The Times Square EDITION hotel garners mixed reviews, with many guests lauding its prime location close to Broadway and Times Square attractions, while others criticize the noise on lower floors. The stylish and smart design of the rooms is frequently praised, although their small size and certain functional issues have not gone unnoticed. Service quality appears inconsistent, ranging from exceptional to disappointing. Cleanliness is a strong point, with most visitors enjoying spotless rooms. However, some feel the hotel is overpriced, particularly regarding food and amenities.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and overall happy with the experience. Location is good, walking distance to most of the attractions we wanted to visit, but I wouldnt stay here next time due to the noise factor from Times Square and construction.
Staff are generally very friendly and helpful (especially doormen & concierge), rooms are tastefully decorated and although small, generally functional. The bar and restaurant are very cool.

I'm not sure why, but I just expected more. I do a lot of traevl for business and stay at a lot of hotels, and I expected a wow factor from this property that didnt eventuate. Anyway, overall it was very good, but next time I'd probably try the mid town property to see if my expectations of this brand are realistic or not.

It was our first stay at an EDITION branded Marriott property and I loved this hotel! The times square EDITION is a beautiful and relaxing property in the middle of the chaos that is times square. As soon as you walk through the doors of the hotel, you feel a sense of calm as you breathe in that EDITION scent. And then even more calm as you get off the elevator into the lobby. The public spaces are all beautiful and each have a unique design. I loved the terrace restaurant for brunch, which was so unique for a times square restaurant. And 701 west's bar was very elegant and a great/romantic place to have a drink with your spouse!

Yes, the rooms are small, but how long do you plan to hang out in there......you are in NYC, get out there and explore! I really liked the room though, which has that lifestyle luxurious feel to it. The bathroom amenities had that same scent you smell throughout the hotel.

So, I definitely recommend this hotel if you don't mind staying in the times square area! It is something times square needed and it doesn't disappoint.

I stayed at this hotel back in August for a girl's birthday trip after our flight was canceled and this hotel was truly the definition of elegance and had the friendliest staff I have ever met. As soon as we got there, the bellman offered to store our luggage, opened the door for us, and even pressed the elevator button for us. When we went up to the beautiful front lobby, all of the agents smiled at us and invited us right up to check in. We explained to the agent that our flight was canceled, but we were grateful to stay an extra night at such an extravagant hotel. He gave us waters, got us into our room, and as soon as we walked in, we realized that he put us in a high floor room with a side view of Time Square!! The decor in the room, the bathroom amenities down to the softest robes I have ever worn, and the gorgeous layout was just so elegant. It was so nice!! The front desk agent also sent up a small bottle of wine with a card wishing my friend and me a happy birthday! It was such a great way to end our trip, especially after our flight frustration. We are already planning our second trip back to this hotel!!

Not my personal choice for location since I'd rather not be in Times Square. I am a former NYC resident so this is generally an area I avoid. Circumstances on this trip required that I be in the Time Square area. This place seemed nice and offered a "2 Bedroom" apartment. The room wasn't really a two-bedroom. Rather, it was just two separate hotel rooms that then had a third door you had to enter before you could enter either hotel room. Odd but fine. The rooms are nice and I particularly like the showers. These aren't that ridiculous but popular European style so common in hotels across NYC in which water goes all over the bathroom floor because only half the shower is covered. These showers have full coverage so kudos to the designer. Beds are comfortable and both rooms had good views into Time Square. The service is lackluster. One day our rooms weren't cleaned at all and when I arrived home at 6:00PM, I had to have call down for house keeping. When then left for dinner and when we arrived back all house keeping had done was sloppily throw the covers back on the bed and rearrange a few things. For multiple days, staff kept leaving garbage/dirty glassware/2 day old room service. Even once I would call down, they would still come up and leave the room unfinished...still leaving dirty glassware or not replacing used items, such as shampoo. On another occasion, staff left a cleaning rack of some sort in the room and in the other room left dirty black cleaning gloves. I've attached pictures of what the room would look like once staff was called to come clean the rooms again...

Drinks at the bar were excellent, though the food we tried was terrible. The chicken bites at the bar had so much inedible gristle in them, we didn't eat very many...After those, we went elsewhere for food.

There seem to be 2 separate hotel experiences here. If you book a suite or get upgraded to a suite it sounds like you will have a great experience.

The check in process wasn't bad. You basically enter on the street in a dark nothing room and are taken via elevator to a swanky Miami feel check in desk. It was incredibly crowded with people everywhere. Just sitting around. It was after normal check in but felt like a hotel where everyone was waiting for their rooms. I found out later the rooms are so ridiculously small people just hang out in the lobby.

I was told at check in that all of the suites had already been sold. In fact you could purchase one online. I am Ambassador with Marriott but was told they would not upgrade me for the 1 night. I found out later they had already upgraded "their allotment" and they would rather a room be vacant than upgrade me. It was infuriating.

I figured that the room however would be nice as I was given a "Time Square View" and this was an Edition Luxury hotel at a pretty hefty price. I was insanely wrong. The room was hysterically small even for NYC. There was no bathroom, there was a tiny glass box with a toilet and one with a shower. A sink was in front of those two rooms with a curtain around it. The closets were insanely tiny. I am a small guy but you still had to kind of scoot around the room. This room was designed for only 1 person. The view as nice.... BUT the noise was unbearable. Horns, sirens, people screaming all night long.

