50 Bowery is a boutique hotel that captures the energy of NYC, inspired by the cultural crossroads of our location on Manhattan's oldest street, where diverse cultures have come together for centuries. With this hotel's convenient location on Bowery near Canal Street and the Manhattan Bridge, getting anywhere in NYC will be a breeze. We celebrate the joy of life, where General Washington communed with his men at the Bull's Head Tavern, where actors once took the stage at the vibrant New York Theater, and where new Americans from Europe and Asia brought their optimism and ambition. Our green key certified hotel is crowned with a rooftop terrace lounge overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Where diverse cultures have come together for centuries. A springboard to some of New York City's most vibrant neighborhoods, from here in the heart of Chinatown to the Lower East Side, Tribeca, Soho, Little Italy, Financial District and Brooklyn.

The location in Chinatown is hard to beat especially if you want to spend most of your time just exploring all the local eateries within Chinatown/ lower east side/east village. Close to subway and all of Manhattan. We have returned multiple times and consider it our home in NYC whenever we visit due to the location, quality of rooms, the amazing rain shower/bathroom, the nice robes. There's plenty of places to eat and drink nearby so their bar and restaurant isn't worth it. We also don't really use the gym when you can just get your steps in by walking everywhere. Service is so personal and attentive. If you arrive early or leave late, they do their best to accommodate you. They gave me a room at 10am when check in is usually at 4pm. And bellhop suggested ordering a flat fare taxi during surge pricing which saved me some money.

The location is unmatched - we were able to walk to the majority of places we wanted to go including soho, west village, and even from across the Brooklyn bridge. The beds were very comfy and the Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch. We were on floor 12 and it was quiet - we couldn’t hear street traffic or roof noise. The beds were very comfortable and they had water refill stations on the even floors only. The rooftop bar has great views and good service but the food and drinks left a lot to be desired.
Cons - not a smart tv, we couldn’t cast/stream.
There was not a full length mirror in the room.
The mirror in the bed area was basically useless as the lighting around the area was terrible and they applied a decorative speckled film over the glass that made it impossible to put makeup on using the mirror.
We did not utilize the floor 2 living room area at all or the breakfast.
Front desk and staff were very polite and service was good.
The room was big enough for 3 people which is also hard to find in the city.
Overall, I might return, but there are so many hotel options in this area at a similar price range and I wasn’t blown away. It was adequate and the location was the best thing.

customer service was perfect, everyone was very friendly and helpful. the room was beyond our expectations, we paid some extra bucks for a city-view room and it was worth it. the room was also very spacious and clean, the bed sheets smelled so nice. location was also 100/10, it is close to all the good eats in Chinatown. we also really like the common space on the 2nd floor (very quiet, clean, and spacious) where they have a water station (cold and hot water) and a microwave, we sometimes get Chinese takeout and warm it up in the microwave, and they serve free coffee and tea every day there too(but I forgot the time). would stay here again when we visit New York next time. highly recommend!!

forgot to mention that the pillows were the softest and fluffiest too

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel, we visit the city each Christmas and have stayed at many other properties. We came back for the location, the spacious room, the view from our room, and the excellent service from the front desk staff. The overall value is great.
As for the location, we could walk 30 minutes each way and reach the east village, soho, little Italy, etc. while avoiding the masses of midtown during the holidays. That said, the hotel in the heart of chinatown which opened on Christmas while most places are closed. We could come back from late theater and grab dinner around the corner. The convenience can't be beat.
We enjoy the relaxed but boutique feel of the hotel. Although we don't like the 'destination' fee, the hotel provides vouchers to the coffee shop around the corner, which is a good option for a light breakfast.

We did loads of research to find the hotel and hoped it would be a good balance of value and quality. It exceeded our expectations by miles. The rooms were spacious, clean and in great condition. We had a joining family rooms, which were brilliant. The free tea, coffee and hot chocolate on floor 2 was so convenient and our kids loved the hot chocolate. The rooftop bar has fabulous views across manhattan and the location is great, with access to lots of different subway as on different lines. It’s within walking distance of the Brooklyn bridge making it easy to walk across and spend some time in Brooklyn. I think the hotel is really good value for the price, and I looked at a lot of hotels…!

