Nestled in the heart of Boston, the Hilton Boston Park Plaza garners praise for its prime location and historic appeal. Guests have called out the hotel's high-quality housekeeping and array of amenities, though the charm is occasionally overshadowed by small bathrooms and signs of wear. While the staff's friendly and professional service receives commendations, visitors often feel the sting of hidden fees, questioning the hotel's value. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, and the issue of noise disrupting a good night's sleep is a common concern among guests.

The hotel is very close to a lot of different activities in the city as well as access to the MBTA and taxicab. Front desk people are very friendly and can take the extra time to work out a problem. Has an upscale restaurant in the middle that serve food in a casual but classy environment. I have been there for a conference, exhibition, and banquet and have had an amazing experience. The champagne is 20 dollars per glass.

There is laundry service, but it is also a little pricey. A trip to the nearest Laundromat only costs 6 dollars by taxi and is about a 16 minute walk. The taxi takes credit cards, which is convenient. The laundromat needs cash and to purchase a laundry card beforehand.

The hotel has lots of function rooms for hosting events and meetings, as well as a dance floor on the lower level near the concierge desk. The hotel has very upscale and modern elements while retaining its old Gatsby style wood paneling.

There is a Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge, and television set (with all of the cable channels you love), as well as a microwave upon request. There is an ice bucket with an ice maker and vending machine (that takes credit cards) on every floor except 12.

Very LGBT friendly (other than the lack of a gender neutral bathroom in common space) and gave nobody problems with using the bathroom of their gender identity. LGBT nightlife nearby includes: Jacques Cabaret, Legacy Nightclub, and Club Cafe near Back Bay/Arlington.

I highly recommend it if you are looking for a five star hotel experience with less hassle than luxury hotels and resorts. This is an experience only Hilton can provide.

My wife and me traveled for the first time to Boston for the weekend in Mid-October in occasion of her birthday. When we arrived to the Boston Park Plaza we´re very surprised with the location (very centric and close to everything, even the Public Garden & the Boston Common) and the elegant & gorgeous lobby. The early check-in was quickest and kind. We got a super-spacious corner suite, the 6036 in the six floor with a great view from three windows, a king size bed and separate bedroom and living room, including a queen size sofa bed with two LG 50" TVs, one in each room. If you want a great room with space for four people, this is a great choice. It was good enough for the two of us.

To get access to the rooms, the elevators have to be activated with the key card you receive at the front desk, which I find it very safe. Our suite was clean everywhere. Plenty of lighting, two closets, an easy to use safe, lots of wood hangers for dresses, shirts and pants and a decoration of good taste. The blackouts in each window covered very well. In the living room we found a cabinet where one of the TVs is placed with a good size mini refrigerator and a Keurig coffeemaker. Great Colombian coffee.

We only have breakfast in the Off The Common Lobby Restaurant which found it very delicious. You can choose between a la carte or buffett, which is plenty of good stuff. We acknowledge the attentions of our waitress Stephania, which was very nice and kind to take care of our requests.

I made reservations to Strega Italiano, the Italian restaurant where is located right in the lobby. Delicious seafood dinner and a courteous attention of Jhason, our waiter and Bettina, the seating hostess. It was an unforgettable evening for my wife.

Our stay was only for two days, but I fulfill my wife's dream in her birthday trip to know Boston. We're very pleased with all the attentions given by the staff since the moment we checked-in. The day we checked-out, we got the help of Fernando, the Spanish-speaking bellboy, which was very savvy and attentive to help us. As for the rest of the staff, they're A+. Kudos for the great service. We´ll be back with higher expectations!

As a rule, I only write positive reviews. Today I am making an exception.

We are members of Hilton Honors and over the years we have stayed in quite a few Hiltons and never been disappointed. We recently rented two rooms at the Boston Hilton for three nights. There is no doubt that the location of the Boston Hilton is excellent. With the exception of the slick concierge on our check-out day, we found the staff members to be professional, polite, friendly, responsive and efficient. On the day we checked in, two staff members were in the lobby serving apple cider and delicious donuts to guests. That was a very nice welcome to Boston on a fall day. The staff, location, comfy mattresses, bedding and pillows are the positives. The lobby is bustling and welcoming.

