left feeling like we had imposed.

Hello SMScooter, Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we thank you for sharing your candid thoughts. We are glad to know that you enjoyed the sleek modernity of our property and our location here in SoHo. It's also good to know you encountered some very helpful and kind team members who tried to ensure our texting system could be added to your international phones. We're sorry that did not work as planned. We love that you enjoyed the tranquility of your room as well as our Le Labo products, though we wish your view had been more inspiring. We do have a guest-specific entrance to our rooftop, and we apologize if we did not make you aware of this option. We're glad you utilized our holiday sight list as well as our dining suggestions, and we look forward to ensuring your stay is flawless the next time you are in SoHo. Warm regards, Isael Sanchez O’Sullivan, Assistant Director of Front Office iosullivan@modernhaussoho.com

Beware!! They charged my account an extra $544 for a smoking fee and I am NOT a smoker/vaper. They never notified me or requested authorization, I only noticed when I was reviewing my CC statement. They have smoke sensors in the rooms and sent “verification” in the form of a graph/chart detecting smoke during a specific time. I’m not sure if the detectors are legit or if housekeeping decided to take a smoke break in my room. I‘m disputing this and attempting to get the charges reversed. Very scary that they tried to sneak this by without any notification.

Overpriced for the offering but a nice hotel if they had value for money. They closed the pool and roof decks for the season but kept the prices as high as during the peak season. They should not of closed the pool and outside decks when the temperature was well over 70 F. In room AC was very noisy and blows directly and intermittently on the bed (room 1202) so that it was not easy to sleep with AC on. One of two treadmills in the fitness center was broken. So overall just an average sort of hotel with high prices - thus the mismatch.

Hello TravellerPoland, Thank you for sharing your valued feedback with us. While we are glad you enjoyed some aspects of your stay with us, we share your disappointment that you did not feel the full value of your visit. We take your feedback to heart, and you are correct to expect a fully functioning fitness center and a comfortable room. As you noted, our rooftop pool is seasonal, but we hope you still joined us on our rooftop at Jimmy to take in the views, and that you discovered the many other tucked-away places to relax and unwind here at ModernHaus during the cooler seasons. We hope we can welcome you back one day to showcase our full value. Warm regards, Kori Yoran, General Manager kyoran@modernhaussoho.com

The room and facilities were lean. I worked from the bar/café on the 2nd floor, and the staff was very helpful on things to do and see. In total, all the staff was welcoming, and I appreciated that. The rooms were spotless, and the room stewards even brought me extra water and left kind notes. I highly recommend this place. I did have issues with my room TV but forgot to mention it to the front desk.

Where do I begin? The ModernHaus Soho property is over the top!! The service is truly flawless - everything happens so efficiently, and the staff is so kind and accommodating. For a fancy downtown hotel, they are also super accommodating to families with children - they even provided adorable robes for our kids. I also love how the rooms are fitted with two plush adult robes, a superrr luxurious bed set up with down feather everything (super important for a great nights sleep), le labo Santal products and a nespresso - not to mention VERY good black-out curtains for sleeping in. The room service/restaurant on property are also delicious, and there are a few different spots around the hotel to order food/drinks so you can change up your food and remote work environment. The rooftop pool and amazing scent of the hotel are the cherry on top!! 🍒 Shout out to Alize, Gisella, Allen, Jimmy and a bonus points to Kristy for making our stay extra special!! Thank you!

This is a young, hip hotel with its best feature being the wonderful art seen everywhere, including within rooms and in hallways. But there are serious issues. Our rate included breakfast and the breakfast venue was serviced by servers who did not know what the included breakfast was so we chose the wrong items all three mornings we were there. We would have had to pay out of pocket for these items but they were comped when I explained the situation to the desk clerk. On the third morning, no one (apparently) was scheduled to work so a lone, harassed woman had to hold down the fort while we waited and waited for breakfast. She was lovely, the situation was not. The room itself was fine, no temperature or noise issues but the mattress was a disaster. As an older person with back issues, it meant very poor sleep for the whole stay due to back pain. If you are sensitive to too-soft mattresses with poor support, I would stay away. Since it seems most of the clientele consists of the young and hip, perhaps this doesn't matter for most but I would approach this hotel cautiously if you are not in that demographic. A minor issue was that, while there was adequate closet space, there was no chest or other location for non-hanging clothes, meaning you have to live out of your suitcase. We did eat in the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed it but probably will not stay here again.

The staff were all extremely sweet and the room was divine!! Went for a night to celebrate my husbands birthday and do some activities in the area and was blown away!! The room was beautiful with breathtaking views of the city, everything was clean and it all felt very high end and luxurious. The shower has AMAZING water pressure, which is something that is very important to us. Caitlin was honestly a godsend from the minute we checked in to the moment we checked out. She was so helpful and patient with any questions I/we had. She was able to secure us a last minute brunch reservation before we left which was so accommodating and appreciated. While checking out we also met Gisella who was so sweet and offered us mimosas and luggage storage while we went to out brunch reservation. We loved the hotel stay and room so much we didn’t want to leave. We already live in NY but wanted a little getaway for the night to avoid driving back home late and it honestly exceeded all our expectations, we would love to revisit sometime!!
