I stayed at Luma over the New Years Eve weekend and it was a fabulous stay. I wouldn’t change one thing. Our flight landed really early in the morning at 6 AM and the hotel was able to accommodate an earlier check-in for us. We stayed in the Luma suite and the room was fantastic. It had the best view of the ball dropping. The room itself was great and the bed was super comfortable. The best thing about this day was the service from all of the employees from the person opening the door to housekeeping. Everyone was so nice and always said hello and greeted with a smile. I’m a travel agent, and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in the hustle and bustle of Times Square. The hotel is not over crowded and in a really great location. Anything you could want is nearby. Thanks Luma!

I highly recommend the Luma. The location cannot be beat - right off of Times Square and close to every subway line so you can get anywhere. The staff are well-trained and provide exceptional service. The rooms are clean and comfortable and feature the small extras that make a big difference - a nice hair dryer rather than a cheap on, make up mirror, etc. Pricing is very good. There are certainly less expensive hotels but not at this level of service and luxury.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Very conveniently located right in between Time Square and Bryant Park. Very close to several subway entrances. Lots of food options close by but you have to try the sangria and tapas at Ortzi, the restaurant on the first floor. The croquetas de jamon and papas asturianas are amazing.
We stayed on one of the Urban rooms, it's an interior view but it was very quiet, perfect to relax after a long day. The rooms are modern, very comfortable and if you need anything they will be happy to bring it. They really take care of every detail. All the staff at the hotel were friendly, respectful and helpful.
Tips: You will need the key to access the elevator. There is a sheer and a shade on the windows, the controls are by the air conditioner thermostat. Also, you can press a button when you want your room to be clean(we like our beds done after siestas). One of the beds have a compartment with the hair dryer, steamer for clothes, makeup mirror and a sounds machine(super nice one). Use the Nesspresso! Amazing coffee.
The bathroom was spacious and the shower was perfect! Everything was kept very neat.
We didn't have a change to see the robot in action but I heard its fun.

We are extremely happy with our stay at The Luma. From first making a reservation and speaking with Bryant and Abrahm I was greeted with courtesy, assurance that our stay would be a fantastic one for my son‘s 16th birthday. I had several other reservations I had made and I canceled them after speaking with these two gentlemen. Upon arriving we were greeted with a warm welcome your front desk employees were so kind and welcoming. Akeem was our bell captain and he was fun and entertaining as well as informative. Our room did not disappoint the size of the room is amazing for New York, The view was just as promised we could see the ball from our window. We stayed on the highest floor and it was breathtaking! The bed was comfortable the sofa bed was comfortable the shower was amazing. The room was very modern with all the amenities you could ask for. We stayed in the Luma king suite which I highly recommend. The maid service was incredible, coming home after a long day of walking all over New York City and having had turn down service without asking was so comforting, not to mention the delicious treats on our pillow. And of course having your lovely robot To deliver amenities to our room was a highlight for my kids. Your staff from the restaurant manager Arlene who was very kind and made sure our Breakfast was perfect everyday. We purchased the continental breakfast which was very generous amount of food which was delicious! The bartenders were very attentive and courteous and attentive. Raphael the manager Was a great help at night to make sure we were able to get a late night dessert. Abrahm our concierge went above and beyond to stay even after his shift To help give me ideas for restaurants shows and where to go in the city, he was great with correspondence and answered every question in detail that I had I can’t say enough about how kind and attentive he was. The Managers, Bryant, Tatiana, Everton, Raphael and Arlene were amazing and happy to help make our stay very memorable. All of the staff at The Luma were outstanding!! I definitely will highly recommend to all my friends! Another great thing about this hotel is that it’s walking distance totime square and the beauty of this lovely boutique hotel is that you don’t have a crazy noise and tons of people right outside of your hotel so you can sleep peacefully at night and when you come out you can easily catch a cab or an Uber. Bryant Park is across the street which offers ice-skating and other wonderful vendors and you have a Whole Foods right on the corner and a coffee shop on another corner. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel and how special they made us feel for our first time in New York. My son will never forget this trip.

