I just left from a 3 night, 4 day stay at the Town and Country “resort” and from the beginning things were a disaster. I was at the resort with a very large group for a conference and it was CLEAR the establishment was not up for the challenge of this many guests. The first issue occurred before arrival when we received an email confirmation with a new confirmation number different from our original and a different room type. We assumed it was an upgrade based on photos and didn’t think much of it. When we arrived, however, we did not have the same room type we booked. We were a group of 4 now with 1 king bed. When we went tried to call customer service no one answered. We made the LONG trek back to the lobby and they told us they did not have ANY suites with 2 beds available. The solution was to bring us a rollaway. How is this acceptable when we traveled ACROSS THE COUNTRY? We finally at least got a room on the correct floor and a meager room rate adjustment. However, the room we were put in had a major A/C issue. I called guest services the next day when my room was at 78 degrees and was told someone would be there soon. 2 hours later no one had arrived. I finally received a call from maintenance telling me to turn the thermostat to 50. This did nothing. The next day I still had a room that was horribly warm and went to guest services in person. They assured me someone would be there immediately. I left the hotel and returned SEVERAL HOURS LATER and still no one had come to fix the issue. When I spoke to a manager at that point someone did go in, but it made only a minor difference…the thermostat at checkout was at 55 and room was at 71. In addition to the room issue. Restaurants in the “resort” were a hot mess. We waited 2 hours at the Lapper for daiquiris and chips and salsa—$16 daiquiri and $11 chips and they messed up the daiquiris TWICE (no alcohol first time, then tried to bring out a shot to just mix in the virgin drink). One girl at the table never received her drink. The Market, their grab and go option, is suppose to open at 7:00 and opened late the day I tried to go in person. It was GROSSLY understaffed for the rush. The next day I ordered it as room service at 5:30 to be delivered between 7-7:15. At 8:30 we had a session and had to leave. We intercepted the food on a cart traveling toward the tower rooms and food was there, but she didn’t have our drinks. I had to go to Market to get them. Instead of getting those made ASAP, our drinks were put at end of Line. Finally, maid service. It doesn’t exist. We never had anyone come to clean our room…but what’s more, we were missing soap and wash clothes in our room. We called to get wash clothes one morning and were told “maid service doesn’t open until 7:00” we didn’t get out wash clothes until 8:30–after we had showered and needed to leave. The last thing I will bring up is how ridiculous it is laid out! There are steps to all the buildings for you to lug your suitcases up! Modern conveniences are just not to be found—soap, shampoo, conditioner? Forget it! Nothing about this feels like a resort except the exorbitant prices.…
This place has amazing pools, bars, and a huge slide kids and adults can love. Newly renovated common areas and sleeping quarters. Reasonable rates. Family friendly with a 1 foot kiddie pool, a 3 and a half foot pool, nice size jacuzzi, and fun slides for both kids and adults. While it is family friendly, there is a chic restaurant and two bars for adult and fun kid's drinks. A MRKT is available for small bites and in-room essentials. The property is still doing works in progress and I can't wait to see what's to come. Food and bev manager is friendly and open minded to local ideas. Great moves are happening here. This is a hotel to watch and attend!
We had a great time, with our baseball family. Such a great hotel and making exceptions for our team and late check outs to enjoy the water slide. The kids enjoyed everything especially the volley ball courts and hanging out and getting to run around. Love all the fire pits and being able to hang out and eat there.
Our stay was great. The Hotel was beautiful & clean. Nice restaurants didn’t have to leave to go get food. Great atmosphere! 5 star for sure! Will recommend to family & friends! Check- in process was fast and easy and checkout as well.
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in San Diego. I had a great experience with the Town & Resort Hotel. I am pretty sure Jose, he is a one of best front desk staff, he was extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. He went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Thankk you, Jose. Also, Rea, Carl and Chris, thank you for your help to check out smoothly.
