Detailed Reviews
This hotel was amazing! We normally stay at a different hotel when in the Boston area but decided to stay here due to price. There must have been something going on in Boston because the prices were ridiculous. This hotel was still reasonably priced at total of $190. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Super accommodating as well. We were traveling with a toddler and I had called the night before to ask if we could drop bags before going out for the day. The person said that she would assign us a room as soon as one cleaned so that way when we arrived it would be all ready for us since they were anticipating on time check outs…wow. It was wonderful to be helped and not ask. Room was fun, great temperature and the place is spotless clean
Water coffee and tea always in the lobby. Parking was plentiful and well lit in all areas
We definitely would stay again! Convenient to so May things as well

Hotel's Favourite
We checked in for a two night stay with family on a Friday night around 20:00. We had a few minute wait while the very friendly check in agent (Klara) took care of the guest in front of us. We were helped and greeted just as warmly, and quickly given the keys to our room. She was VERY friendly and helpful. We went up to our room, which was the one (separate) bedroom movie themed suite. It was really a very nifty space, and even the light fixtures were film studio themed and were more than just nifty decorations. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and all the tech functioned as expected. The shower had great water pressure, and overall the room was really well worth the price tag.
The hotel restaurant is owned by a small local chain, and provides the free breakfast in the morning. My wife and I had a couple of the pizzas between us that over our stay, and can highly recommend the restaurant itself. Jerry was the bartender, and was also very friendly and helpful with the pour your own tap system. The only negative was that the restaurant closed at 21:00 on a Friday night. The hotel IS in an area that is well laden with good bars and restaurants, but it definitely felt early to close on a Friday night.
The free breakfast on Saturday was suitable for the hotel's price point, although the only meat product provided was cold deli ham. They did have scrambled eggs and French toast as well, so those with kids would probably feed them quite happily. The coffee was quite good though!
On Saturday at 16:30, they had a free social hour for all hotel guests with a free glass of wine and a snack. It was a nice little touch, and Costa was very friendly. We also happened to be having a small family get together in the back of the restaurant area on Saturday afternoon, and the Restaurant manager Jesse was coordinating all of our food requests, as opposed to the normal QR code ordering process. It was greatly appreciated, and again, much like all the staff we interacted with, was very friendly.
Overall, it was a great stay. The staff was very friendly, the room comfortable, and I really enjoyed the pour your own craft beer wall. Definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the Boston area, as it's a reasonable walk to the T and the heart of town. It's also in an area that has a ton of great bars and restaurants in reasonable walking distance.

Great little hotel!! I loved my stay here. Room was clean and just what i needed for the stay. It does have a fridge and microwave was available upon request i believe. I went down at 12:30am to ask for hot water for some soup I had and Mo was so sweet to fill my soup cup with hot water. There is someone at the desk at all hours and they are very accommodating. Parking is easy with several spots available. Access to the hotel is from two streets in front and behind it making the trip out in the morning very easy to leave on the back road where there is no traffic. It is conveniently located to many food and grocery stores. I would def stay here again. Thanks!!

Service was okay (the check-in machine was broken so our check-in took a full 20+ minutes). Room gets two points for being clean and affordable, but minus three points for a heating unit that sounded like a jet engine taking off every 15 minutes. Was so loud we turned the heat down and it still roared away, waking us up throughout the night. Very thin walls to boot. Ironically one of the amenities is a white noise machine. Our first room hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. Bathroom sliding door didn’t close all the way leaving a very awkward gap. No outlets next to bed. No extra toilet paper. Location not ideal if you don’t have a car. I’d trade all the quirky colorful circles and triangles on the walls for basic conveniences and comforts of 2025.

This hotel is a wonderful little gem, especially for people who don't want to stay in a huge hotel in the heart of the city. The location is perfect - it's close to the "main drag" with shops and restaurants of all types, and directly across from a wonderful park right on the river, with walking/biking paths and a cool childrens' park. We've stayed there a number of times, and the staff greets us like old friends they are happy to see. The rooms are always immaculate, parking is free and plentiful, and the staff bends over backwards to make sure their guests have everything they need. They were lacking a restaurant when the one they had on site closed, but I hear that a new one is coming very soon, so we are looking forward to trying that out when it opens. We won't stay anyplace else when we visit Boston!