Room was not too big nor too small, but just right for our family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids (ages 14 and 10). Stayed there for ~10 days in mid-June 2022. The dual king beds were AWESOME! Hotel and rooms/bathrooms were clean. Hotel staff was exceptional in providing additional linens and pillows as requested, not to mention super-fast delivery of anything we needed when called down to the front desk (like more Nespresso pods, creamer, sugar/splenda, etc). We even needed to call one time to get the toliet unplugged (how embarrassing!) because my youngest put too much toliet paper in, but they came within minutes to take care of it for us! We really liked the European style continental breakfast (was included with our room rate) which started each day off with plenty of energy to explore the city. The hotel staff at front desk/door, and especially are appreciative to Jonathan who helped us checkin/out with bags as well as asked him for a few recommendations while we were there. Room had no view, but that was great for us as the room was very quiet (no street noise) and we all slept wonderfully each night. Location was superb, with Bryant Park right down the street, multiple subway lines entrances within 1 to 1 1/2 blocks, and of course Times Square right down the street as well. Would definitely stay here again if/when we visit NYC in the future.

Never been to New York before but did abit of research and found this little gem.
As we wanted a family room 3 of us traveling they have rooms with 2 very big beds in which were great.
Couldnt fault the staff from when we got there to the minute we left everyone had their job to do and they did it very well.
you get a free drink in the bar when you arrive or we had ours later. We did find that drinking in New York was very expensive so we tended to hang out at the hotel around happy hour to have a few before we went out for food.
If we go back there we would stay at the Luma again it is perfectly placed just 2 mins walk from the main Times Square areas and very reasonably priced .

DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL!!! Me & my partner we’re given a room with a room that smelt horribly like ‘poo’ & when we complained were told we could change rooms. You pay extra for breakfast just to get a drink, fruit & a croissant, I mean what kind of breakfast is that, that could not even fill me up half way let alone for me to survive on that for even an hour. The staff do not care about the room they put you in & are not helpful at all as they just sit in the reception on their computer and do not pay attention to customers that come into their hotel. I left the hotel to run to the shops quickly when I was told when I come back in that they would immediately open the door for me, staff were so focused on their computers, phones and chin wagging that I stood outside for nearly 10 minutes as they were not aware that I was standing there even after constantly tapping on the window and waving at them to try and draw attention to myself which did not work. I would not visit this hotel again at all nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone or even my worst enemy. Management need to change their staff, also forgetting to mention that they are rude. It is beyond me how this hotel had nearly 5 stars for their poor and atrocious service, employees need to be trained on good customer service. I would give no stars if I could but unfortunately I’m required to do at least one

I had a fantastic stay with my family at the Luma Hotel. The staff were exceptionally courteous, and we appreciated all the small details like the handwritten note from the reception desk and the delivery (by robot!) of a toy for my 3-year-old son. The room was very clean and modern with comfortable beds. We did not have any view of the city from our room, but we also paid less than $200 to stay one minute, on foot, from Times Square, so we were not complaining. The Luma was the last stop on a long road trip during which we stayed at many hotels along the east coast, and this was by far the best hotel we stayed at while also being a great value.

Just finished spending 3 nights at this hotel. I cannot day enough nice things about it. First, the room size is really good for New York!!! I have stayed in rooms in the city and didn’t have enough room to put my suitcase down. Second, the location. You are steps away from all midtown attractions, and if you need to get to another part of town, the subway is basically across the street. Lastly, truly the best part of this hotel is the service. Everyone we encountered was so nice. From the doormen to the cleaning staff, every single person smiled, said hi, and made us feel welcome. A special thank you to Andrew, Jonathan, the Night Doorman who all remembered our names and welcomed us back each day. Also, Brycie the bartender at the little bar downstairs was a gem. I would happily return to this hotel anytime I am in New York.

Perfect location and the king/king room was wonderful. We picked the Park Plaza View room. The room is nicely appointed and despite having two king beds was spacious and comfortable for 3 adults. Storage under the bed, a closet and other drawers allowed for us to unpack completely for our week stay.

The room has many unexpected features. The blinds, lights and room privacy are all managed by switches on the wall. The bathroom has a huge beautiful shower and the sink and vanity area offered plenty of storage options.

A nice touch were the 3 hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels and then the wall of hooks in the room for hanging purses or bags. These small touches were a plus.

Staff, especially Jonathan, were always welcoming and attentive.

A fun surprise is their robot, Alina, who delivers items to your room.

As far as location, this is just about perfect. Steps from beautiful Bryant Park, the heart of Time Square is a block away, Whole Foods is across the street and subway access is a block away.

Upgrades are always based on availability. You can upgrade as long as a suite is available. It will most likely be an upcharge, but I have heard of people being upgraded for free if there is an available room, especially if they have some other benefit (loyalty program, AARP, military, etc).
