Step inside the exquisitely carved wooden doors at Chambers. Expansive windows and posh rooms, designed by renowned architect David Rockwell, are top of the menu here. Stroll through Central Park or take in a show at Radio City Music Hall. You’re right in the heart of all Midtown Manhattan has to offer. If you get hungry, Felice serves coffee, pastries, and delicious Tuscan fare right downstairs. This property belongs to a collection of boutique hotels powered by Sonder. No two properties are alike, but all offer our mobile-first guest experience. Use the Sonder app to navigate your stay from start to finish. Check in. Request amenities. Connect to WiFi. Contact customer support. All via our small (but mighty) app. Whatever you need, we’ve got you covered. This Sonder has a front desk and our on-site team is available during business hours to ensure you have a better stay. The safe in each space is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Chambers Powered By Sonder has earned high marks for its exceptional service and helpful staff, with guests frequently commending the attentive and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel boasts a variety of convenient amenities, like keyless entry and self-service closets, contributing to the comfort of the stay. Nestled in a prime central location, it offers easy access to nearby attractions, much to the delight of both leisure and business visitors.
The modern and stylish rooms provide a serene retreat in the heart of bustling Midtown Manhattan. Detailed Reviews
Our room (#104) was a corner room on the 10th floor, and we were very pleased that it was available upon our arrival in NY. It had a safe, bottled still water, coffee and wine on the Mezzanine floor, a fantastic rain shower with a hard water flow. The toiletries were useable, i.e. they were "top shelf", and the slippers and robes were a nice touch. The room was very comfortable, and we will definitely consider staying here again on another visit to NY. And the restaurant/cafe "Felice" was excellent.

Hello Nitvoyodelo. We are pleased you both enjoyed room 104, a Corner King (one of our favorites), and that you have posted your pleasure to TripAdvisor. Red Flower is indeed top shelf and Felice is a marvelous spot for anytime in Midtown. Please do return again and again; we will be happy to have it all waiting fro you, as before. Yours kindly, Ansell Hawkins General Manager

We were very pleased with our first stay at a Sonder property! We thought the quality/value ratio was excellent. A spacious, clean, modern room.
Easy access to spare linens, toiletries and such, able to request servicing.
The Shower was great! One of those overhead large format fixtures that you can adjust to a full Niagra Falls level drenching with plenty of hot water.
Room windows are huge, and you can open them to take in the fantastic NYC full spectrum of fetid summer aromas, traffic noise, unintelligible shouting, and skyscraper rattling base emanating from mobile 10,000 watt subwoofers installed by car owners these days. (Actually it is very nice to have the option of a fresh breeze).
This location is also very convenient to midtown restaurants, 5th Avenue shopping, subway access, Central Park, and MOMA is three blocks away. Get your real Italian espresso fix at Zibetto’s on 6th! Ice cream heaven is five blocks south at Van Leeuwen’s, also on 6th.
Sonder Chambers Midtown will be our go to for reasonable rates, convenience, and quality from now own.
Oh - and the folks at the front desk from 9-9 are great as well! Shout out!

I stayed at the Sonder Chambers for 11 nights in November '21 on business. This is a fairly no frills hotel. Your room is not cleaned daily (unless you request it), you need to leave your trash and dirty towels outside the door to be collected and there is no phone to get in touch with reception, everything is done via the Sonder app.
However at the price I paid, i found it perfect for my purposes. The location is second to none in midtown, the bed was comfortable and my room was spacious (for a Queen in Manhattan!) and super quiet. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. As long as you can get past the fact that this is NOT a regular hotel with regular amenities, it is a great midtown option.
When i did have my room serviced it was cleaned to a high standard, water left in the fridge, clean sheets on the bed and the bathroom given a thorough clean.
It should also be noted there is no cable tv in the room, you need to cast your phone or your tablet to the tv. This could annoy the less tech savvy among us but it didn't bother me.
Given this hotel option is definitely a third of the price than other 4/5 star options in the area, I would not hesitate to stay again.

