Nice gentleman at the desk. I asked about star gazing and safety at Arches and he assured me it was safe. After I left for the car, he ran out to tell me of another place I could try if I didn’t want to drive all the way in Arches. Too kind! He was also great when I needed something else earlier. The room was clean and large. Location was PERFECT for Arches National Park, Canyon land National Park, and Dead Horse State Park. They provide breakfast as well. Would definitely stay there again.

+1
We spent two nights at the Holiday Inn Express and it was a great location for visiting Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point State Park. My husband enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and we appreciated the daily breakfast buffet that had more choices than most. The servers worked very hard to keep everything clean and stocked, and reminded patrons to wear gloves before entering the food line. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, and the bathroom was large too. There were granola bars at the front desk if you needed a snack and parking was free and easy.

I arrived during the Superbowl game and front desk staff was "not available" for about ten minutes until I found her watching TV in the breakfast room. I received a top floor room as requested. A clean room with king bed, dresser, table and chair, comfy chair, fridge with freezer compartment, a microwave and large bathroom. The in-house wifi is somewhat slow. The bathroom fan runs permanently, so I closed the bathroom door "permanently". This seems to be a newer property at a quiet location. Breakfast buffet was maintained by friendly staff, offering omelettes, bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, muffins, bagels, sweet rolls and good coffee.

This is not your typical Holiday Inn Express experience…
*There is no microwave in room, so we were told we could use the microwave that the breakfast crew uses-at 11:00 am (well after breakfast hour) we asked yo use the microwave but the woman working breakfast hemmed and hawed, she then said she could heat it up for me. I said, “No, thank you”. Thankfully I declined as we say them packing the bagels/breads/muffins in individual baggies with no gloves! Yuck!
*One day we had to call the front desk and it rang busy each time. I tried 4 times and the. I walked up front to find staff laughing in the side room.
*During our 3 day stay, each day there were no towels at the pool. One day at the front desk, they gave me hand towels for our family to use! The person said we could dry off enough with it. The pool was dirty with dirt and bugs and the fire pit didn’t work.
*Carpets in hallway and rooms were rippling which is a tripping hazard.
*There was mold in our bathroom ceiling which my husband mentioned at the front desk. They did come in and do something to the ceiling as it was not as noticeable later that day.
*Vending machine was empty. Thankfully we had our own snacks.
*While at the pool, my husband had to use the lobby bathroom and he said ‘Someone blew it up really badly!!’ He told the front desk and they said they’d tag it and leave it for the next crew coming in! REALLY?!?
My husband travels a lot for work and is an IHG Spire Rewards member, meaning he’s stayed in lots of IHG/Holiday Inn hotels and we’re big at finding the positive and making the most of our travels but this was pretty bad! Our one amazing take away was that Sara at the front desk was AMAZING! She was super helpful, professional, and responsive to help!

Stayed 3 nights at the end of May. This hotel is very expensive for what you get, but Moab is a tourist trap, and every hotel in this town is going to be expensive and overpriced, that's just how it is. The front desk staff were all very nice, friendly, and helpful. You have to stay more than 3 nights to get your room cleaned, but that wasn't a problem because you can ask the front desk for more towels, toiletries, etc. They told us to put old towels or filled garbage bags out in the hall and they were picked up. The room itself was okay, the bathroom floor and shower looked like they hadn't been cleaned very well, but other than that, the room was fine.
I have stayed in a lot of hotels during Covid, and most of them skimped on breakfast, but now that Covid is basically over, it was really nice to stay at a hotel that had a full breakfast offering. I was very pleased with the breakfast set up. They had all the offerings, several hot items rotating each day, plus toast, muffins, cinnamon rolls, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, and plenty of to-go items. There were plenty of tables.