Our rooms were spacious and clean, but very, very, very tired and neglected. Our beds were comfortable and our rooms were quiet and we slept well, but the chairs in our room were frayed and grubby from age and desperately in need of disposal or some sort of attention. There was an air of neglect to our two rooms. The “glasses” were plastic and wrapped in plastic film and the coffee cups were paper. The “cream” was a powdered chemical concoction. We had to trot down to the lobby to scrounge up some proper glasses and we brought in our own little real dairy containers.

Our bathroom was sorry and dated. Other than the limited space around the sink, there were no flat surfaces, so we put the luggage rack in the bathroom and used it for our toiletry bags. There were no hooks in the bathroom, so we draped our clothes over the grab bars while we showered rather than putting our clean clothes on the floor. There was no soap provided until we asked for it. There was no stopper for the tub until we asked for it. We could not use the exhaust fan because the noise was loud, piercing and deafening. The days of that fan actually doing its job had long passed. It had just become a noise-maker over the years. Other than the bathroom fan, we found the room very quiet and peaceful and we felt safe even though the security lock didn’t work.

We lived out of suitcases for our three day stay because there were no cabinets or drawers in the rooms. With our luggage rack in use in the bathroom, we put one suitcase on the top of the safe so it was off the floor and easier to access and worked from the floor with the second case.

The new phone system was not working properly in our room.

We weren’t exactly pioneer women roughing it in the wilds, but we expected more from the Boston Hilton. The definiciences were minor but numerous.

We loved the city, and, yes, we would stay in the Boston Hilton again.

I won’t comment on the labour dispute and picketers.

mlghtft, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It is pleasing that you appreciated the location, warm welcome, and friendly team members. The comfort of the bedding is an important aspect, and it's reassuring to know that this contributed to a restful stay. The comments regarding the room and its amenities have been noted, and while recent renovations have been completed, certain aspects are still being refined. Complimentary amenities like mini fridges and cribs are available upon request, ensuring a more comfortable stay. Please accept apologies for any inconvenience caused by the incidental fee hold; typically, authorizations may take between 5-7 business days to be released by the card's issuing bank. We're glad that you enjoyed your time in the city, and we look forward to welcoming you back for an improved experience.

Really bad time with this hotel. We stayed here over this past Labor Day weekend, which was a bad time for most guests of the hotel, as you can see from the recent reviews. There was a big cleaning staff strike over the weekend that heavily impacted operations and guest experience.

I'll start with the good: we did get off relatively easy, compared to some other guests, as we got into our rooms on time and without waiting in a giant line. Most of the hotel staff we interacted with were friendly and gracious, if (understandably) a bit frazzled at times. We booked a room with two queen beds (which I suspect were actually two full size beds), so the room itself was not oppressively small. We had a mini fridge. WiFi seemed to work well enough. Elevators came more frequently than at some other hotels. The lobby is sleek, and also features a lobby "ambassador" dog, named Rueger. The location of the hotel is pretty good, but not necessarily the best in the city for tourists, IMO. I'd sooner recommend staying near Faneuil Hall/the North End, if you can swing it.

That's it for the good. Now for the rest: the bathroom was rather small, and visibly aged, with dings, scratches, and scuffs. The paint on the old tub was peeling. The bathroom was not completely filthy, but not impeccably clean, which may have been a result of the cleaning staff strike. The guest rooms are very poorly soundproofed, so aside from hearing your neighbors and noises in the hallway, we could very clearly hear all outdoor noise, including the striking protestors outside. This woke us up between 5am-6am each morning we stayed. And they definitely have cause to go on strike, because this hotel (like most of them) is raking in the profits with ridiculously high prices and underhanded fees, so they have no good excuse not to pay their staff a living wage.

