Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There was blood on the walls, and the blanket on the bed. There was dirt all over the walls, door facings, and bugs in the overhead light. The outside picture is NOT the same hotel. The picture that Tripadvisor shoes is not the same hotel. very dirty. If I had not gotten in so late and saw what the room really looked like with the lights on, I would have left, but didnt till the next morning.

First of all, it’s an old building. The room was mostly clean but in need of a major touchup. I inspected the room, the bed, under the sink, etc before unpacking. I peeled back every layer of bedding, looked under the mattress. No bugs. We had trouble getting the AC unit to turn on initially and discovered gobs of dust and hair inside it. The room was musty but running the AC helped “air it out” a bit. It also, later on, helped muffle the noise coming from outside our room, because it was a Saturday night and this was a Party Hotel for THE LOCALS! What worked was the TV, the internet, the fridge. The attendant in the lobby was friendly. Our room was on the first floor, near our car which we parked in view of a security camera. We were also removed somewhat from the “party floor” (third) where drug induced horror stories routinely take place. None of this made for a good night sleep. I would advise travelers to stay elsewhere. I would also advise travelers to avoid hotel review sites that mostly rely on star ratings and brief summary reviews that don’t elaborate.

The desk person, Mark, was pleasant. That's the main reason for 2 stars. The other is because my husband FINALLY got the AC to work, even though the unit is CAKED with dust. The floor was clean, no bedbugs (that my husband found) thankfully. Is it the absolute bottom of the barrel of hotels? No. Is it a place that, had I researched before hand, would I have paid to stay? No. Lesson learned, do your research and read reviews.

Our Stay started 30 minutes after we checked in with a call from the front desk stating that a homeless person just used our credit card to get a room. She did catch it after she gave them the room but don't know why she didn't ID them like she did me for my room. Now let's talk of the room it's smaller than a jail cell it has patchwork on patchwork the walls are dirty did not have any bed bugs or bugs thank God the shower pressure sucked they were burn marks all over the furniture everywhere and blankets two of the dresser drawers wouldn't work right. It was clean but didn't look it. They didn't Sweep around the bed. They do have security locks on the outside doors you enter with a card but every night the hallways were full with homeless people. And they were not quiet they would knock on your door. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate this motel a negative two. Thankfully we only spent nights there and the rest of time with family. We would have checked out after the first 30 minutes but we had already prepaid and we only slept there. If we have to stay there again they would have to pay us the daily rate. Lol. Just don't understand how many homeless can get in when it's locked key system.

This hotel has potholes, vagrants sleeping on the property and is generally nasty. I got many bedbug bites over my body; the bugs leave distinctive bite patterns. The bed covers were worn out with burn marks and other holes. The room smelled of cigs. The manager was parking in disabled with no placard. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Our non smoking room offensively smelled like smoke with burn marks on the tub and sink along with ashes in the drawer. Bugs--roaches and ants. Poor water pressure in the shower. Barking dog for hours. People hanging out in parking lot after dark. Could not get an itemized receipt. Refrigerator looked as if it went through the war but kept cold. AC worked well. Very convenient to restaurants and gas stations.

First room was pretty shabby, bare bones, and wifi didn't work, They moved me to another room, and it went from bad to worse. Wifi worked, but roaches in the room, even shabbier than the first, noisy neighbors, people hanging out in the halls till all hours of the night. Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable in both rooms. Frankly, I didn't expect much, but this place was the worst. Stay anywhere else.

This place is only good for a last minute stay if you can't find anywhere else to go. I was lucky enough to get a discount on a room for my mother for the weekend. I asked for a non smoking room because my mother is allergic to cigarette smoke so they put her on the second floor which is supposed to be non smoking. I knew this was an older building but that it was remodeled. Apparently it has not been remodeled because the whole place is dingy and sketchy. The staff was nice at least and the bed was comfortable and the TV was fairly new, but the room was not very clean. The light switch and covers needed to be replaced because they are old and dingy. The ceiling has dust clinging to the nicotine on it. The walls have stains, the mini fridge has mold growing in the rubber around the door. The doors look like they could be busted down easily. The light fixtures and the telephone are dusty. The bathroom is very dingy because of the old wall paper on the walls and the ceiling in the bathroom needs repairs. The housekeeping staff at least brought fresh towels, soap, coffee, shampoo and made the beds. The blankets on the beds had cigarette burn holes in them, even though the whole second floor is supposed to be non smoking. The screen on the window was bent.

My wife and I stayed here recently and the best way I can describe it is that the hotel is functional and suits one's needs for an inexpensive place to stay. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and I slept well. It is a bare-bones (no carpet on the floor for example) place to stay and that suited my wife and I well. We don't like spending much on hotels when we are going to be gone the entire day, and we'd rather put the savings into a nice dinner out. Even though it's bare-bones, we always felt safe. It's next door to "The Cracker Barrel" and across the street from "Burger King". If we go back, I'd stay there again.

For spending $130 a night I had higher expectations. The heater kicks on about every three minutes, the fridge was so loud we had to unplug it and there were long dark hairs on the towels we hadn’t used yet. And then there’s the pictures below. I realize $130 doesn’t get you a butler but it should at least get you a clean room.
