The Lenox Hotel boasts a prime Back Bay location that many travelers find perfect for exploring Boston's attractions, with the hotel itself exuding an old-school charm, despite some calling it dated. While the staff's exceptional service is often highlighted, reviews on value are mixed, with some deeming it costly.
Cleanliness receives high marks, contributing to a comfortable stay, although guests have noted that room updates and better maintenance are needed. Amenities like cozy fireplaces delight guests, but the lack of in-room coffee and dated bathrooms have drawn some criticism.

Detailed Reviews
We travel to Boston regularly and usually stay in another hotel that is very modern. Our usual accommodation wasn't available this trip so, after hours of searching the internet for other options, we tentatively chose the Lenox based on the excellent customer reviews it had received.
They are completely deserved.
Whilst the hotel is far more traditional than we are used to, it oozes charm and character and we soon grew to love it. When you walk into the lobby it smells amazing, and the staff are so friendly and helpful (without being too full on). Our room was spacious and the bed (king) was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but had everything you could possibly need, and the lighting was superb (with the option of a night light in case you needed to use the bathroom during the night). The magnifying mirror was also very useful.
We loved getting back to our room at night to see that our bed had been turned down and Lindt chocolates had been left on the pillows. It was the small touches that made it feel so special. We were also delighted to discover each room has its own golf umbrella, as it threw it down one day and we obviously hadn't thought to bring an umbrella in our suitcases!
The hotel's location is brilliant and everything is within either walking distance or can be accessed via the T (which is a 3 minute walk away). We also used Uber a lot and the prices were great!
On a final note, the hotel contains several bars and the sangria is beautiful!
We would highly recommend the Lenox and would like to thank the staff for making it one of the most pleasurable visits to Boston that we have had.

We reserved a corner room with a fireplace, and were not disappointed by its warmth and charm. The rooms were quite large (there were 3 of us - two adults and a teen), and the fireplace warmed the whole space for about an hour each time. Only downside is we had to call downstairs any time we wanted it lit (firecode prevents them from leaving anything in the room that would allow us to light it ourselves). The housekeeper that we had most of our time there was wonderful... nightly turndown service with yummy Lindt truffles and fresh water bottles were a delight. The hotel also offered hot cocoa & cookies service each evening, and hot tea/coffee each morning. We were grateful for the mini frig in the room as well, which allowed us to keep cool snacks and cold drinks. And the hotel's location was perfect for great, long sightseeing walks... as well as shorter 'errand' walks to pick up coffee or any forgotten toiletries nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will stay there again next time I get to Boston.

This beautiful hotel has me wanting to travel back to Boston soon. I was taking my daughter to college, which was a bittersweet trip to begin with, but add COVID to the mix and neither of us was keen to travel. Upon entering the lobby we felt at ease. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel safe, welcome, and appreciated. Our room was clean, our beds were so comfy, and I was even introduced to "nanoSeptic" - a safety barrier used on their elevator buttons that I might be incorporating into high touch surfaces in my workplace. Upon leaving, solo, in tears - the doorman assured me that should anything big happen, he's a phone call away for assistance since I'm across the country. I found my new happy place. I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I just returned from an amazing anniversary weekend at the Lennox. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a corner fireplace room and received a nice note and bottle of champagne in our room. Our room was awesome, with a great view of Boston and we felt safe from the virus in the pristine environment. The Lennox’s staff is dedicated and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and tended to our every need. The front desk attendants, bellmen and cleaning staff all greeted us kindly whenever we saw them. We will definitely return to this gem of a hotel.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are friendly, the beds are comfortable, and our room was quiet and spacious. Very close to Saltie Girl and Atlantic Fish Co, both excellent seafood restaurants. Starbucks is across the street, and Lord and Taylor dept store is next door. The stop for the Logan airport shuttle, $3 per person is a very short walk away. Our only disappointment is there are no tea or coffee facilities in the room, which means you have to go out, not convenient if if is 5am and you are jet lagged! We queried this and were told it was due to fire risk, which seems very odd. Never stayed in a hotel without these facilities before..other than that it is great.

+1
Spent the last few days of 2019 at the Lenox. I’ve never stayed here prior basically picked it for the great location next to the Boston Public Library and Copley Square. I was blown away by my room and every single staff person I encountered. My room was a corner King suite and was beautiful. I was totally impressed with the decor and the size of the room in a downtown hotel. The bed and pillows made for a perfect nights’ sleep. Loved having a tub to soak in after a cold windy rainy day. I was on the 8th floor looking at the library and was able to enjoy the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Copley Square. Cannot say enough about the kindness of all the staff. Definitely will stay at the Lenox next time I’m in Boston.

I stayed here while attending a conference at the New England Historic Genealogical Society on Newbury. My room was spacious and comfortable and had a fireplace—I could call and someone would be up within 20 min to light the fire for me. (Side note: it was a lovely fire but did not burn forever, which I thought was a good thing!) The staff was very friendly and helpful. Obviously the location was perfect because of my conference but it was also handy to the green T line (and not far from the orange). The City Table restaurant had a great menu that was just interesting enough.

This is a must experience hotel. I’ve been traveling to Boston every three weeks for medical treatments for about nine months. I finally found a place that is like being at home! I just stayed for the fourth time at this boutique hotel, and will continue to stay here for the remainder of my treatments! The staff always is warm and welcoming after a long day. They go the extra mile in every situation. One evening I called down to see if perhaps there might be a heating pad I could use, they actually went out and bought a heating pad and delivered it to my room within 30 minutes of my call!
I grew up in the south, so I haven’t had any experience with big city ways. I think one of the best things about The Lenox is Peter, he is the doorman for the hotel. He is always on the job. He remembers my name, is always a friendly face coming and going from start to finish. He greets the drivers for my visits to the hospital and even offers them coffee! My driver commented that over the last year he had picked up clients at 165 hotels in Boston, and never been offered anything anywhere else! Peter keeps everything running smoothly for all the visitors at The Lenox.
There are so many close restaurants—but we usually end up eating right at the hotel. The restaurants on the property are wonderful for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
I know you’ll enjoy your stay, and you’ll come back again and again!

First time in Boston and had a two night stay to see the town before heading out to the Cape for an event. Chose The Lenox after reviewing several others, based upon reviews and was not disappointed. Great location, very friendly and accommodating staff from the front desk to the concierge to the bar tenders and doormen. It was very busy there and the staff had it under control and were very helpful with any need. The room was very clean and comfortable on the 5th floor and excellent roasted coffee is strategically located right at the elevator so you don't have to wander much in the morning. Perfect walking area and I enjoyed the stroll to the beautiful public gardens about 10 min away. Will definitely stay here again on another Boston trip.

We chose this hotel for the location and the fact that we could get adjourning rooms(one with a working wood fireplace). The fireplace service was available daily- something cool in a hotel.
2 restaurants were open (Boston has COVID rules), one better than the other.
It is a walkable area and the staff was very friendly and accommodating- we will return.

Yes, we stayed in a room with 2 Queens and a pullout sofa. The pullout isn't available in all rooms, but some do. The room was great, and fit all of us perfectly. Its a wonderful hotel.
You're pretty close (walking distance) to a local supermarket (can't remember the name) and a Dunkin donuts as well as a Starbucks.
We were just at the hotel!!! I have never heard of such an issue and would not stay at a place with this issue. Omg. The hotel is immaculate! Call the front desk and discuss this with the manager.
