You cannot beat the location of this property. Moved rooms after finding stains on the sheets to be put in another room with stains on the sheets. Called for new ones and made the bed myself. The wall and door of the bathroom were covered in toothpaste. But- view of Quincy Market and walking distance to almost everything! Front desk was nice.
Bad bad bad... first time guest meant to have a very nice time in Boston. Check in 💝 day with my wife... was okay get to the room wanted to relax before we get the day going. Turn TV and great doesn't work . Tried and tried to fix this issue and told the front desk what's going to happen and they mention can't move me because it's full and they will call me back. We couldn't settle in and unpack and was waiting around not to mention we have dinner reservations and made it late and didn't know if we could still unpack so stressful looking at the damn walls. Unacceptable service.. front desk btw never called me back and didn't check on us at all.... I would like the owner or manage to call or email. After 2.5 hours the maintenance person finally tried a new box 2nd box and it worked then. So inconvenient and wasted our time and unsuraty. Not a good experience...oh did I mention how loud the people were beside us on both side.. partying loud music till 230 am. Did not sleep well!! Overall a bad experience to begin with...…
At Check in, was told no valet, had to park in a garage across the street for $40 a night. The room was $115 bucks, then they slap a $29 a night amenity fee on you for as they describe, coffee, pastry, newspapers and bottled water. The only one that existed was the water which was warm. The room was very loud. Insulation was awful. The restaurant was closed which was a disappointment but plenty of attractions in walking distance. We decided to stay another night, I asked them to waive the amenity fee, because well, there weren’t any amenities. Was told it’s part of the room charge. The front desk clerk was not personable at all. Would not stay here again.
Stayed in room 737 from Jan 8-10. Checked in Friday evening. Guy was ok personality. Didn’t explain any facility available services such as a computer room/ gym/ etc. No lobby coffee present. Room was ok ,but lacking much needed maintenance. Toilet rocked from side to side due to not being mounted properly. Front window was held together with duct tape. AC duct visible moisture issues at some point causing wall paper peeling. Ceiling shower small amount of mildew and paint cracking and peeling. No maid service. Left my room at 8:00am and was never touched. Front desk excuse says no room service due to Covid. I do understand, but should have been explained at check in. Walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbors conversation and in my case there partying until 2:00am with the door slamming constantly. Smell of weed smoke was evident the first night although it’s supposed to be non smoking. The refrigerator is also falling apart with internal circuit boards showing. Checked out Sunday morning. No “How was your stay with us” The staff seems blah. Still no coffee in the lobby. No on-site parking. Parking garage across the street LAZ parking charges $40 a night and requires you to download the Application to pay. So takes another 10-15 minutes of your time before you can go park. Very good location the the North End. The restaurants seem to be trying during Covid but definitely can see the lack of detail, but not the lack of prices they are charging. Mikes Pastry was delicious. Overall we understand the hotel is trying to operate during Covid but all of the above issues could be addressed regardless.I. These times it’s important to step up your hospitality. Remember the customers pay your bills. I would have gave it two stars but due to Covid I’m giving it three stars. …
My daughter and I were supposed to spend a couple of nights in the Bostonian but we checked out after one night. We chose the hotel because of its location, and it is in a great location and easy to walk to a lot of Boston sites. However, we did not feel comfortable staying here. There was no discussion of the hotel’s COVID precautions and rules while checking in. Also, our non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke, and the cleanliness of bathroom was not up to par. Overall, we found Boston to be quite a walkable city and we didn’t need the proximity to the sites the Bostonian offered to enjoy our visit.