The final upset is that we booked a room rate that included breakfast, and yet they still charged us for some of the breakfasts. I had to follow up over the phone multiple times after we got home, which helped get some of the breakfast charges refunded. However, three days later I am still waiting on one of the charges to be refunded, because apparently they did not put the charge for that one through until the evening, and they need to check with the restaurant manager to make sure we're not trying to scam for a free dinner. I'm told I might hear back about that sometime next week. And by the way, if the breakfast isn't included in your rate, the prices are completely outlandish and the quality of the food is so not worth it; between the lack of quality, and the billing challenges I am now experiencing, I would advise to simply have breakfast somewhere else.

Elana, thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like there were several challenges during your stay, particularly with the unforeseen events impacting operations. While the room met some expectations, it is unfortunate to hear about the issues with the bathroom and noise disturbances. Please accept our apologies for the challenges in regards to the authorization of your credit card; however, we, like most hotels, require a deposit to hold your room, and authorizations may take between 5-7 business days to be released by the card's issuing bank. We are glad to know you experienced friendly service from our team members and enjoyed amenities like the mini fridge and ambassador dog, Rueger. The team hopes you might consider a future visit for an improved experience.

For the first 2 days of our 3 night stay, there was housekeeping service. Even before the picketing began, the housekeeping was disappointing. No bars of soap in the bathrooms of either of our 2 rooms. Waste basket not emptied. Bathtub couldn’t be used for baths because there was no plug. Broken lock on one of the doors. Staff brought soap, a plug, and fixed the lock. We took our trash to the garbage can in the ice dispenser room. At a Hilton hotel, we expected the rooms to be ready and in good repair on arrival without having to call staff.

On the morning of our departure, we were planning to get 2 taxis to take 4 adults with luggage to the airport. The concierge offered to get us one large vehicle so we could all be together. He said it would be $10 each. We waited until the driver arrived. The driver said it was $50, not $40 and she loaded 2 more people into the vehicle after loading our suitcases. They were going to the cruise terminal. The driver took them there first. We were misinformed by the hotel concierge. We did not want to share a vehicle with strangers. We were not taken directly to the airport. All in all, a very annoying experience - thanks to the Hilton concierge.

I was visiting Boston for Parents Weekend at my kid’s school. My son wanted to stay at the Park Plaza Hilton to enjoy the Lynx gym facilities. For several weeks before our stay, the Park Plaza was fully booked and I was only able to book a two-night stay, even though I was in Boston for longer.

When I was making the booking, there was no indication on the Hilton website about the ongoing labor strike. I first learned of it when I checked in and was told that the lack of staffing meant that there would be no housekeeping service (I was told to call the Front Desk if I needed towels) and no room service (orders could be taken for pick up downstairs). Since the stay was only for two nights, I didn’t think the strike would have an impact on my stay. Boy, was I wrong. I really should have read more Trip Advisor reviews before my stay.

The noise by the strikers starts at 6:30 am with loud banging on plastic buckets and some type of horn that reminded me of the vuvuzelas from South Africa. The noise goes on all day in front of either of the two entrances until about 7-8 pm. The strikers hand out leaflets indicating they want guests to leave the facilities and demand refunds from the hotel. The noise is incessant. I was staying on the 14th floor and I could clearly hear the noise. I thought not having our room cleaned would be OK, but it was not. I called in to request that our room should be cleaned, only to receive an automated response. Ultimately no one came to clean the room.

I mentioned the fact that my room was never cleaned when I checked out and received a refund of the “resort fee” charged for both nights. I think that amounted to about USD 70 from a total stay amounting to around USD 1200.

I believe Hilton made a critically wrong decision on this. They really should have suspended operations until the labor issue is resolved. Opening this huge hotel and churning out dissatisfied guests will, in the long term, hurt its overall reputation, weaken the credibility of its brand, and deter its customers from reserving at this and maybe other properties. For the sake of being honest about its business, Hilton should have clearly informed me before my stay about the labor issues. I feel I was deceived.

