The Fitzpatrick Manhattan hotel stands out for its prime location in NYC, a draw for many travelers seeking convenient access to the city's attractions. Guests have called out the spaciousness and comfort of the rooms, despite some outdated elements. The staff's friendly and attentive nature is frequently praised, though a few guests have encountered service inconsistencies. While the hotel's cleanliness earns rave reviews, some travelers are taken aback by unexpected resort fees and a lack of certain amenities, such as in-room coffee replenishment.

I came to town on short notice to help our kids out with an unexpected premie and the Fitzpatrick was able to accommodate me on the turn of a dime with a lovely room at a reasonable price for their neighborhood. They switched out the down comforter and pillows to hypoallergenic ones, folded a towel to put under my personal toiletries, put a microwave in the room and were extremely attentive. My only concern was that NYC was cold and I didn't know that the hotel switched to A/C May 1st. Had I called the front desk right away they would have sent up a space heater. The reception desk staff were very friendly and happy to take the time to engage in conversation with me. All in all, a wonderful experience and I look forward to staying at the Fitzpatrick again.

Just 2 minutes walk from the 59th Street subway station, this hotel is in a great location for anybody and everybody, wherever you might wish to go or do in NYC. We stayed here last month in a suite with bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and a little kitchen annex. The hotel is comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. The restaurant on the ground floor, adjacent to the lobby, serves delicious food which I thoroughly recommend. The staff are all very friendly and cheerfully informal, which serves to create a nice “at home” kind of feeling. The Palace Diner, less than 100 metres away around the corner on 57th Street is perfect for breakfast. In the opposite direction on 57th Street, you’ll find The Juan Valdez cafe with delicious coffees and pastries of all kinds. Having experienced several other hotels in NYC over the years (all of which were very nice), I have to say that Fitzpatricks on Lexington Avenue is magnificent and we will be returning.

A group of us stayed here for the Katie Taylor Fight in early May and I would like to say a big thank you to the grils at reception as they really helped with any querstions we had and offered to book taxis and restrurants in a kindly manner.

The hotel managerment very kindly arranged for us to be picked up at the airport by taxi and the driver called Jesus was professional, polite and very informative of any recent New York events. His car was spotless, cool and filled with water and chargers for our phones.

The lobbby is small and so are the bedrooms, but everywhere is spotless and all the staff are very freindly. Food was tastly and the barstaff, especially the new manager, who had recently joined the hotel, very helpful with taking orders from our group of chatting Irish.

I would recommmend this hotel to anyone and would consider staying here again when next visiting NewYork.
Regards Lisa Delany

We stayed here in December, a first visit for my children to New York so excitement and expectations were high which the city didn’t disappoint, the hotel though, well that’s a different story. On arrival we were greeted by two ladies at reception, we had a lot of luggage but no attempt was made to assist or organise assistance for us and a nod of one of their heads showed us the direction of where the elevator was. Our room was on the 11th floor, we booked a suite with pull out sofa bed. The room was clean (there two were old burnt iron marks on the carpet) but small and very dated. The bathroom was tiny (as other reviewers have commented on) and toiletries for four people were non existent and not replenished during our stay, there were very few sockets in the room we had to unplug the phone to use the socket. The sofa bed wasn’t made up, we were told there was no turn down service but they hadn’t even made up the bed and when housekeeping did (who were excellent by the way) it was only a sheet and a blanket no pillows or duvet until we asked. This is a four star hotel the location is excellent, but they need to up their game. We got lost one day a dropped into a Marriott hotel to ask them to call us a cab to get back to the hotel which they did immediately, back at the hotel we asked reception to call us a cab that evening and they replied that they would need two hours notice!! We ate only once in the restaurant- never again, the food was processed and appalling bad. I would be mortified if I was the restaurant manager in 2021 serving this menu. We’ll return to New York but not to this hotel which is really disappointing as it has a great reputation in Ireland and we were so looking forward to the experience of staying here. There are better hotels in the area, don’t get fooled like we did and buy into the hype of staying here.

