Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco offers a blend of comfort and convenience, boasting well-appreciated amenities like complimentary bikes and cozy beds. However, some guests have noted the hotel's atmosphere is dampened by outdated decor. Its prime location near Fisherman's Wharf is acknowledged, though cleanliness and safety concerns have been raised.
While rooms are generally clean and comfortable, inconsistent housekeeping has been a drawback for some. Despite the hotel's cleanliness and service receiving mixed reviews, many travelers feel the hotel's value is diminished by steep parking and breakfast costs.

Detailed Reviews
We loved staying in the middle of Fisherman's Wharf at such a homely and comfortable location. We booked two King connecting rooms (travelling with teenagers) and the rooms were very clean, modern, lots of light and space for our family of 4. Walking distance to all the fun stuff (Pier 39, Ghirardelli square & park, other piers including Market, Alcatraz landing etc.) and necessary stuff (Trader Joe's, Walgreens and Starbucks around the corner). The valet parking that was included in our rate was very worthwhile as we realized cars parked in the area were being vandalized daily but we could rest assured ours was safe and the valet service was excellent as was the rest of the service. Very friendly staff throughout our stay. We were close to the Golden Gate bridge and highways which allowed for easy access to surrounding daytrips (Berkeley, Sausalito, Muir Woods). Would highly recommend this as a great place to stay to anyone vacationing in the area.

Easy walk to both Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach (Little Italy). I wish someone told us there of the fast easy walk to some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Housekeeping was very nice, and quick, and refreshed our room with plenty of extra soap, makeup remover wipes, cotton swabs and lotion. We had a terrace view which looked out at the pool and spa, which were both nice. Only one water bottle was given to guests per room, with an option to buy another one for $5.00 which was okay. We didn't have a car, which was made all the easier since parking off site is around $30.00 a night (while parking onsite was about $50.00 per night). We had a nice stay.

It's great to read that you had a nice stay. We are located just a couple blocks from North Beach which is the Little Italy of San Francisco. It is truly amazing Italian food. Thank you for the recommendations and suggestions. We appreciate you choosing to stay with us.

This is our second time staying here. The parking is crazy expensive - it’s gone up since our last stay - and that is my main complaint with the place. Each time we’ve only stayed one night and with points so I can tolerate it. The rooms are clean and well designed; comfy beds and great toiletries. The pool area is great for us midwesterners who will swim outside no matter the weather! I love the location and they can give you discounts for restaurants nearby if you discuss with the concierge. I guess that makes up for the parking but I wouldn’t stay here more than a night unless someone’s comping it for you.

The hotel was in good condition. Parking was expensive. They ran out of towels!?! There were two towels in our room, and we had a reservation for four people. There were no available towels at the pool. When my husband asked for towels, he was given two hand towels for my daughters to dry off with.

We stayed for two nights, and we were pleased with our stay. The hotel is on a side street but close to Fisherman's Wharf. It was quiet but easy walking distance to many areas - Ghirardelli Square, North Beach, Lombard Street. The hotel room was clean and well kept. There is a resort fee that includes bottled water, and the hotel staff was easy going about the water allotment and told us to just let them know if we needed more bottles. We did not eat at the hotel, but we did have a drink one evening. Drinks were reasonably priced and they have some cozy leather chairs arranged in twos if you want to just relax with a drink instead of sitting at a table. I would recommend this location. There is a great breakfast location across the street with a huge menu, if you want something different from the hotel.

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric for two nights. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating - we skipped on housekeeping due to COVID, but anything we requested was promptly brought up to the room. It was disappointing that the bar was closed and restaurant limited to take out due to COVID.
Our only complaint was that the bell hop / valet could not call us a cab whe we were leaving, and instead recommended we do Uber or walk a few blocks to another hotel to catch a cab.

What a great location & exceptional staff, super comfortable & modern room. Despite the location is was remarkably quite & clean. From the doorman to the front desk everyone works to make your stay a good one
It is walking distance to all the great tourist locations including some great restaurants, as well as an incredible restaurant onsite. One thing to be aware of like all hotels the cost of parking your vehicle is expensive (all valet) but the staff are quick & professional.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 15th anniversary in SF. The Hyatt Centric Fish Wharf was in a convenient location at a fair price. Our room was clean an comfortable and the staff was pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.

We just stayed here this last week of March and were very impressed with the staff and by the hotel.
We got early check-in by 2 hours and the staff were accommodating. And we asked for extra linens and pillows when we reserved the room in the "additional requests" section of the website and housekeeping actually showed up right when we got to the room with extra pillows and linens. You just don't see that level of service anymore.
Additionally at 5 am on the first overnight there was an alarm clock going off in the neighboring room which we believe was empty and the alarm was turned off a couple minutes later after we called the front desk. Again, you don't see that these days.
The hot tub looked nice, though there were always many people using it so we couldn't try it out. We did spend about 20 minutes in the pool. It was kind of chilly but luckily the pool has 4 warm water jets pushing out warm water into the pool. Also, this is San Francisco, so no one should expect an outdoor pool to be the greatest pool ever here quite frankly.
The hotel and property itself was very clean and impressive and the upkeep was good overall.
Our only qualm was upon the last day we were all sneezing when we woke up. We figured maybe allergies or something and went to breakfast but upon coming back to the room we all instantly sneezed again. We quickly saw that there was perhaps some mold or mildew something growing on the ceiling (see pics). Upon checkout after that we told the front desk and they called up housekeeping immediately and then took off a couple days' destination fee. A very nice and unextended thing on their part.
Anyhow, we'd absolutely stay again in the future.