This is the second night of staying at this brand in two different towns; their keurig coffee makers do not work! They need to use vinegar or Durgal on them on a regular basis. Beds okay but not the greatest; comforters so tucked in that they won't cover one's shoulder. Clean although rooms done daily only if requested ahead of time. At least this one offered eggs for breakfast - nothing else other than bananas that was gluten free. Just down the road from entrance to Entrance to Arches NP, but definitely not downtown Moab.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July and would stay here again. This hotel is in a great location to the parks (but everywhere in Moab is in a great location to the parks). The hotel was quiet and the room was clean. We had a roll-out sofa which was comfortable and that isn't usually the case in many hotels. The air conditioning worked well and we had no problems except for an unexpected power outage but it only lasted a few hours and wasn't the hotel's fault.
If I had to knock this hotel it would be on the breakfast. The breakfast with the Covid wasn't the normal breakfast and was just a grab bag with only a couple of items. They did have some breakfast items but weren't putting them out, people had to ask things like Yogurt or Cereal and they would go back to get some (maybe they were afraid people were going to eat breakfast?). Maybe just reduce the price of the room and forget the grab bag breakfast altogether would be a better option.

Usually we expect Holiday Inn Express to be rooms in great condition and well-executed services, but this one was not up to standard. When we arrived the bathroom sink was plugged up and the shampoo bottle was empty. While the room was reasonably clean, it looked like a drunk person had smeared caulk all over the bathroom. The management was trying to manage the COVID problem by blocking off the breakfast food serving area and having a staff person do the serving. But all the drinks were sitting in open cups right below where you stand to place your order. It didn’t help that a lot of the guests were seemingly grown but maskless men in military fatigues. It all made us wonder if anyone was doing any thinking.
An important thing to be aware of, about Moab in general. There is only one road from Arches National Park to Moab, and it is under construction (October 2020). Each day it took us nearly an hour to creep through the last couple of miles into town. All the hotels are equally affected.

Hi PaulInBellevue, It delights us to have you as a guest at our hotel. Thank you for taking the time of the day to share your experience. Our purpose is to leave you a favorable impression while you visit us. While it is rewarding to hear that you found the room to be clean, I am sorry the upkeep of the bathroom, toiletries, and breakfast encounter tarnished your overall hotel experience. I also recognize the uneasiness caused by some of our guests not wearing a face mask. Cozy accommodations and reliable services are among our promises. I have shared your comments with the hotel management as a reference for the enhancement of our services and lodging experience. I assure you we will work with the relevant team to strengthen our commitment to the guidelines on preventive measures. Know that your feedback has helped to determine what needs to be done so we can better meet your needs. I hope you will make our hotel your home away from home again. Warmest regards, Zel N. Great location to the Arches NP. Provide only room cleaning for every 4th day, meaning that for the first 3 days, you are supposed to put your dirty towels outside your door, and collect new towels from the front desk if you need them. Trash cans are to be placed outside your room every morning. This has become the "new normal." It is about cutting cost, saving money in house keeping. Breakfast is sufficient.

Surprising because Moab is not very big, not near anything but beautiful rocks, and (sorry to pass judgment here) not terribly sophisticated. So our hopes were not high that any place in town would be terrific.
But this was.
It was staffed by really helpful, experienced people who really know the area. The rooms are large and comfy, and the shower great. Breakfast was crowded, but the eggs, bacon, sausage, and especially muffins were dandy.
The coffee, though, not so much. Standard IHG fare. And the luggage carts are as old as the red hills (sort of) and rickety. The property, too, is 22 years old and shows some fraying.
The elevator was slow and literally growled, but the proprietors said they were working on that. Throwing it pieces of meat, perhaps.
Moab is a fur piece from just about anywhere except Grand Junction in Colorado. You'll be pleased that this hotel is as good as it is.
P.S. if any Holiday Inn execs are reading this. The questions below are even more ludicrous than ever. Who makes them, someone who has never traveled? For instance, "Would you recommend this hotel to a group of people looking for connecting hotel rooms?" Do you think travelers pay attention to whether there are doors connecting to the rooms next to them, unless they ARE in a large party?
Get real with your questions and ask about things that matter to your average individuals or couples who travel.
Arches National Park is a treasure and close by, but its signature "Delicate Arch" is a long, strenuous walk. Take it at your peril, and expect to encounter bands of idiots taking selfies of each other and spoiling your souvenir shots.
Canyonlands and a state park are nearby and worth the trek. Be aware that the former has a "southern unit" farther from town. More remote and mostly for serious hikers. Forget about it. But the former two are really special.
