The carvi is such a great hotel. Friendly staff. Immaculately clean and had luxury amenities like quality robes and double shower heads. Very quiet. Didn't hear a peep all night, so great sleeping conditions. I had a problem with my thermostat and Marcos at the front desk was very helpful and fixed it right away. I also noticed the systems air filter when being checked, which looks like it was recently changed and very clean. This means alot to someone with allergies and sensitivities. So thank you for a wonderdul stay Carvi! Can't wait to return.

I have stayed at several 4*-5* hotels in NYC and none have been as clean as this little 3* gem. I was so pleased to find the room and bathroom immaculate. The carpet looked brand new, the bathroom had not one indication of dirt or mold (which is typical in NYC hotels). The bed and room temp was comfortable. The only complaint is that the TV was super slow to load channels, which was frustrating. However, I was told that they were in the process of changing out the TV's. The rooms are small but honestly, when in NYC how often are you in your room? It felt like a dorm room but I was ok with that. Contrary to what others said, I found the front desk lady very pleasant and warm. I booked the Jr Queen room which does not have a window. The front desk lady upgraded me to a room with a window, without me asking, because I was staying 3 days. I truly appreciated that. I would absolutely stay here again!

Dear Guest! We are so pleased that you had enjoyed your say in our Carvi Hotel. As you have mentioned, we are a small boutique Hotel...but in NYC you don't stay that much in the rooms...that's true. We try to accommodate all guest the best we can and for sure cleanliness is our priority. Now that you have the opportunity to know us...comeback anytime :). Thanks again!

Step foot through the glass doors of the Carvi Hotel onto marble-tiled floors and you are greeted by a friendly maitre d' ready to make you feel right at home. This boutique sized hotel delivers on comfort, convenient location, and amenities. Very comfortable queen bed, crisp, clean linens, and updated decor. 7th floor terrace offers guests a retreat from the bustling street below. I would recommend this pretty, smart hotel for a business or leisure trip.

When budgeting as a young adult, cash and debit’s a balance single travelers without a shoulder to lean on rely heavily upon to make their trip smooth, especially during a pandemic.

The front desk does not take cash, U.S. currency. Paid in full for a room to arrive and be blindsided by a hurdle that is a “hidden fee.” When asked to be accommodated, the
Unfortunance of hiding behind lie after lie dwindles the integrity of a promising establishment.

Dear Guest! We do appreciate that you have your time to provide your review. Each Hotel might have different policies and they vary from one to another. Carvi Hotel does not accept any cash as method of payment, we always recommend a credit card instead debit card. A USD100 damage deposit is required on arrival. This deposit will be fully refunded at check-out, as long as there isn't any damage to the property. When a debit card is used...during check out we do release at the same time the approval, however its up to the Issuing Bank to release that approval and that we do not have any control. Sometimes it takes 7 to 10 business days...but it all depends on the Bank. We do appreciate your understanding. Thank you very much!

I only needed a hotel within the vicinity of the spa I attended earlier in the day with my boyfriend. I chose this hotel because the rooms looked decent on the website and they charged less tax compared to other hotels. The room was a decent size for 2 people. I definitely appreciated the mini fridge. The shower is big enough only for one person. I didn't like that the bathroom did not have a vent fan. If you need a quick overnight stay in the city and on a budget, this is a good hotel to select. The room was clean as well.

The lobby and rooms were clean and had modern styling. The bathroom has marginally adequate counter space, and the shower stall was about two-thirds the width of what I am accustomed to. The beds were comfortable. The room had a small desk, sufficient for remote work. Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed on arrival that the lobby was so small. There's room for about four persons to sit, which is adequate if you're waiting for someone. The seventh-floor terrace closes at 10 p.m., so we mostly used it in the morning. A shade structure would be greatly appreciated because the morning sun shines directly on the terrace. The location is excellent, as mid-block 55th Street is quiet at night but puts you within quick walking distance of four subway stations (63rd & Lexington, 59th & Lexington, 53rd & Lexington, and 51st & Lexington) serving several lines (Q, F, N, R, W, 4, 5, 6, E, M). The staff was very polite and helpful.

Stayed in a room with 2 beds for one night while in the city for a wedding. Check in is at 3:00pm, but we arrived early at 11:00am since the wedding we were here for was at 2:00pm. We were able to drop our car in the garage and the friendly desk staff offered to take our luggage. We checked in after the festivities late around midnight. Check out was at 11:00am. Hotel is clean and basic - we slept comfortably, showered, and chugged the bottled water available. No surprise charges - we were quoted $200 for the night (covid prices I'm sure) and it ended up being $230 after taxes, bottled water, and parking. Perfect for a quick stay.

I had an experience similar to the most recent reviewer, however I unfortunately booked directly through the hotel. I booked a room at this hotel in November of 2020 for a stay in August of 2021. I never received any other email reminding me of my upcoming stay, as is typically the practice, until 3:21AM two days before the stay. Having forgotten about the reservation, I went to cancel and was not able to. When I called the hotel, I was told I was outside the reservation window of 72 hours. I find it deceptive that I only received a reminder about the stay AFTER the cancellation window had ended. Additionally, the hotel manager named Greg Kopchak was extremely rude to me over the phone (as it appears his custom based on other reviews) and when I sent an email to the hotel, I never received a response back. I also booked a Garden Room which I'm sure they do not even have available based on the previous review. Clearly the hotel must not be doing well to have squeeze customers and engaged in such deceptive practices. If staying in NYC, I would look elsewhere and avoid being taken advantage of.

We arrived on the Monday and Checked out on Friday. Its a small boutique hotel which is central to absolutely everywhere. We needed somewhere clean where we could rest and shower which is what we got. All mini bar snacks and drinks were included in the price which was a nice touch. The air con is loud and disruptive during the night but was managble. Maids come every other day but can ask for fresh towels anytime. Mara and Flavia at reception were absolutley amazing, both so friendly in the morning and all day. Sorted cabs for us and gave us food suggestions and location of shops etc too. Both smiley and happy 😊. I spend 4 nights at this hotel with my partner and although rooms are small and dated but it is the city and we fully expected that. Thank you ❤️

This was our fourth visit to New York and we’ve stayed in a variety of locations, all very good and the Carvi or should I say The Blu Angel is no exception. Upon our arrival late Monday the 19th of September were given a warm welcome by the ever so lovely and extremely helpful Mara.

There is a snacks fridge in your room, in the lobby of the hotel you can help yourself to as many coffees as your body will allow.

The room was neat and very tidy, the air con was excellent and the location of the hotel was pretty central to what we wanted.

Enjoy your stay and don’t forget, if you need assistance, Mara is an utter joy to deal with.
