The Wallace is a fabulous spot to stay, I loved it's convenient location to many fun spots to grab a bite to eat. The neighborhood isn't touristy (more residential), giving a visitor more of an authentic experience of what living in the City is like. The room is perfection. Fresh, clean, and so many nice (automatic) touches. Staff was sincere and professional. Quiet, comfortable....we will definitely be back to stay again.

The hotel was everything we'd hoped for. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean room, all at a very reasonable price. Oh, and the rooms were extremely quiet -- absolutely no street noise at all.

Fantastic in every way. Amazing rooms that are high tech. Great location. Easy access to subway. Friendly staff We came for Columbia graduation. This is now the only hotel we’ll stay at when visiting Manhattan.

Among the 50 or so NYC hotels I've stayed in over the decades, this newcomer easily ranks among the most satisfying I've experienced, from the genuinely friendly reception desk to the cool room decor (and very welcome tea kettle). Although I was looking for a spot within walking distance of Lincoln Center when I settled on The Wallace, I'd happily make this a base no matter what my plans were in the city. (I'm suspicious of any effusive review, so let me add one quibble: Hallway noise carried into the room to a sometimes startling degree. But I've encountered that in many a first-rate hotel. Besides, more important to me, room-to-room noise, even in the bathroom, was almost non-existent -- one more plus.)

We used to always stay at the Excelsior, but now that it is closed had to find a new landing pad. The Wallace feels like it is still being beta-tested, so if you need a luxurious ground floor with a bustling social scene, this is not your spot. It could have coffee set up, or complimentary wine at 5 sort of thing, but clearly filling its vast lobby during COVID is not a priority. Our room was really fantastic (large, lots of windows w views! that opened and let in fresh air, clean), with the small exception that there was no full-length mirror or magnifying mirror--two essentials for a woman of a certain age to get out the door looking her best. The mirror over the sink in the bathroom was not well-lit for make-up application or checking colors, and it was too small. Also made it hard to convince my husband that his bright blue running shoes clashed with everything he was wearing. We will definitely return.

Dear Ann Thank you for the positive and constructive review. I do want to assure you there is a full length mirror on the inside of every closet door. The bathrooms are quite brightly lit and usually well received particularly by our female guests. I am so sorry this was not your experience. Bright blue running shoes go with everything 😊 We very much look forward to welcoming you back.