My reservation was just for one night and I was glad. The room was small but clean, pleasantly decorated and had a very nice shower stall and premium bath toiletries. But I was disappointed given the rave reviews.

The room had no natural light, as it faced two exterior walls of the hotel. There was no lamp to provide light over the desk. The bath had no hook or rack for hanging used towels. Other hotels in this "class" often provide a complimentary bottle of water, which I would have appreciated given the 90+ degree weather. And the staff was polite but not noticeably "friendly".

The location was convenient to two Lexington Ave. subway stops and some nice coffee shops. But I would only stay there again if other Midtown hotels were booked.

Stayed here from Christmas Eve til Boxing Day with two kids in a suite and have nothing but praise for the hotel.

The staff were so lovely and in particular the Irish staff with little gestures like bringing us over a box of Roses chocolates on Christmas night when we stopped into the bar for a drink and providing lovely snacks when the normal menu wasn’t on offer due to it being Christmas Day. They were heated potato chips and they alone are worth staying for.

Our suite was lovely and well worth paying a bit extra for. The location was fabulous, I got to run in Central Park every morning and we saw most of the sights on foot.

Well done Fitzpatricks, your reputation is very well deserved.

Thank you so much for your very kind review. I am delighted that you and your family enjoyed spending the holidays with us. We think Christmas is very special, and we do try to find ways to make it so for those who spend it with us. I am glad that you noticed. I also agree with you on the suite - it provides twice as much space as a guestroom, and is a great value for "a bit extra". I hope that you were very comfortable in yours. Please accept my best wishes for you and your family in the New Year. Best regards, George

We stayed in the Fitzpatrick Manhattan in February and it was everything I thought it would be and more. Fantastic, super friendly, professional and very welcoming staff throughout the hotel. We were upgraded to room 801 (a suite) and it was beautiful, very comfy beds, nice lounge area and a great bathroom. There was the added bonus of Barrys tea in the kitchenette, a great touch !!
The bar was lovely, very cosy, a great bar food menu and the food was really good. Drinks were on the expensive side but nevertheless its great place to chat with other guests in the evening.

Fitzpatricks is in a fantastic location, walking distance to all the midtown attractions and 2 subway stations less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

Thank you Team Fitzpatrick for making our first visit and an important milestone birthday very special, we will be back.

5 night stay for a family birthday and reunion.
On arrival there was a little mix up with the booking which manager Chris & staff worked quickly to resolve to our satisfaction.
The suite had oodles of space , the bed was massive and very comfy. Have in your mindset this is an older hotel , with old fashioned lifts ,decor and doors.
March weather was very cold and the old, drafty windows made the rooms a little cold when the curtains were pulled open, but there’s easily operated heating in the bedrooms which you just turn on to heat the room quickly. There’s lots of space to hang up clothes. The shower was over bath and adequate. The cleaning service was very efficient with the room cleaned every morning. Complimentary bottled water, tea & coffee making facilities in room.
Food at both the bar and restaurant is very tasty, especially the Irish breakfast. You can get a sense of the real will from the management and staff to get back to normal after the awful pandemic closure. All the Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is excellent. All in all a fantastic stay in a wonderful city!

We stay here regularly because the hotel is fairly priced; , check-in, check-out is easy; it is easy to get a taxi and rooms are comfortable and clean. Our two-room suite was large and reasonably priced. The beds were comfortable. The front desk was very helpful. The restaurant breakfast options were more reasonably priced than at many New York hotels. Staff was quick to help us when we needed help.,

The Fitzgerald Manhattan was recommended to us by someone who does a lot of traveling and it was an excellent recommendation. It was a hotel in the heart of the city, but it had a very personal feeling, more like a bed and breakfast. We had a suite which allowed my wife and I to have separate work spaces during our stay. Merima, who checked us in was particularly helpful and friendly and really created that personal feeling we felt while we were there. Highly recommended!

The taxes work out @ about 15% of room price. So always budget for it so it is not a surprise when it comes to paying....cheers