My kids and I stayed here for a fencing tournament. I was daunted by the reviews, but it was walking distance to the fencing club, so we took a chance on it. I was pleasantly surprised. Parking was super easy (you do have to pay $10 to park there overnight.) The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was fun, spacious, and clean. I loved the citrus-scented soap. Our room was on the 5th floor, directly across from the elevators, and I was a little bit worried that it would be noisy there, but it wasn't, and we all slept well. There's a restaurant downstairs with lots of kid-friendly food, and breakfast was included. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7:00. We came down early because we had to get to the tournament early, and I was happily surprised to see breakfast was already out, even the hot food. The scrambled eggs and French toast were a bit meh, but it did the trick. There was also fruit, yogurt, bagels, and a few different cereals.
The only thing I think the hotel should improve upon is the restaurant situation. There are no waiters or even a host, and you are supposed to order your own food from the provided computer or your phone, seat yourself, and then pick up your food from a counter when you get a text that it's ready. However, none of this is clear when you walk in. If you aren't going to have real, live people there to greet guests, at least have some clear signage telling them what to do. It was busy when we arrived, with a large group around the bar. We stood around for a few minutes, trying to figure out what the deal was. We saw the computer to order, but weren't sure if that was just for to-go orders. I finally made my way to the bartender, who was very nice and explained the whole system to me. A bit later, a man who was sitting near us asked if a waiter comes to take the orders, and I had to explain the whole system to him. It shouldn't be that confusing.
Overall, though, the stay met all of our needs, and the location was perfect for our purposes.

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful and so accommodating. While the hotel itself was not the BEST quality, we were comfortable and Mo was the most helpful - making our stay seamless, and enjoyable - providing everything we could possibly need. Mo took particular care to ensure our room was switched when the original smelled of paint and made it difficult for us to sleep. Once in the new room, he accommodated our request for an additional fan and made sure we had everything we needed. We’d give the hotel a 7/10, but Mo was a 10/10 and we honestly may have checked out early had it not been for him!

We received a very friendly welcome at Studio Allston. Our room was at the back of the main building and was very nicely furnished and very clean. Unfortunately, the walls are extremely thin, you can hear everything from the room next door and the hallway. So it wasn't really comfortable to sleep (even though the bed was comfortable). But in this case it probably also depends on what kind of roommates you have. Accordingly, we didn't think the price/performance ratio was good, even if you have to give the hotel credit for the fact that you can park for free (which is rare in Boston) and you are offered breakfast. You order this via a QR code and then go and eat or pick it up on the ground floor. Another point of criticism: the food is then provided in disposable boxes. Unfortunately, this produces a lot of waste. All in all, we had an okay stay - nice staff and nice rooms on the one hand. The high price, the thin walls and the somewhat questionable breakfast concept on the other.

If you are looking for an affordable stay in Boston at an interesting hotel, this is the place. I stayed here for a work trip, and was impressed with the hospitality and uniqueness of this hotel. The room I stayed in was covered in gorgeous art, it was clean, had a massive king bed, and the bathroom was fully stocked. The hotel itself isn't massive, but that makes for easy access to all floors. There was available parking, even when I showed up after my late night shift, and a 24/hr desk person as well as security. Since the hotel was located on Soliders Field Road, I was able to access Downtown, Allston itself, Watertown, and Brighton easily from this one location. If you're seeing a concert in the city, or just here for work, I can't recommend this enough if you are looking for a hotel with a cool vibe and affordable rooms.

We had the pleasure of staying at Studio Allston, and our experience was exceptional, largely thanks to Mo, who went above and beyond to ensure our late-night arrival was smooth and stress-free. We arrived much later than expected, but Mo had everything prepared for us, making us feel immediately welcomed and at ease.
Despite the late hour, he took the time to walk us through the check-in process and made sure we had everything we needed to settle in comfortably. Mo was friendly and accommodating, offering helpful tips about the area, including great places to eat and things to do. His hospitality was a standout feature of our stay. It was clear he genuinely cared about our experience, and his attention to detail was much appreciated after a long day of travel.
Studio Allston itself was clean, stylish, and had all the amenities we could ask for. But what really made our stay special was Mo’s warmth and professionalism. He turned a potentially stressful situation into a seamless one, making us feel right at home. We’re grateful for his kindness and would highly recommend Studio Allston to anyone visiting the area.