We loved our stay at the Sonder Chambers in NYC. The location suited us perfectly, right between 5th and 6th avenues, and a short walk to Central Park, Times Square, Broadway and the Subway which was we needed and wanted during our trip. All the staff we came into contact during our stay on the front desk were welcoming, polite and friendly. We also loved the fact that Sonder communicated extremely well with us before our trip and reminding us of our booking and providing us with our code to get into the hotel after hours and in and out of our room - loved the fact that we didn't need a room card. Our room was extremely spacious for NYC but we also had one of the 2 x double bed rooms. When we entered the room there was an area where we could sit and put on our shoes, and we then continued along a corridor, past the bathroom, to our double bed area. The room was very clean and well appointed. There was a room safe, ironing board, room for hanging and folding clothes, a suitcase stand, small fridge, coffee making amenities, armchair, desk and plenty of good quality toiletries. Also the room had good heating and cooling and it was the first hotel we've stayed at in a very long rime where our two french doors could open outside to let in some fresh air. We loved the fact that if we ran out of anything there were two small cupboards in the foyer of the hotel that we could access, free, for further toiletries etc. The beds, linen, and pillows were very comfortable and good quality, as well our room was quiet. WiFi connection was efficient and the lifts in the hotel were quick. We've stayed at the Hilton previously, situated two blocks away from the Sonder, but we will probably try and stay at the Sonder Chambers again on our next stay to NYC (we liked the fact that it was a smaller boutique style hotel over a big chain hotel). We also enjoyed that we were so close to many restaurants, and coffee shops. Loved being able to walk to 'Sip & Co" (2 blocks away), and grab coffee and bagels for our morning walk in Central Park and also having the grocery and food market "Bread & Butter" a couple of buildings away was super convenient during our stay as well for additional food, drinks etc to have up in our room. LOVED SONDER CHAMBERS it was exactly what we wanted during our stay in wonderful NYC!!

Check in was super easy and quick, you just verify your email, phone number, and ID through the app. If you need help or have any requests you can do so by using the Sonder app or asking the front desk. The rooms have refillable and recyclable water bottles. We enjoyed our stay!

We loved the location (central and quiet), room size, shower (the best) and value during spring break timeframe. This hotel is a not traditional in daily cleaning/towel service but we actually liked that our room was private (there is the option for additional fee).
The service and knowledgeable staff was amazing. While check-in could be contactless via app, the front desk was there to help or act as concierge service.
We did have issues with the TV - it was in ‘Store demo’ mode and kept showing the features of the TV no matter what we were watching. It was annoying but also took up a lot of screen. We couldn’t figure out how to turn that off. That’s it - very minor nit.

We love Sonder! It’s a great solution if you prefer a place to stay that is somewhere between a boutique hotel or an apartment. It was our first time staying at Chambers powered by Sonder, and our previous experience set our expectations high.
The location of Chambers powered by Sonder couldn't be better if you are looking to stay near Central Park. It's a short distance to many of the 5th Avenue shops and great restaurants. We booked a Superior King Suite with a terrace, an essential feature for the hours we planned to spend in the afternoons. The room was significantly more prominent compared to most New York hotel rooms. The nicely furnished room was comfortable and decorated in an on-trend, inviting style. There was a bedroom and a living room area, which was nice for hanging out. It also had one full and one-half bath, which was a pleasant surprise. The room also has a terrace that runs the entire suite length. Unfortunately, The terrace was unavailable during our stay, but it would be an incredible asset. The bed was comfortable, the towels were soft, and they had plentiful toiletries available. While they provide a Keurig-style coffee maker with pods and a mini fridge in the room, they should have had an electric tea kettle.
Where Sonder went wrong was that we booked this room many weeks in advance of our stay, yet we never received a call from them to let us know that the terrace was going to be under construction and unusable. It was the sole reason we booked the Superior King Suite with a terrace. We would have liked the opportunity to request a different room or offer another location in New York City rather than discover on our own when we arrived in the room that the terrace was unusable. To Sonder's credit, when we first brought the situation to their attention, we were upgraded to a much larger suite with a terrace for two nights. Still, it was a hassle to have to move rooms in the middle of our stay. Praise goes to the front desk agent, Brandon, who listened to my plea upon checking out. He empathized with our dissatisfaction and complaints and assured us we would be fairly compensated for the inability to use the terrace and all our trouble. Because of this excellent customer service, we will maintain our high impression of Sonder and continue to make them a solid choice in the future.