Hilton Park Plaza hotel is convenient, clean and well kept with very close access to Newbury Street and if you are a runner - it’s very close to St Charles run/bike path! There is a bar, Starbucks store and gym in or next to the hotel. The staff for hotel part was very good. One of the bartenders didn’t know the area that well so stick to concierge for directions and recommended places if needed. It’s very quiet and easy to sleep without noise as the guests on our floor were respectful of the rules. There is a water refill station on every floor so bring your own bottle. The only recs I have are two. 1. I had to change my check in to a day later due to an emergency and I could NOT get anyone on the phone at this hotel for a day. I had my companion call as well.
They need to answer the phone or have a better system in place to respond to guests calling. I had to call the main Hilton line. 2. the towels in bathroom do need an upgrade - very small and tough.

The reception area is pleasant with an inviting lounge / Bar which we visit most evenings. We found that it really depended who you talk to on reception what advise/ response you receive. We upgraded our room on arrival as we were advised that our original booking was for a very small room. The room we checked into was very spacious but the furniture and decoration was dated and I did find this a theme throughout the rooms in the hotel. We had 2 issues with our room, the first that the coffee machine was not working and was spitting out hot water, so we called reception to request a replacement and were sent a plumber with a long pole expecting to look in the bathroom. We explained we did not have a plumbing issue we were awaiting a replacement coffee machine and called reception again only to receive a knock on the door from plumber number 2. Eventually we did get a replacement and the problem was resolved. On our second morning in the hotel we were awake early having a cup of coffee in bed when my eye was drawn to a movement on the floor near the unit holding the coffee machine and after a short scream I pointed out to my husband that there was in fact a mouse. My husband again informed reception and requested a room change which they very swiftly provided, but not before ...... you guessed it plumber number 3 knocked on the door. The hotel is in an excellent location and I would have to highly recommend staff member Devon who was always courteous and polite. Devon is a real problem solver and an excellent ambassador for the hotel. Having recently stayed in the beautiful Hilton Imperial, Dubrovnik I was hugely disappointed with the Boston Park Plaza and I would not stay there again.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a conference this month and could not say enough about its quality and location. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly bellman who assisted us in and through out our stay. We arrived hours before check-in but Richard did not bat an eye when we inquired on the ability to get into our room early. This gave us plenty of time to unpack and head to the North End!

During our stay, we utilized the Concierge numerous times for things like T information, shopping recommendations, maps, and pleasant conversation. This was also true of the employees who were in the gift shop. Each one of them was pleasant and helpful offering extra information on items in the shop. We also ran into other employees in the hall and cleaning rooms and they were all friendly, helpful -providing extras, and pleasant. It's obvious that they enjoy working at this hotel and the city of Boston.

The conference amenities were no different. Those setting up the tables, the ones cleaning the plates and serving breakfast, were all pleasant and happy to assist. The Grand Ballroom was well named with it's vaulted ceiling and seating, very impressive, and the expansion of the room to accommodate the number of attendees, did not make it more difficult to hear or see because of an additional sound system and screens further back. It was perfectly arranged.

The location of this hotel is literally steps away from the Green Line's Arlington stop which can take you anywhere in the city with a possible transfer. We used it daily.

We will be returning to the Boston Park Plaza Hotel again for pleasure if not for business.

I didn’t use a taxi, I walked everywhere (great location!) but it is a major metropolitan city. I’m sure taxis, Uber & Lyft are all available. You can always call the hotel to confirm.

You may not need the answer anymore - taxes and fees are usually calculated and stated before you book the hotel. However, please be aware of a new charge some hotels are charging these days. In Hawaii, we had to pay a daily resort fee - I suppose to use their beach access, towels, DVDs, etc. I was shocked when Hilton Boston Park Plaza tacked on extra fees the day we checked out. It was a $35/day “Destination Charge.” Whatever that means! Previous to the Hilton Boston Park Plaza, I’ve never heard of this before. I was told at the front desk at checkout that Hilton charges this to people who book through third party and that it should have been in the confirmation email (IT WAS NOT). They eventually took the fee off because they couldn’t find that clause in my confirmation email either. A reminder to all of us to read every fine detail.