We took a large youth group to NYC (ages 14-18). We worked with Doug and Ida for almost six months to plan the trip. They were outstanding. They assisted us with managing the room block, facilitating early check in, securing decent rates, printing once we got there and realized that we had printing needs, and ensuring that the rooms were spotless. I would definitely bring our group to this venue again.

This is a really great hotel, which I chose due to location for a business trip. Staff provided 5 star service - I requested tea making services and this was brought to my room within 5 minutes. Porters helped with our luggage and securing a taxi for the airport - nothing was too much trouble. A great feature of the hotel is the second floor with a large indoor and outdoor space for guests to relax. There is tea & coffee, plates, cutlery and water stations - we ordered take out and it was very welcome to eat here rather than in our rooms. Amazing bakery next door for breakfast & sandwiches, Chinese restaurant next door, and 5 minute walk to little Italy. Would definitely recommend if you need to be in this part of town, although for sightseeing it is quite far from the main attractions.

If you’re looking for a hotel that gives you the real New York City experience without compromising comfort, Hotel 50 Bowery is it! Situated right in the heart of Chinatown, this place offers an incredible mix of culture, convenience, and top-tier hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in the energy of the neighborhood—there’s so much to explore just steps away from the hotel, whether it’s amazing food, art galleries, live music, or just the vibrant street life.

Inside the hotel, the service was just as impressive. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. A special shoutout to Shahram, one of the managers, who went out of his way to ensure I made the most of my stay. He personally made sure I took full advantage of the hotel’s amenities, including access to The Crown, the rooftop bar and lounge. The views from up there? Unreal. You get a breathtaking panoramic look at the city skyline—easily one of the best rooftop spots in NYC.

What really surprised me was how quiet my room was. I was just one floor below the rooftop club, but the soundproofing was so good that I didn’t hear a thing. I slept like a baby in one of the coziest beds I’ve ever had in a hotel. And can we talk about the views from my room? Absolute perfection. Waking up to the sight of the city stretched out before me was a dream. Plus, the water pressure was great, and the shower stayed hot—which, if you know NYC winters, you know that’s a big deal, so holiday travelers are covered.

This hotel is perfect if you want to be close to everything—SoHo, Little Italy, the Lower East Side—but still have a stylish, comfortable retreat to come back to at the end of the day. If you’re visiting NYC and want an experience that blends culture, nightlife, and comfort seamlessly, Hotel 50 Bowery is the spot. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Staff were excellent, very helpful. I didn't feel well toward the end of the business trip and worked out of the hotel room the last two days. I loved the Globalist benefit of room service for breakfast. It was very convenient to stay in the room to make sure I didn't spread any germs to anyone else. Internet worked great for business meetings. The billing was easy. Oh, and the rooftop has a gorgeous view.

Has such a good time I plan to stay here next week with my husband and nephews as part of their high school senior trip!

Thank you Hotel 50 Bowery!

First time staying in Lower Manhattan and I had a very lovely experience. Booked a standard king (23k per night) for 4 nights, automatic Globalist upgrade to a Manhattan Bridge view via the app. I didn’t push for a suite bc the app shows they were pretty full already and I didn’t need the extra space.

Got a $50 daily breakfast credit (based on 2 occupancy). It was a little tricky to understand how to use it, bc the Mish Mosh cafe was downstairs, next door to the hotel but NOT part of the hotel. So if you go over $50, you pay the difference to the cafe, can’t bill to your room. You can also order to-go via a link which the hotel will email you every morning, and you can request to deliver the food to the lobby or second floor communal dining room, where they offer complimentary coffee and tea. You can also scan the QR code at the second floor, and they will serve your food on actual dinnerware instead of to-go boxes. But if you scan at the tables, you’ll need to wait 15-20min for your food. So I guess it just depends if you’re in a hurry or not.

The rooftop was very nice. Staff was very personable and didn’t mind us checking out the place. The hostess even told off an ‘influencer’ that told us to get out of their ‘shot’ bc we are actual hotel guests.

Housekeeping failed to come after 2nd night. I asked front desk and they said it will be noted. No housekeeping again after 3rd night so I just gave up. Luckily we didn’t NEED anything but would have been nice to see the bed made, etc.

I purposely picked this location bc it was within walking distance to my aunt’s nursing home in LES. It’s basically in the heart of Chinatown, which was perfect bc I was surrounded by awesome eats. My sister crashed with me for 3 nights and bc of Globalist, $75 daily valet parking was waived! 🙌🏼