When I went to the lobby to have a drink it was over-run with people trying to get out of their rooms like me. I was told of the great outdoor space at the restaurant lounge area yet that was closed off with the blinds pulled tight. I was told it was because of falling ice.

The only saving grace of the property is the proximity to the theater district and Time Square entertainment.

I would never stay here again.

i was excited about staying at the hotel as it is relatively new. It is a really nice hotel. On level 1, there were always door men holding the door for guests, which was nice. The lobby and lounge area were beautiful as were other dining and bar options. The room, while small, was very nice and comfortable.

The reason for the lower rating is because I got sick from eating the pork belly at the bar (one level below the lobby). My tummy did not react well to it and i started getting sick about 4-5 hours after eating it and that night was painful. I let the duty manager next day know, who was very nice and professional about it. The only other time my tummy has reacted so violently to food was once in India.

The location at Times Square can be a positive or negative based on your perspective. Factor in some extra time when leaving for the airport as the street is one-way (west bound) leading into Times Square and so you to get through that mess before you can start heading away from it.

This place certainly represents what the EDITION brand is. The entrance is in busy Times Square but as soon as you walk in you feel relaxed with the Le labo scent and minimalistic decor. The service here is top notch and very personable and it all starts with the upper management. Riley (front office manager) is a class act and you can tell he leads his team by example, I’ve seen him at the reception desk, front doorway in the cold or just waking around the lobby greeting guests! Jeffrey and Beck( lobby bar managers) are the same leading by example whether it’s bartending serving or interacting with guests. Some more people who stood out to me are John from concierge with very quick but personable service. Joel from the restaurant who is a true profesional at his job whether it’s connecting with his guests or knowing the menu like the back of his hand! The restaurant terrace and gardens is amazing also. I went there for my birthday dinner and breakfast twice and wish I could’ve went a couple more times if my trip was longer. I highly recommend the crème brûlée French toast with the blueberry jam on the side! Joey and Jerome from the bell team are amazing and remember me every time I stepped back in the hotel and greeted me by name and asked how my time in New York has been going. Bryan from reception was very efficient at his job while checking in a line of people but still delivery personable service. Overall this is the place to be in Times Square for good service and great pictures!

This was my first trip back to NYC since COVID and this hotel provided the warmest welcome! I flew solo into town on a whim to see Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett at Radio City. I had two main criteria when I was booking my hotel: that I could easily (and safely!) walk to Radio City and that there was at least one in-house source of food. It's crazy how many hotels in the city still haven't reopened their restaurants and I wanted to be able to get a meal without leaving my hotel if I had to.

When I discovered the Edition, I was immediately drawn to the photos I saw of The Terrace bar/restaurant. It was stunning! It was just as beautiful in person, and I really enjoyed the dinner and drinks I had there! The service was great and everyone was very attentive. I also had drinks in the lobby bar a couple of times and enjoyed that space as well. There is an outdoor option for drinks and food at the Terrace as well as a small outdoor space for drinks off of the lobby bar. Especially from a COVID perspective, it was great to have the option to enjoy a meal or a beverage outside.

The rooms are very small, but as a solo traveler, I didn't mind! They are very comfortable and welcoming. I loved the artfully draped throw blanket- it makes it seem so cozy! The rooms are designed to maximize the space you do have and the storage solutions in the room are creative and get the job done.

The location of the hotel can't be beaten! I booked a high floor superior room with a view of Times Square and ended up on the 30th floor. It was very quiet up there and I could also see out to the Hudson River, which was lovely! It was a quick walk to Radio City and I felt very safe, which was so important as a solo female traveler!

I got room service breakfast the morning I was flying home and it was insanely good. I STILL think about the pancake I had, that's how delicious it was!

This hotel is a gem and I can't wait to return! I'm actually heading back in a couple of months and bringing my daughter along for a fun mother/daughter trip. I looked at a few other hotels with slightly bigger rooms for that trip, but I quickly came to realize that the location, convenience, and service of this one are unparalleled anywhere in the city.

This is such a great location in Times Square/Theatre district (right beside Hershey's World, if you know the area), and the staff are outstanding - very professional, friendly and accommodating. Definitely one of my top hotel stays in NYC and I'm there 4 or 5 times a year.

I was traveling with my son so we needed a room with 2 beds, which I think are the smallest of the rooms they have, but it was absolutely fine for the 2 nights we stayed. We were in the city to see a couple of shows and to do some shopping, and we easily accommodated our shopping bags in the room along with our 2 large suitcases and backpacks with room to spare. I also really appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms.

We enjoyed room service for breakfast and dinner and it was excellent, and I believe it's offered 24/7. There is also a Nespresso maker in the room which was awesome - I'm up at 5am daily to work for a few hours and really enjoyed the convenience of a hot coffee first thing.

I sincerely appreciated how helpful the staff were - I had a few requests and packages delivered and they were prompt and helpful in meeting each request I had. I will definitely be back.

I am a Marriott Platinum member and stayed at the hotel in November. The room was extremely small, with no storage space for luggage. Probably the basic room size at this hotel, an upgrade to a larger room (not sure they have any) which should come with my status would have been nice. The lack of storage was about manageable for me as a single traveller, but for a couple with lots of luggage a real issue. Didn’t like the open bathroom design or lack of bathtub. The strong points of the hotel are the common areas, restaurants and bars, which are really nicely designed and trendy. Gym was also nice. However, the service at breakfast and lunch was a disaster, very slow, items described in the menu were not brought (juice, cheese), and when I asked for them, staff expressed surprise that I would insist on getting a complete order. I won’t be back.