Boutique experience located near everything - shopping, Central Park, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Whitney Hotel, etc. Exceptionally clean room, personalized 6 digit code for room entry and any wants and needs addressed via a quick text. Refillable filtered water bottles were greatly appreciated along with the attention to environmental considerations - recycling! Some street noise (mainly cars), but this did not detract from our experience - we slept well in a very comfortable bed and enjoyed the natural light (and night light) from neighboring buildings) through “warehouse” style windows. Only recommendation, a basket for used towels in the bathroom would be a nice addition to the room.

My husband and I visited Manhattan for our ten year anniversary. Our plans were to eat our way through the weekend. We didn’t really expect anything crazy from a hotel located close to Times Square, central park, rockerfeller center, etc.
we’ve stayed in this area before and it was just ok.
When we walked into the lobby area, it was
absolutely beautiful. It’s classy, quiet, dark tones and a very good vibe. It was very clean, with the hotel staff checking each floor every hour for trash outside of doors.
We stayed in room 45 on the 4th floor which had a king bed. The room was much larger in size compared to what we’ve stayed in before at other locations.
The Mez level has a self serve essentials cabinet stocked with essentials like toilet paper, tissues, coffee pods, creamers, lotions, tooth brushes, etc.
The bedroom itself was perfect for us. The TV hooked up to steaming services as well as regular channels. The water pressure in the shower and tub was amazing and the bed had 6 pillows. The mattress was a bit firm for our liking and the sheets were really noisy. I’m a light sleeper so we turned the heat off at night because it was loud.
Check in and out was very simple- checking in we just went up to our room past checkin time. Checking out was a click of a button on the app.
My only complaint is that the Hamilton coffee maker
(using pods) malfunctioned 3 times. It’s incredibly frustrating when you roll out of bed, stick the pod into the pot, pour in water, only to have the grounds somehow ooze out of the pod, clog the hole, spill all over the desk, and cause a huge mess with only bleach white towels to clean up. I ended up using toilet paper to wipe everything so that the towels remain white. I had to take out the inserts and dump 3 half cups of coffee full of grounds down the sink. The first time was the worst but by the third time I was frustrated. This happened on two separate days.
Other than that, we loved our stay and will recommend it to anyone and will come back again.
Id love to add photos but trip advisor isn’t letting me.

We booked 8 nights via a travel agent. We did not know that you needed to download the Sonders app beforehand in order to check-in as the email notifying us was sent to the travel agent and went unanswered. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and check-in was easily accomplished within 10 minutes of arrival. We were also able to check-in a couple hours earlier than the allotted time.
You use the app for everything, including booking a cleaning and you can ask for help via it. Amenities were pretty much what you would expect in the room. There is free WiFi. You can Chromecast via the TV in the room. You can restock on items (bathroom, toiletries by way of a small cupboard in the lobby). There is a microwave and water cooler on the Mezzanine.
Good location in Midtown, close many subways and buses and a reasonable walk from Times Square and Central Park. The hotel offers access to a nearby gym.

Excellent questions. I'm struggling to find a "front desk" number as well. I don't want to talk with Sonder L; I want to talk with the hotel's front desk. And why are there no reviews since March 2020???
Hello Jennifer,
The hold is $100 per night and is to cover incidental expenses of minibar, etc.
You are welcome to leave cash instead.
